OK, morning/noonish and full of coffee so time for the updated build pics of the Jump packs for the Dread.
Im trying to figure out what mechanical upgrade (psy power) to compliment the extra move, either +D3 attacks or Prefered Enemy. Basically Im trying to decide on having a servo arm work with the Jets or some other recon/viewing device to help it see in close combat. Whatever the compliment it mostly likely wont be used until after the turn I assault or get assaulted since why would I really want to give up that extra move?
I think Ill spend the rest of the day greenstuffing the gaps and hopefully I can get more magnets to finish those off.

I swear to god my magnets better show up soon because Im running out of little things to tweek.
Behold Ive upgraded the power generator by super glueing more gernerator parts, is this the equivelant of duck taping a nitro boost to my stering wheel?
But seriously I need my magnets so this thing can see primer, or at least get in line for paint.

@Flying Poo- Boosters look natural? This made me chuckle only because that booster assembly was pure scrap part build (aside from the boosters themselves) Thanks
@1-i, you better not screw this one up with a lousy paint job.

Have you looked at the servo arm from bispudlo or wjhatever they are called, most think its oversized for a marine, could be what you need, or maybe again its too small

Got my magnets an all shoulder arms are complete for exchanability, now off to primer and paint.
In distracting news from the tech dread I got sucked into the WAAAGGHHDAKKA and my attempt will be along the lines of a grot with a laptop controling a missle, but I just nuked my one grot so Ill have to track down FrienziedPotato and beg him for one of his spares.

I fear in my haste to complete this army by years end that I might just continue to ignore the little things, like this tank.
Ok Ill paint the tank a little later but the gunner is done, and overarmed.

Power plant- done (ish)
servo arms- well underway just need some more drybrushing
everything else- getting along better than expected.
At time like this I almost wish I had an airbrush.

Well this one is done
The Front with the Basic Layout
The Back of the Basic
Back of the Jumppack
And all the dread in a box
Ok Im missing one side view shot, Ill add it later
Next its time for some rhino/razoback action.
At the same time Im starting a count as Gabriel Seth, Im not completely in favor of the bloodreaver chainsword and might go for a flail type smacker, or an axe, or a big ol club, maybe a radioactive seal on a leash?

Predator w/ TL Lascannon-o-doom
I named this tank "Turisas" after a Finish god of battle, also a finish metal band that features violin as a lead instroment.
One tank to paint and my vehicle core is completed, aside from the still unmade razorback las/ plas turrets.
I might just take the next few days and build 4 more jump pack suiciders to fill up my one squad. Im still deciding/looking for the right weapon for my Gab Seth conversion.

That looks great. The weathering on the tank tracks is very well done.
A Finish metal band with a violin as a lead instrument?
Sounds awesome, I am so searching for that on Youtube.

Ok, Ive done some fluff thought and if anyone actually remembers I was going wit the chapter name 'Tears of the Emporer' It was going to have some emo theme of the sorrow that humanity is going throught and blah blah blah and I am fine with that aspect of it. The problem is that if I was going with a tears theme then drop pods would be plentiful and my colors dont fit and (if your familar with this) my earth attack based army is also out of whack.
So Im back to just simply calling them "Dirt Marines" or "Chapter 7213"
Now going back to my origina thought that this chapter isnt a full chapter yet, relativly fresh in origin but with seasoned marines and scouts in the upbringing. A true geneseed has not yet been fully adopted and at this time the bulk of true marines are 'volunteers' from various other chapters. For the sake of fluff and because a good friend often needs an allie my marines are Tau sympathisers/willing to deal with for technology, I suppose that makes my guys outcasts or hieritics and Im perfectly fine with that.
Thats the basic of what Im currently working with and perhaps might dedicate some real time and pen/paper to this.

Maybe they are actually an ancient chapter, the few survivors woke up some day on an unknown planet in an unknown device remembering nothing. They are trying to piece together their past but for now they call themselves the Dirt Marines.
You could still use the Tau sympathizers. Maybe the Tau woke them up or something like that.
Just a thought.......

Acient guys that slept for an overabundant amount of time, sounds like my early 20's. Now if the hyper hybernation failed a good chunk of the fleshies that would help give a fluff reason why my 2k army list has 5 dreads in it. Maybe they got buried, that would help the reason for my dirty armor scheme. No matter what happens this guys will end up hating the Dark Eldar, who by the way are getting my updated at the start of the new year (forshadowing here).
For the greater good of the Emporer!

Normally Id insert a pic here of what Ive got going or done, in tonights case Ive ignored taking a picture and just painted.
Four assault squad guys are done with the exception of the tear jewels on various parts. I feel that these four are some of the better painted models in the army, after two years I better have improved on my technique. I have another night of jewel effects to paint then Ill be able to upload pics and with the new camera as a bonus.
