"Gak, Maverick we don't have time for this, what was that? Do they have unneutralised support?"

Maverick spoke into his microbead.

"LOCK THIS DAMN PLACE DOWN - SHOOT THAT DAMN FLEET OUT OF THE SKIES!"

"Hello, commander coc0, what is it?" the commander of the strike cruiser said over the vox.

"why by the emperor's lunchbox did you fire that shot? Do you want all the thrusters to know about our coming?" captain coc0 replied angrily.

"We have been fed target information by nikev and he ordered us to fire, we thought his authority surpassed yours."

"Fine, if it was indeed nikev. Just ready the rest of your batteries for space combat..."

Maverick bellowed into his comms-piece.

"Men of Thrustonicon! Their first attack has failed! Let us prevent a second - Fire on the enemy vessels, their aircraft and their infantrymen! Do not let them land a second wave!

Hold your line, brave men, for we are with you, thrusting alongside you, fighting for what is right!"

He turned to ludd.

"Once again, I must ask too much of you..."

Ludd looked Maverick in the eye, "You have only asked of me my duty..." Ludd jogs off to gather the majority of his forces who are still billeted just off the command centre.

The fleet had passed around the planet into sight of captain coc0, bewildered he said: "By the emperor's golden crapper, look at the size of that fleet. It will crush us men! I will not let our strike force die out here! mobilize all men to drop pod bays! ready all thunderhawks! wake the dreadnoughts! Prepare batteries for the cleansing of our drop zone from orbit! In the name of Kantor! No more crimson fists shall fall!"

Ludd opened up his micro-bead "I want everyone ready in three minutes, that's Tanith, the 63rd including armour support and any tau auxiliries. We've got landers, This Gentlemen is War."

This thread seems to becoming a fail......saddness............

Maverick sat down once more in the comms centre. He had failed... The Commissar had been at his swordpoint not five minutes earlier, and he had failed to kill him. He would not survive a second encounter, Maverick swore to himself.

Reaching into his pocket, he drew the medals he had torn from Nikev's chest. He put them on his uniform, the bright metal gleaming in the dim light of the command centre.

Maverick sheathed his Phase Sword. This blade could cut through anything, as it was fashioned from the essence of gods themselves. The Heretic Nikev would get his comeuppance, and it would come at Maverick's own hand. For the Lord Vera, he would make it so.

The hive fleet was on the move. It was a small one, a scouting force. It was sent by the hive mind, but an accident fused it with the mind of a pelvic thruster. The fleet was now seperate from the hive mind, and now it's goal was to turn the universe into one that pelvic thrusted regularly. They would try to accomplish this, and destroy Nikev in his ship.

(OOC - True that nikev, the thrusters have full planetary control. and have overpowered the anti-thrusters jsut because they are online more. i will see if my fists can make a major impact to make it a bit more fair for our anti-thrusting side)

No, we don't have full planetary control, we've merely captured your northern CP.

Most of the pods were ready for launch, just waiting for the go sign from the bridge. Captain coc0 left the command of his battle barge to one of his most trusted serfs, grasped his thunder hammer, holstered his plasma pistol and made for the drop bay where he would meet his command squad.

(OOC- considering how little you lot are online, we are actually giving you a fair chance at winning...)

(OOC - okay, that's true, i think i will let my crimson fist establish a command base 20 miles from thrusticon from which further command will be taken of the shattered fragments of the anti-thrusting force)

Coc0 arrived in the busy drop bay, drop pods were readied for launch and most of the pod doors were already closed. In front of him was his command squad carrying the majestic banner of their company and behind it was a decorated pod for him and his squad to occupy during planetfall. It seemed to be going well.

It still took Ludd's breath away, even after all these years... A full armour compliment of Leman Russ Battle Thrusters lined up in perfect harmony. He wiped the dust from his cadet-commissar badge, he didn't feel he had yet truly earnt the full commissar rank, but he felt sure he would before the end of the campaign...
Suddenly a sonic boom filled the air and the sky was full of lines of fire, "Drop pods" Ludd murmured under his breath, then a wry smile broke across his lips "so it begins"

(OOC - i hope to rendezvous with nikev at my drop zone, to get things going again)

Maverick surveyed the command map. He had to plan now, while the pods came down - there simply wasn't time for messing around any more, this was serious.

"Munch, O' Farseeing Brother of Mine, when the pods land, strike at the forces as they try to set up a foothold. Ludd, strike now, get in amongst them. If they cannot get to each other, they cannot form an effective force. Vera, send your Pelvic Legion forth, sunder the enemy beneath your boots and iron. This day is not lost yet."

A flash of inspiration shot through his body.

"All commanders; Cancel that. let them regroup."

Maverick was tired once more. His brilliant strategic mind controlled an entire corps of thrusting forces. But there was no time for rest. The space marines were coming for them.

"No time for respite. Defense Command, Target the ships."

He would let the forces land, and once they had, he would destroy the ships, and Nikev would be forced to come planetside once more. And then he would have his vengeance.

Coc0loc0 took place in his pod and put his the safety rack (or whatever it's called) around his chest. As the door was being closed he shouted out: "THERE IS ONLY THE EMPEROR!".

"HE IS OUR SHIELD AND PROTECTOR!" all other marines answered from their pods.

And after the doors were closed, the countdown was heard over the bay's intercom. as the voice came to one he whispered to himself: "Or at least i hope he will be..."

The pods launched...

"Gak" Ludd said as he dived back under the window of the third story builing his unit were occupying, dozens of LRBTs had fallen to the loyalist Space Marines and their dreadnoughts were doing an an effective job of keeping his infantry and more importantly tread fethers (rocket launchers) pinned down. He sighed then opened the Vox, "Be advised Thrust command, Ludd is pulling back, south-west sector is compromised."

(OOC - ludd, dude, i'm still falling from the sky, i can't have dreadnoughts repelling you..)

(OOC Just remember- WIBBLY WOBBLY TIMEY WIMEY!(dr who joke) I dunno maybe it's a vanguard force, they're your dreadnoughts you tell ME what they're doing there)

Maverick was in awe. That was a gakload of dreadnoughts.

"Ludd, LET them regroup and form a base. That's an ORDER!"

(OOC - Fine)

It seemed the red defiance had already launched their pods to make their marines act like a forward force. Again without orders. And the force was, although small, doing a damn good job at keeping off the nearest thruster force.

"Yes Sir, I will pull back and form a tight thrusting cordon."
