That Executioner turret - does Forge World still sell it separately as an upgrade kit or is it just in the complete kit?

The tanks look awesome and the colours work very well together. Will you be making any more Valkyries or Vendettas?

The turret I dunno what forgeworld do now. This one is very old and second hand I dint buy it new just refurbed it.

I dunno about more vendettas. With 6th ed comming this year with the real chance of huge changes to the way things work I think im going to hold fire. I nearly brought a second one to take to the april throne of skulls but to be honest apart from the fact that they cost to much I hated building and painting it Im afraid. It was a job of requirement not joy lol.

Anyway hant had a chance to paint this weekend got called into work yesterday and was airsofting today. If you dont know what airsoft is heres a pic.

I've got some Cadians but they aren't really similar to yours, I went all boring and did them quite standard. Your picture made me laugh, don't take this the wrong way but it's the sort of thing the press get hold of after you've shot 20 people and they say here was a pic 10 yrs ago, there were always signs he was unhinged! I haven't played airsoft but it does look very cool! Does it hurt much?

not really, well yea but you get used to it (at least i did) although it dosent hurt as bad as a paintball being as a bb is much smaller

Hes right a paintball hurts more but why fire paintballs 20 meters with a shity tube looking gas gun when you can fire bbs more maccurately at 60 meters with a proper gun an m16 a3 ras being the one in my photo. So much better. Yeah your not alone thinking thats a dodgy picture most of my work mates are like wtf when they see them

Anyway I will be doing the wash work on that vanquisher tonight so pics soon.

Right guys. Little update. Today I started painting the new melta gunners i will put pics up when I finish a couple of them. Maybe later tonight.

Right chaps. Things have come together today. I have finished the leman russ vanquisher and the third standard leman russ hull to replace the plasma cannon one. I will also finish my baneblade today so its all good.

Might get some more work done on the melta gun vets today aswell. I will point out that as of yet in the few games I have played my melta guns hant done anything. Also I was thinking maybe droping 1 melta in each squad and putting a heavy flamer in? What do you guys think of that one?

I like the classic Russ turret, the new one is not so great IMHO. What is that stowage on the back of the right sponson?

I dont like the new one either they look to high tech. That bag is from the ravenwing upgrade sprue I think.

Ok next up is number 1. I took out another leman russ to strip and add to the ever growing ranks of refurbs and it turned out that it was number 1. Thats right my first ever leman russ tank being a good 14 years old and having 4 different paint jobs was a state. Now it is stripped and repaired ready to be base coated.

I figured as it is number 1 it should be my first squadron command tank which will head up alpha squad number A116. And as such I have given it some more advanced lighting and targeting equipment to show its rank.

Hey everyone. Quick update for you all. Still play testing my army at this stage. But I am thinking of swapping out marbo and instead having a 6th sentinel and a heavy flamer in each of my 3 veteran squads instead of 1 of the meltas. Thoughts on this?

is it just for looks that they all have heavy flamers? the left one looks fine, natural posing, but i think that the middle one is a little too turned to the side on those odd legs.. but if you are like me and just throw those into he pile to be picked last during building, i know those legs just overall suck

They do all have heavy flamers. Its one for each of the 3 squads.

I know what you mean about him but I was strapped for legs and thats the only way he would fit. Its not an imposable possition but it is definantly an ow gak theres some one behind me look.

Ok guys hant really been in the mood for painting this week and what I have done has been for the club I run. We have made a big old space port and every week I am bringing a bit of it home to paint. Here is this weeks just thought you might like to see it. Its just a little bastion.









Simple paint job but I think its nice. Not like anyone will be greatfull for it anyway Hope you like.

The mini-bastion looks good. Terrain is always underappreciated

You've got drybrushing down to an art now, it seems

How about a little weathering? Depending on the story of your spaceport, you could do just a little or a whole lot (but I've never seen a port that didn't look well used )

Im afraid this is as far as the bastion goes. Its not mine its my clubs and its jsut not worth spending much time on the club stuff as people abuse it to much. Just a nice neat gamming standard is far more than most clubs get.

I just finished 2 of the forgeworld melta vets and have finished building and base coated the 3 heavy flamer guys. Tryed to take some pics but the light is crap at the minute so I couldnt get any worth putting online. I will try again tomorrow.

Thanks for the drybrushing compliment though chap. Just a random question is there any guard models in particular any one would like to see me do as I have quite a cache of models to do and as far as tanks go at least I could probably do any requests. Also have an arvus lighter that needs doing.

No Im afraid thats not what I ment mate.

What I have got going is a new command chimera. I obtained this from a mate who done the main conversion years ago. So I cant claim to of done the main conversion. I have simply moved the turret ring back added all the storage and cleaned it up a bit. Im thinking of mounting a predator turret with a multi laser into it. Ive got an old metal predator turret to which might look cool?

Please share thoughts on this one.

I am going to make some chimeras with the turrets set at the back like yours at some point. Its been on my to do list for a while I thibk they are cool.

Kind of stating the obvious, but I think it will look much better when painted. Looks like it will be great though.

Your other stuff is top class - you seem to have mastered drybrushing and highlighting to a T. The Russ's look great.

I think it's a cool concept, and I'm ever supportive of people converting their vehicles (especially chimeras, as I don't particularly like the design).

I really like the body mods that you've pulled off with your chimera. I think the extra bulk looks more realistic, and I like the profile that it has.

That being said, I'm not a fan of the turret, mostly because it changes the profile that I liked so much! I also think the multilaser looks too puny on the predator turret. What about a smaller, non-manned turret (i.e. even smaller than the standard chimera turret)? I think that would keep the first profile and match the scale of the multilaser better.
