Subject: MANTIC News thread! (Shipping video from Mantic, p.6)
So everyone knows, the guys from Mantic are going to be announcing some things on Beasts of War's Turn 8 video today. Current rumours are that they'll be announcing the release of the rule set for their sci-fi game, Warpath, and the first four armies (Space Dwarves, Space Orcs, Space Elves and Space Humans).

Coming soon to a store near you!
It’s the last Monday of the month and you all know what that means… June’s new releases are now shipping!
This release is a real corker for all of you Undead players who can now add Wraiths, Vampire Soul Reavers and a new Undead Elites Army Set to your collection.
The new Wraiths are plastic resin and come complete with a variety of weapons. These ghostly warriors used to be produced in metal, but by switching them to Plastic Resin, we’ve managed to double the quantity you get in the box at no extra cost!
The Soul Reaver Vampire Knights on the other hand are a Plastic Resin/Metal hybrid kit with a brand new Vampire champion in the unit. This figure is also available seperately.
Finally, there’s the brand-spanking new Undead Elites Army Set – the perfect companion to any Undead Army Set or a great way to start an Undead army all on it’s own. With 10 Plastic Resin Revenant Knights and 5 new Plastic Resin Wraiths, the kit also contains Ghouls, Revenants and a catapult!
So there you have it – the black clouds are rolling in and the warehouse is full of purple lightning, which I guess must mean the first boxes have been packaged up and are leaving the warehouse, no doubt being carried away to a store near you by some devilish winged postman (we call him Igor).
I once again shall use older topics! The new Orc Morax (get the joke?) hybrid kit is up for preorder. Not really into the orcs but they look alright
If the new edition of Dwarf King’s Hold wasn’t green enough (Orcy likes to remind us it features Orcs), our Orc range is about to be bolstered by the Morax. These fearsome warriors aren’t content with wielding just one axe oh no, they need to have more, and now you’ll be able to field these excellent models in your Orc army. Morax do not usually carry the shields favoured by lesser Orc warriors, instead they carry two huge weapons, one in each hand. These chunks of metal are too heavy to be wielded by a man, but Morax are capable of raining down a flurry of punishing blows upon their enemies.
A metal hybrid kit, those of you who own our Abyssal Dwarfs will provide testimony to how well the kits go together and paint up, and these Morax add a swathe of new heads and weapons to our ever-expanding Orc army, as well as being very capable of dishing out the damage in Kings of War (don’t believe us? Check out the Army List).
These figures are now available to pre-order (and don’t forget you’ll get a free Journal if you spend over £50) and, as ever, drop us a comment below, let us know what you think and maybe we’ll show you the Gore Riders…
This Set Includes:
2 x Plastic Orc Ax Sprues (6 Figures)
2 x Plastic Orc Greatax Sprues (4 Figures)
1 x Metal Morax Heads and Axes Set
1 x Plastic Orc Command Sprue
10 x 25mm Bases

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Another update, it seems that they're gonna update KoW before Warpath comes out which includes including in some new units such as Orclings
One of the things that’ll be hitting big before Warpath hits towards the end of this year (and it’ll hit like a Greatax’s two handed halberd) is the updated Kings of War rules and Army Lists. Part of this will be adding in the existing units we make that don’t have rules (like the Soul Reavers or Dwarf Rangers for instance), and one of these units will be the Orclings. We’ve actually made it possible to have a couple of bases of Orclings in our new Orc Army Set, in addition to the 30 Ax, 20 Greatax and 10 Gore Riders of course, and these characterful blighters look as good on their own base as they do perched on top of a loping Orc Ax Warrior. Orclings are great little pieces for adding even more character to a Mantic Unit so we’re looking forwards to seeing what it is you guys do with yours!

Kings of War – The 3-Year Plan
So, as promised, we bring you today’s video on the 3-Year plan for Kings of War – and Warpath of course. Over to Ronnie, filmed with a back-up after Orcy ate the Flip Cam. So there you have it, this coming year will all be about balancing the new army lists, which (cheekily) we’ve just seen preview copies of – of course, you’ll get your hands on one of the three new army lists on Friday, only so long as you are signed up to our newsletter – get on it now!
Check back tomorrow for more Kings of War goodness!

Kings of War gets new units, upgraded rules and even more death!
Funnily enough we like the Kings of War rules, and 1 year of playing and gaming with them has only made us like them more. We believe they are a clean, simple rules set that encourages strategic play, varied and interesting army selections and – lots of Death!
We also believe it needs more army lists – and while our community has been fantastic at writing some great fan lists (see them all at Wikipedia) we know we need to make some more. So we have asked the irrepressible Alessio Cavatore to do two things:
1) Update the first 5 army lists. The first three army lists were written as we first produced the rules, and when Mantic had a much smaller range of models available. Since then we have released lots of new boxed sets, and all these need rules to accompany them. We have also had loads of great ideas about sets we will produce in the future – some soon, some further down the line. These army lists are all being updated with both the units we have released, and some we intend to (creating some great modelling opportunities until then!).
2) Write some new army lists. While updates to existing armies are all well and good there is nothing as exciting as some new ones. We have now produced three complete new army lists that are all tournament legal – and while Mantic don’t have models for all these ranges – we will in the not too distant future – so keep your eyes peeled for whole hordes of Goblins and the evil and vicious Twilight Kin.
All this means that over the next few weeks nearly 100 new units will become available for your favourite new, mass-battle fantasy wargame.
Of course, what would Mantic be without some teasing, so we’re putting one of the three new army lists exclusively in Friday’s newsletter – you must be signed up if you want to get it first, so make sure you tell your friends and get signed up!
Check back tomorrow for when Ronnie gives us the breakdown of Mantic’s three year plan – not a video to be missed!
Telling us what they intend to do for the next three years!? The fools! How will the keep interest in their games now? Everyone knows the proper way to build excitement is to not say anything at all until a week before the product is released!
OK, so it's not detailed minutiae about every release, but I had wondered if they planned on releasing something like a rulebook with more fluff. Too bad it won't be for another couple years.

To be fair, its only for the next 18 months (we're in the middle of year 2 now), but its still nice to be kept informed by people who want my money (and to be honest will be getting it ).
Interested to see this year's 'mini rulebook' and how much more depth the advanced rules will bring. Glad they are revising and expanding all the army lists as well. Wonder what army list we'll get on friday? Goblins or Twilight Kin would be the obvious as they both have imminent model releases, but the human list is the one people really want and if it's already written (as it would seem from Ronnie holding the book which its going to be in - could be a mock-up though I suppose) it would be nice to see.
While you sleep, they'll be waiting...
Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

The main purpose of changing the set is to provide two armies of equal points so people can play fair games straight out of the box, so I suspect they won't swap out the Dwarves.

Just for a little note to anyone in the York area of England. A store called Boys now stocks Mantic figures. Making York well stocked with it's own GW store, Pirateer Press being sold in the comic shop Traveling Man, and now Mantic in Boys on Goodramgate.
As a result I may be investing in some of the Ork figures.
