Well the leson to the story that I probally wont tell is simple. When your hobby room is directly below your bathtub and you decide to let the boys play in the tub for nearly an hour remember that water does drip down into that hobby room and if gone unnoticed will created a horrible smell. So far the smell is gone but since i tore the room apart figure its a good time to redo some window trim and paint at least one wall a non light pink color. So surprisingly enough I do have one pic updated.

Who says tau troopers can have heavy weapons?

Got some glue residue to clean up on his chest and belt, probally trim the end of the cloak as well.

Im thinking that its about time for a Tau version of Ovirkill soon.

With the cooler weather coming in, so do I and that means Ill get some more painting stuff done.

First the end of the tau warriors

These guys are not fully done but I had the camera out and figured why not, 12 tau squad complete.

And this is about the only other model Ive finished in about 2 months

Many marines to be worked on soon and I promise the next updated (hopefully by the weekend) will be of at least one.

Speeder. this model was salvaged out of a box of random crap that I purchased when my local game shop closed doors. This model was in sad shape, spray painted blue some 10 odd years ago the paint stripping process took some serious time and left the model wounded and scarred, now if only i can paint those scars then life will be good.

I like the Tau Heavy. The other Tau conversions are looking good too.

I don't see the scars... but that could be the blur in the pics. I like the color scheme, though.

Also... nice sig.

The scars are currently hard to notice, the problem with my paint scheme is the models are dirty looking to begin with so adding some battle damage is easily unnoticable. Given time and technical skills I should be able to pull it off.

But hey look at these..

Yup thats an vindicare (i think), he was another of the bunch of stuff from game shop purchase. Considering that I want to use the model he will currently occupy the Scout Squad #2 Srg spot.

Still rocking some really nice conversions here, I think some larger pics may help you get more feedback tbh.

Devistators done, with missle launching madness for the mercy kills. Really I think that a missle to the chest would be alot less painfull then a body full of bolter shots.

paint's a bit rough on some of these

Its odd, I looked at each of these in hand for a few minutes before I decided they were done, then I took the pictures and saw all the rough spots. But when the models were in hand it was hard for me to see all the rough. Yeah I paint these guys so the armor has the feel of excessivly dirty (and some claim to need to wash their hands when done touching them) But (had to walk away and lost my train of thought)

Ok, Im not happy with these pictures, because they point out my flaws as a painter. Damm them for being self revealing.

Hell yeah.

Finishing D'naught and Speed right now
Some WIP

After these are finished up gonna hit the tau again with some heavy weapon minded work and do up the orc that decided to join the rank of the greater good. Good times with the dremel tool ahead.

Not sure why Im using a "FarSide" comic as a backdrop but I like it so far.

Dread is painted shy of the flags on his back that are awaiting a symbol for me to make.

Enjoy.

The rare two updates in one week.

Speeder is done, again this model was in ill shape when I got it and I certainly didnt do a whole lot to fix the file marks or anything else on the physical model. The pilot had a spot on his head from the priming, probally a bubble so he now has a head wound out of it.

New computer so new photo software, it sucks. So Im gonna have to reinstall the old so I can pull the pics I want and blah blah blah.
The holiday work season may have slowed me down but completed the assembly of the term Librarian, ok mostly finished. Probally need to add more green stuff to the cape, thicken it up and better define the edges I guess.

T-1 is comeplete, well mostly considering Ill probally come back to him and add something.

Simple paint scheme for this one nothing outrageous or really attention grabbing with what Ive done and that so far is the intent. Also he has been spared the dirty washes that the rest of the army has undergone, since each one will have his own flair this guy seem good to keep boring. This model is also the old puter and originally had the assault cannon but since I dont need two he got the hammer.

Small side project, again. This time its the orc that found the greater good. Bit of a story with this, it started with a tau vs greentide army, and with one of the full group of boys charging the tau and with the tau somehow lasting the first round were able to reinforce themselves with a drop ship and other ground pounders. The tau pulled that particular assault out to everyones surprise and in the madness of what had happened between 30 some boys and three groups of tau that after consolidations and a turn or two of movement it was realised that one of the boyz was now with the firewarriors, we laughed and it stayed the running joke.

Well here he is, after spending some time with his new friends,

And some fun artilary set up by the tau guy

T2, completed. Now that its painted Im not happy with my work on the helmet when I shaved the face, the line is off center and I left it pretty flat. Aside from that its still not my favorite of the bunch.

Don't worry about it at table top you never notice it. Colours are very good but a touch flat. I think it could benefit from a final highlight at a later date.

Yeah they need a good highlighting, probally gonna buy some armor wash one day or maybe just work on the edging that I did do. Its kind of tricky painting these guys with intent of keeping them 'clean'.

But anyway I forgot to post pictures of 'Ox' now that he is finally painted.

well hey 1-i, lol. We meet again! I really like the eyes, how do you produce that glowing effect? Is is just white base, fiery orange then touched with yellow?

Loving the Circle of Orboros

Escanaba Mi

Ah the eyes, still the most intimidating part of anything that I paint. What I do is start with a deep red and then I have two lighter shades of red and I just keep shrinkin the area they fill. After the red a slight touch or orange then the eyebrow sized brush does a thin line of white. Sounds kinda simple but I screw it up so many times and have to start over.

Sometimes I do skip the white if I like the look prior to that part. T1 has no white, plus if some patriotic player decides not to shoot till he sees the whites of his eye then that model should last all game.
