Subject: MANTIC Orcs up for Sale Monday! (Many painted images, p.5)
They really are awesome models. Their units look so chunky and large when all grouped together. Golem have done a fantastic job with painting this green beastie! They might be repetetive like before, but hell do they look good.
I know that I post here allot, but I was just browsing through the Mantic site, and...
I found these really cool pictures! They are in the background section of the new Orc hub. To quote an interesting paragraph:
"Orc War Stories are constantly updated as new Orc units and warmachines are released from Mantic Games.
Could this be the "Fight Wagons" and Chariots listed in the Orc KoW Beta list, or possibly a hint of new artillery units?
To quote an even more interesting paragraph:
"Their minds are narrow and as ugly as their faces; their greatest preoccupation being the invention of ever-greater torments for the innocent and good. Humans and Elves alike (the Dwarfs know better) mistake their inability to concentrate and propensity to sudden, mindless violence as stupidity, but Orcs are far from stupid. From their father god Garkan the Black they have inherited an affinity for making; and though their creations are crude and ugly to others’ eyes, they are strong. Orcs are capable of awesome feats of smithying and engineering when inspired - the might of their war machines and weapons is surpassed only by the twisted ingenuity of their instruments of torture."
So could this mean that we might get some more really cool things for the Orcs in the future?
It's "Orc Week" on the Mantic Blog at the moment, and time's almost up for the competition that they're running for their new upcoming Undead cavalry unit.
I expect to see more pictures of the Orc Greatax Warriors as the week unfolds!

Well, I have to say that their faces are very different from the Ax Warriors... but they look so very good! At first glance, I am not seeing any obvious model repetition amongst their ranks. Now I look harder I can begin to see it. This is a good thing, however!
Well, I was debating buying a Scibor Chaos Dwarf Army in my "No money for GW this year" mode. I think this sent me over the edge---considering they will fit in nicely with his range. Awesome job Mantic---I think you nailed this one.
Thanks for the update Kroot, as usual, you rock.

Greatax's look much more meaner (aka better) than the previous set. Guess I'll have to give them a look over. Any plans for a Warhost/Army set? Those are very good deals

There is one £150 and two £99 Orc army deals up on their site

Engineer: "Because it's a gift shop!"

I know those exist but I was mainly referring to the smaller box deals
Just a quick heads up, Mantic are having another warehouse clearance sale, not much on offer but the prices are very attractive
Here's the relavent bit of the newsletter:
Well it is real fun times here at Mantic Towers.
First, while some (ahem!) companies are raising their prices – we are selling a few overstock items cheap! Selected lines are on sale for over 50% off! During the warehouse move we discovered a few piles of stock that we realised we have more than we need. Click here to have a look what we have on offer! Get them while you can though – because when they are gone they are gone!!
I've just grabbed enough spearmen to make a horde (already had a command box hanging around), not sure what I'll do with them beyond having a nice painting project at the moment but I might give Kings of War a try in the future.

The Orc Gore is exactly what I wanted to see from Mantic. I'm going to be getting those for sure.
Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Subject: MANTIC News thread! (Shipping video from Mantic, p.6)
A very handsome offer for loads of Mantic Elves from Warlord Games:
Warlord Games wrote:Elf and Safety
Mantic models are pretty inexpensive compared to some other manufacturers. And with other companies increasing their prices they're even better value. And to top it off we thought we'd knock a couple of quid off too.
So here you go, this is our Elf and Safety offer. The name's awful but we think the saving's enough for you to forgive us.
This deal includes: -
Stormwind Cavalry Box
Elf Lord on Dragon
2x Bolt Throwers
Palace Guard
Bowmen Regiment
Seaguard Regiment
Shieldwall Detachment
Scout Patrol
That's £136.94 worth of Elves for a bargain £100. And if that's not enough there's a big cherry on the top - you can also choose a FREE Paints of War or Tools of War boxed set.

Let the speculation begin!
The first unknown looks a lot like a spear elf imo. The second looks like a shorter figure possibly but I dotn know. Some type of pointed hat/nose?. IIRC the current rumors for additional factions is a human faction and/or another evil faction

The first one is a plastic/metal hybrid Dark Elf. The second is a (metal?) Goblin packmaster. Apart from those two, the other rumoured factions are Ogres and Humans.
