Almost done with the base colors of the storm raven and the base itself is almost finished.
Dudebuddy dropped off his Grey's, 20 total. 5 Pals, 5 Terms, 5 Hyperjumpers, and 5 normal uber troops.
Simple standard grey metal colors with gold highlights for most but the Paladins will be gold with silver highlights. See what I did there, I call it 'color reversal'
Now the most important part of the Grey knight work is friday I get my fancy old grinding wheel with working pedals and boy do I have a load of work for it, Im so excited that Im might go school girl.

Ok fancy camera sorely needs more light than I have artifically available at this time and relieing ond the sun in Feb isnt a good idea, so after some photoshop time at least I got this WIP visible for critism.
1- I do really need to invest time into a photo box
2- I am rushing this project and it is starting to show, I'll have to settle with that for now and do touch ups later but I despertly need to move on past this project.

Well its currently done.
Project Dirt Marines aka Salvaged Angels, aka oh crap another marine army is done. I can still hammer out a couple of terminators to make a full 10 man squad but that will be a side project to the next projects that need completion.
I am still working on the Grey Knights to earn the comision that Ive allready been paid and pics of those will come in the near future along with some staged army shots of my marines.
Considering this army was my third army and at the time of its coneception was intended to be a small force 500 - 750 point value I would say it did grow well beyond that. So now I have three armys that can field a minimum of 3k points I guess I better start playing more.

Done, HA I laugh at the idea that I could be done.
Looks like round two is about to begin, albeit a shorter round. After some games, rethinking, new edition and ebay=crack experiences I have a short list of 'do this'
1-New captain, the old one just doesnt pop out on the field enough.
2-Non termie Librarian, currently ready to prime and paint,
3-Sweetheard deal on a LandRaider Crusader all I have to do is prime and paint.
4-Half dozen Terminators, Deathwing allies is going to be so much fun
5- Great Marine Swap http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/3120/305404.page as many models I can muster together, some tactical, some terminators, maybe even that techmarine guy that is a vehicle addon that I still have in the packackge. My hopes is that the return trades will be scouts and deathcompany and probally some regs, if it happens like that then Ill be able to fill the small presentation gaps in my force.
Now for the added challenge Im planning on steps 1-4 to be done before the end of the year, and considering how much real life stuff I have lined up for the rest of this month, let alone the rest of the year, its not going to be easy to keep the deadline.

Painting of the above Librarian and Belial have begun and going well. I took the time tonight to assemble my Apoth Term along with a stock term with chainword polearm, I so love assembling pieces and the mix and match. The thunder hammer w/cyclone launcer term needed a good bath to work out some of the left over paint and excess glue that it still had on it. Considering the price I paid for him its ok for this simple cleanup, after the parts are done soaking Im going to take the shield to my belt sander and smooth it down then give him a less space wolf looking one.
In the morning Ill take some pictures and hopefully post them up before work. Automatically Appended Next Post: Damn Im silly, I forgot to purchase shoulder pads for the terminators. Well back to ebay.

Well now that I have the Terms assembled, minus shoulder pads, I snapped a quick pic.
The Apothecary will have a groin tabard after paint is done with him and the chainpole wielding one will get more bits to make him more imposing but I want to wait for the shoulder pads to get here first. In all I'm happy with the development of this deathwing attachment for my army. And yes that Belial is very much in the early stages of paint right now.

How many cans of Pledge must I go through as I keep dusting off this thread?
Today we unveil Belial of the Deathwing, just in my colors. This was a well painted model right before I sprayed the clear coat. Just as I finished coating him he took a rather unfortunate drop into the fine sand that happens to be the ground, as the finish was still nice and wet and drying quickly lets just say that half of his body was a little bulkey. Some scraping and a little touch up later its as good as can be short of a total paint strip and repaint.
Also for show is the replacement Captain for my army. Power Maces are just too nice for me to pass up and I figure since I do use Power axes frequently I better make sure this Cpt looks the part.

Boy do I need to get back on this horse and finish up the last few things.
1- Basic Librarian is nearly done so that should be hammered out in a few hours.
2- The new captain has only a basecoat painted and that should be finished.
3- That Terminator squad with apothecary should be painted
4- Howling Thunder, landraider crusader, needs some more trim work then paint.
Wow, just four simple things and its done. What will I do after its done, well I guess that would probably have to be the Overwhelming horde of Hive Fleet Chimera, that's only a simple 12000 points of alien horde force. But I will save it for another thread.
Boy I'm glad I have such a clear schedual with absolutely no deadline projects lurking over the horizon.

Step 1 of the final countdown list is complete.
I did something a little out of my ordinary with this, I actually thought about going with codex colors. Blue for Librarian status but since I seriously don't like blue marines I opted to leave the just the helmet and unique, to my army, shoulder pad with its little lightning bolt. For the power axe I blended my two power weapon schemes of fire and blue glowie and the results are.. eh. Its ok but I'm not thrilled with it.
Now going forward the new captain will be the generic army colors but with my Gabe Seth finishes for the extra defined look to keep the pop he deserves. For Tyberos it will be either a army reverse, dark with the tan under layer or red as a primary color with the tan and dark worked in. The Quad Dread will be a pure kit bash in pure glorious mayhem and ultimately I will save it for last.

Doing finishing touches on Cpt probably have pics up in the next day or two. My production has certainly increased with the doctors order to sit down more to give my aching legs a rest.
More than likely I will need a schedualed break from painting to develop some small chainmail objects for a future sales show, figures this would become an issue once I hit a good paint stride.

GAWD!!
First off I have some Red Wings frustrations. Just 'win' a freaking game and stop this 'not loosing' thing.
Second, Quad-Nought is a flipping nightmare in assembly. In case anyone was wondering standard dread legs don't quad up very well so I have worked some Imperial Sentinel legs. Chopped the lower hydraulics with the idea that I can line them up with in a proper walking look but of course it doesn't seem to work that way so I will probably settle with a stationary look. Getting the legs into a hip base has also proven to be 12 steps harder than expected. The plan was to use the original Dreads 'hip' and attach the legs, boy that sounds simple. The problem is that the combination of four legs to the hip just left the build look bulky and lego built. Now the plan is to take the legs and cut the upper pivot and merge them into one interlocked piece or have the four legs with two hips. No matter what I do I think that it will be too big for the standard base so maybe I have an oval based Dread.

Quad-Nought is going Chaos. Talking it over with a bud who is re-evaluating some of his units/models and in the chat it turns out he has better bits to fulfill this already chaos-ie looking dread.
In other new, why haven't I taken any pictures lately?
Lets blame the Californians.
