Seeing as how the wife's camera is still dead and I refuse to put up crappy pics I will try to update as I can.

My new project is to make 3 more Zoeys from Trygon bits and warrior bits. I'm hoping that it will go well and quickly! I have tomorrow off and it would be a good way to spend the day. Any idea how to do the back vents?

Due to the simple fact that my insides are attempting to get outside I have made no progress today. I'm sorry but there will be something up soon. What a waste of a day off... Why is it I'm never sick on work days?

@Asherian Command- I'm really glad to hear that! I hope I'll be able to put up some more soon! I decided today while I was staring into the abyss (being ill) That I do not want my nids to all look the same and it would be an absolute crap schute if I didnt make some variations from model to model. How could they be living things that are all the EXACT same??

On a side note, I have decided that my Doom is not as imposing as I feel it should be. That said I am also going to make a new one in addition to the 4 Zoanthropes I have in the works... The new Doom will hopefully look the part of World Killing brain but a bit better.

you should use wire+GS to make electricity pulsating around the DOOM

You do know that in the Tyranid errata/FAQ they made cover saves apply and he can't target embarked units?

Yeah, Robin just had to give his mech guard buddies another advantage .

I fully intend to (I cant believe I'm saying this) make it almost look like he is going super sayen and energy is rippling around him.

just a quick update... I got some ambition and re-assembled my flyrant after the cat killed it. Also came up with a pretty good way to do Zoeys from bits. Pics soon I hope.

Ok, so the wife's camera is back up and running! As promised here are some of the things I've been working on...

First off is a much better quality pic of my finished carnifex. As you can see there is quite a bit more detail than was seen in the previous photo. I am going to be doing another cote of bleached bone over the ink wash also.



The recently finished/broken/rebuilt Flyrant!



Complete with magnetized weapons!

Now for the Zoey WIP



I was trying something a little different on the arms and legs to try and get more substantial sized limbs that look slightly less... well goofy than the metal ones.



And this wil be close to the final based pose. I want it to look like it is slowly flying at enemy units not just sitting there like a tree.

@Finch Claw- I saw those and they are delightfully disgusting looking! I may have to add that to my ever growing list of side projects.

Thought I'd pop over - and glad I did Paint job and scheme looks great - as do the conversions and magnetisation! Might have to make it a 'Nid rather than an SM trade

Small pictureless update... All 4 Zoey bodies have been assembled similar to the one pictured above. Every one is posed slightly differently. Also The main differences will be on their backs (vent styles if any) and on their heads (misc spikes and antena) Hope to get some pics up tonight or tomorrow!

HAHA Thanks whalemusic360, I've been trying really hard to improve my nonexistant skills with every side project. I'm trying to at least end up with a respectable hive fleet. As for the post SM exchanges, I am all for some more types! I would love other gants and gaunts! Then again I would trade anything.

On a completely non tyranid topic I was looking to get some constructive criticism on this pc I put together some time ago when I was contemplating doing a Relictors SM army .Also I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to how I should paint this??

What weapon loadout is that? The claw is very cool.
I would do it with lots of rust on the metal. It looks like a battle worn veteren, and doesnt even have paint yet.

Love the dread. Have no idea on the paint scheme.

The claw is actually two metal ork claws. I dont remember what boss they are from. The gun is an autocannon from the IG heavy crew.

I'm glad it looks like a vet, I was trying to make it look like there were a few salvaged parts on it. I think I'm going to go back and add some guitar string "wires" to some spots to bring it up to date a bit more. Any other suggestions model wise? I am def going to rust and chip the gak out of this thing. There is no way anyone is going to mistake this for something walking off the floor of the adeptus mechanicus showroom with some greasy dread salesman behind it!

Any tips on rust effects that dont involve me buting pigment kits and such?

I'd check out SoO's blog, its got some crazy ass weather teqs in it.
Be careful not to go overboard, it can very easily slip into CSM or Ork realm.
Are you fielding it as a CCW/HF and twin linked autocannon?
