Captain *insert name*
Power Mace, Inferno Pistol, Meltabomb, and a storm bolter. The simple all purpose Cpt for whatever game I need him to be. I do like this model in measureable distance compared to my original Cpt
So at least I can say that I have two. Automatically Appended Next Post: Quad-dread update: I should be meeting with my chaos buddy latter this week and we will hammer out the remaining bits to make the build.
Now you might be wondering why no pictures of this part of the project, well its simple. I don't have anything worth taking a pick of yet.
I think the meeting will also bring the massive build session for the upcoming tyranid project "Chimera" but more on that when I have time to focus in on it.

Tyberos the Red Wake
With this model completed and the Mini Defiler on standby I only have one term squad and landraider to complete the army. So close yet probably two months till completion.

It took three years of painting the same scheme over and over. Finally in this latest one I think I finally got the eyes the way I have tried since day 1 of the project.
Granted the Forgeworld model did lend itself well to the eyes. Still I cant stop feeling like I finally nailed it. Now if I can repeat it four more times on the last batch of terminators.

Nothing interesting to report. I'm about to prime the Terminator squad and get all that jazzy nonsense over with.
For the 'done with painting' celebration of this army I guess I will do a bunch of squad pics. Boy when you type that idea out it seems like a small petty thought. Also its just one more iron to the fire and the forge is getting full. Or maybe I shouldn't unshelve the flipping nid horde that is encroaching my entire work room. I foresee anxiety over small little projects looming over the horizon.

Fun surprise, the squad of termies is really only three. Guess that means I should make short work of it all.
On an upcoming project note anyone have some good visuals of interesting conversions with first edition Carnifexes? I have three that will probably become tyrant guard and a fourth that I just want to make look like the mighty midget of a 'Fex brood. Automatically Appended Next Post: Quick add on and this applies to all threads any of you watch.
Vote for the pics that are posted in the gallery. It makes all the work that goes into a masterpiece or a quick and out of the way seem vindicated when you give your two cents on a paint job. Good or bad just give a vote to keep all painters working and willing to share.

Crap....... I think I'm adding another task for completion. I have to look at it all but I think I will be making a few more terminators. Turns out that Dark Angel Deathwing Terminators are now up to 10 man.
Also the quad leg dreadnought idea is dead, the torso is just too small for the legs. Plus the legs despite my best trim efforts are too bulky and cant get into proper position. So to replace a quad leg I'm working on a deathwing dreadnought. I think that will bring my army total up to 6 dreads of doom.
So maybe more work than I want but isn't that the point of the hobby?

Terminators with Feel No Pain, is there anything better to have on your side? The trouble is that medics often don't have the best color scheme available to them and sometimes trying to get it to work with your army colors just doesn't work as well as you would like. Case in point mine.
I didn't want the traditional full white apoth and thus went with a two tone idea. So far it hasn't completely won me over and I am in need of outside opinions and ideas.
Other updates, the once quad dread, then chaos mini defiler is now just going to be a Dark Angles Dread with unnecessary weapons to simply look cool.
and with other trouble for a timely finish is that I'm just getting distracted by other things, like massive hordes of nids and crons and tau and helping with some chaos. So I might give it another go at maintaining two threads but I know that I'm so slow with updates as it is that I don't think its worth the effort.

Distractions, they occur and sometimes frequently. Or chainmail takes freaking forever to make and I have a show coming up plus some minor house issues and stuff so yadda yadda.
So some updates on painting, I didn't change the scheme to the apothecary and after the first wash I like it now.
And in the spirit of incomplete work the other two that are getting worked on.
So now back to work, paint, chain, bricks and table saw. Automatically Appended Next Post: I need to add more 'pop' to the shield, probably be OK with a simple painted flash in the open corner. The spacewolf arm has a rune on the vambrace and the black inlay looks fantastic.
Tree trimmer is just fun, actually I need to pull a Dr Frankenstein and bring him to life to trim up a tree for me. Honestly that was my inspiration when making this guy, an armored super lumberjack to do some trim work for me. In the end he will count as a Deathwing Champion.

Fluffy photos are in the near future.
First I have to dry out my armor from the fighting demo that turned into city street swimming. Let me tell you that the only thing that does scare a group of armored combatants is lightning and I have never seen armor fly off so many people so fast.
So the moral of the story is join the SCA and learn to fight then go in the city streets get a lot of kids excited about watching sword fights and then watch nature get an entire outdoor festival to pack up and go home early. And somehow end the day with dry feet.

So the Ren Fair went well. Not out of the park results but good enough to warrant another go at it and maybe a few other events. What does this have to do with this blog? Well my chain goods are going to be the primary funding from this point forward for my games and toys, thus good trade results = more wargamming. Also the last few weeks have been completely devoted to the Ren Fair and now that it is over I can finish up here.
Tree Trimmer and Shield Bash, my second and third lamest names in the army. For game purpose Tree Trimmer ( TT) will count as Deathwing Champion. In fluff he is understudy to Chapter Master Tristen (Gabe Seth).
Shield Bash should just be one to leave marks on the battle field.
Now that cursed Apocolypse book have me wondering "Why no formation for Techmarines?" and "Should I make three more librarians for the formation?" They just had to make a book that maybe will maybe have me make more marines, terrible.
Anyway full army shots should be within the week, but only after I finish up the Apothecary Terminator.

I officially started this army back in 2009 and now almost 4 years to day I an officially ending the project. Yes I have two unfinished vehicles but I am not making them a priority for some time.
What started as a 500pt army of two scouts, one dread, and a HQ, has well evolved and got way out of hand. So looking back what can I say about what was suppose to be my small third army? It is at least still my smallest army at this time and my only completely painted army (minus the previous exemption).
Enough nostalgia time for the photos.
First the army shot
Terminator Ally Squad
Tech Dread, Marine and Speeder
Marine Exchanges from the members of this Dakka site. Is there another Dakka site?

It's been 10 years and 10th edition is about to come out so I guess I can revisit this blog thread thing and see how my passions take me.
I've been out of the game for the last several years as I stopped playing at 7th edition I think. Got the bug to return and looking at this army I haven't been too happy with what I saw. Maybe it was the burnout, maybe I just didn't do that good on some of them. Who knows and does it matter?
So cleaning up my dirty looking marines and fixing some things that really bugged me.
First of I'm painting all the base rings black again. The previous clay color just didn't vibe with me and I'm going to adding more armor sections that are not khaki in color. The few models I did that were a two part color armor worked better for me so that's the new plan.
Now let's see if I remember how to forum post.

Data Cards came out and looking them over left me a tad bit amazed by how many new units have been created since I stopped working on this army. Primarous, Phobious armor, grav weapons ? My primitive old man mind is having a hard time processing all this information. But after other adult required activity (work) I think I made enough sense of all of it to realize, my army plan still holds water. Granted the change to sniper scouts messes with my old plan but if that's where I complain then okay.
Might have to make some more heavy weapon tactical marines to fill a squad but I think my large number of dreads should cover the big pain requirements.
Paintjob cleanup is working well. I got lucky and happened to have a correct-enough color to match my old main color laying around. Hemp Rope by army painter is doing the trick, I think the old color was a 'faded khaki' or something like that. More details to the bases are coming along well with adding some cleaner looking flock to the backyard dirt.
Coming up I think is going to be printing off the relevant data sheets and doing an army organization to get playable once the local crew gets enough rules to do so.

Well game stat differences will have to be learned, possibly painfully.
Looking at the datasheets it seems I can keep the blood angels template for my models on table.

Well look at that, seems all the bases got bigger some time ago. Guess its time for the 3d printer to work out some extenders. Hunting down what the current standards are for models hasn't been too hard I think but since everything has a name update I need to cross reference lots.
Now with the points being released I have to do the math of my units to see what I got. Excited to do this just need to find the time.

Land Raider getting primed now and hopefully painted this weekend. After that it's just printing off base adaptors to make all proper units 32mm and organizing what my point values are.
