There's a difference between being "Creepy nasty" and simply not " Conforming to the general Norm" though, someone with long hair...that's CLEAN,dressed in black, wearing a band t-shirt or what have you ,doesn't IMO qualify as "Creepy nasty",particularly if their mannerisms are those of the "average" guy.
For me "Creepy Nasty" is defined by smelly, sullen, reclusive individuals who seem incapable of carrying on a conversation about anything other than their little plastic men.

See here's where I disagree with you. There's this lovely guy who comes every day at 9.00 to my local GW, and stays there until 1.00 before abruptly leaving. He's got a bit of a BO problem, not gonna lie, he's a bit of a recluse, and he can't make eye contact, unless he's chatting about his miniatures. Guess what? He's autistic. So from my experience, I'd say a creepy nasty guy would be someone who cares too much about their models, or if they rage like a pit bull on 'roids when they lose a game.

That is weird. I don't think other mannerisms really should be taken into account, you do't know their background, and you don't know why they're acting the way they are.

Woah, woah, woah. I describe a certain type of gamer that has long, scraggly, unkempt hair, inch long fingernails (yellowed too), and a huge gut and MGS jumps down by throat and insults my mother because he's presumably overweight, jumps to the conclusion that I'm insulting 'large' gamers and I'm the one whining?

I don't give a flying feth how much you weigh, but there is no excuse not to be clean. I've had shoulder length hair before and I washed and conditioned that mess at least once a day because it was necessary and if you have longer hair you have to maintain it. Trimming your nails takes a minute and most to do and doesn't even even need to be done a daily basis.

Mayhap certain people should not take statements out of context and assume the whole world is aligned against them.

Well...I certainly wasn't including people with Autism into my "equation"...but..point taken my friend.
Perhaps the fact that 95% of my games take place at homes, among a small group ,prevents me from fully appreciating the "FLGS creepy factor"...however,when I am in the stores most of the people there seem a decent enough group, sure there are some that make your eyes water as you pass them or make you believe they wouldn't know what to do with a woman if one dropped from the sky into their lap,but by and large most seem like "regular guys".

So, after reading 7 pages, here's my summary of this thread:

1) Guy posts saying he creeps people out and isn't sure why
2) Responses make wild assumptions about his personality, appearance and hygiene
3) Everyone eventually settles on "be more laid back" and "shower more"
4) OP responds That's too much work, I regret making this thread.
5) Thread immediately dissolves into gamers yelling at gamers about their appearance
6) Personal attacks commence

I don't think the OP was intentionally trying to troll, but he's done an excellent job of accidentally trolling.

Kudos!

Amaya,
You listed several traits, including having long hair and being overweight as contributing to this individuals negative features. Therefore we can construe that you view these two features as undesirable and open to ridicule or disgust.

How else was it supposed to be viewed?

Now you're saying you don't care about people's weight or hair.

Mayhap certain people should construct their posts with a little more forethought and not attempt frail defence of their mistakes when they make them. There is no weakness in just apologising for your poorly worded statement.

Ah, you can't tell the difference between clean hair and filthy hair.

Keep crying, your only about 3 feet down need another 3. Well, you might need another 5 or 6.
