THE SPINE! Probably the most awesome looking part to a nurgle daemon.

Sadly Wrex there has been on dry-heaving . . . though im sure if I were drunk enough i would and it would be half responsible for it . . . if that makes for anything

Yeah I will be using this in a game or two at some point, I have no doubt I can provide some really nice in-game photos at some points. Some of these photos will simply have to be set up, but the visual part is what matters to me anyway.

Yes the dry-heaving is serious, and .... wait are you drunk Mr.Toxic?

Any thoughts on the skin? I am only going to sculpt/paint this once, so if you have something you would like to see (within reason) I will give it a shot. I was thinking of adding zits to the shoulder plate, then perhaps adding some armor after I have magnetized and finished the joints.

Questions like:

How are the intestines going to look?

Will there be SM attacking the beast, or would that be excessive?

What kind of fingertips will the large hand have? Perhaps scythe like talons?

Will the spine go into the neck, or will it be disconnected so the seam on the neck can rest comfortably?

How will the weapon arm be positioned? Perhaps raking in it's meal or using the elbow to pry itself out of the warp?

Wrex

I think some skin/fat folds coniming down under the arm or somewhere else appropriate would look very nice!

Me? Drunk? If only . . .

As for extras, I think one or two marines battling on a small scale with the beast, like entangled in a tentacle or something

I would get it trying to pry itself from the floor. if you look at it now, the big arm is up in the air so you could imagine it reaching up and pulling itself up and out

Just a few crazed ideas there

Thanks guys, I will add all of those things.

- Extra 'flab' under the large arm, perhaps assorted folds as the sculpt finishes up.

- A couple of marines fighting the tentacles, perhaps a terminator if I can get my hands on one. I think a thunderhammer hitting the beast in an eye would look really cool. Hmm... maybe I will get get a couple assault marines and give them thunderhammers so they could be Vanguard Veterans on the assault.

- The weapon arm will probably end up being posed in a way that looks like the beast is prying itself out of a hole. I may actually add a rhino or another vehicle into the big hand, this will probably be at a later time though.

I did this with GIMP. Wraith-sight I suppose, like the Wraithlord can see into the Warp.

Love the wraith sight.

I like the idea of it entering the battle out of a hole in the ground - would be a good effect for a summoned greater daemon. Perhaps scorched and cracked ground next to where rises up?

I think the eye woud not be the weakest and most targeted area for thunder hammer strikes but instead the back of head or shoulder.

otherwise good stuff there.

The mouth will look like this, with a snake-like tongue flickering out. I thought about making it eating something, maybe a pair of Guardsmen legs is in order.

I wouldn't make this critter eating anything... Unless it was interchangeable. Maybe magnatize a few assorted legs like space marine legs, eldar legs, and guardsmen. that way you're not stuck eating stinkky guardsmen 24/7 and if you decide that eating somebody is cheeze-ball one day you can remove the legs. just a thought.

"All of the whining pisses me off... Somewhere some whiny girlyman reinterpreted sportsmanship to reflect the build and not the player. The build has nothing to do with sportsmanship and getting docked as such is ludicrous." -Inigo Montoya
That being said, I'll still give you a 0 if you bring more than 5 eldar skimmers. Don't be that guy.
Also, strippers.

That mouth is from a Lamprey. Really weird buggers, remember that fact is much stranger than fiction.

In terms of the beast eating something, I might do this...

I am going to get a huge amount of magnets, and I can't imagine a more concentrated way to learn how to work with them. I like the idea of interchangeable "edibles", that way I could have snacks suited for psychological warfare every game. MUUUWHAAAHAaahaaahaaaaaa

Hi Wrex, only joined this forum for the =I=munda content but I do have a sad/serious addiction now to the P&M Blogs and happened to chance upon yours.

Being honest my first thoughts were along the lines 'oh dear what a ninny...' upon seeing your wire and clay frame base (well actually my first thoughts were these drawings are good so am looking forward to this but anyway!) as memories of a friends beast of nurgle attempt and other green stuff monstrosities (that weren't deliberately said monstrosities) whilst in yr 8 of school came flooding back!

Something however kept drawing me back (perhaps the divine aid of the bloated+slimy and slimy one!) probaly the amount of responses that you were getting and I watched the project develop and the mini (?! Perhaps model is a better word, yes model!) take shape.

I've been slowly more and more impressed as you've gone on taking some old sprues and with the aid of some clay and a ton (prob more like a kilo ) of GS knocked out this fantastic piece. And I find myself going from thinking 'what a ninny' to saying 'you sir are pioneer!', the quality of your greenstuffing is a joy to behold and your visualisation of the subject matter made rotten flesh! Please keep up the good work! I'll be checking in REGULAR to see how old rotten guts is getting on!

Kudos,

StoneBlood

Thank you for the kind words Stoneblood.

I like to give a bit of myself to all the pieces I do, maybe they give me something in return, and I would hope they'd do the same for anyone watching.

I've ordered magnets so I should be able to finish the major parts of the GS some time next week as long as my order arrives on time. After taking a few moments to seriously look at this model, I cannot fathom painting it before I get some practice. I have had a lot of fun making it and I would like to be able to paint it nicely as well.

If all goes well I will have this puppy up for C&C in the main painting section next month. I still haven't decided on the final paint scheme but I have a few ideas that I will get around to trying out on other stuff.

I will see what I can do, I am pretty far away from Black daimond, about as far as you are actually. At some point I have no doubt that I will stop by the store, I will make sure to P.M. you in advance.

I game at ENDGAME (echo!) in Oakland, though I am new to the store in general.
