So can lasguns. Lasguns can penetrate terminator armor if they hit a weak point. Boltguns cannot penetrate carapace armor if they hit its plates. This is demonstrated in the lore, in the game, and in the rpg (as mentioned; the best example is that a bolter shell hit Jurgen directly on the head, and his helmet protected him from no longer having a head).

This is represented by the weapons AP value. AP5 completely and utterly ignores flak armor, which is one of the most effective armors ever devised. And half the time, it penetrates carapace armor when it hits a weaker area.

In soul hunter there is 50 carapace armored guardsmen on a ship boarded by night lords. ONE marine walks into the room roars and proceeds to slaughter the guardsmen.

Thats sounds like a serious case of movie marine

in reality the marine would be utterly cut down and may take a few with him

People joke about movie marines, but that's actually what marines are supposed to be like, not the tabletop quality of strength. They are not only stronger and tougher, but much, much faster than humans. Their brain also processes thought much quicker. The ability to acquire a target, determine angle and shot placement, fire one round, and move on to the next is child's play to an astartes. Hell, to walk in and assess the entire room of 50 men and rapid fire to hit everyone once is simple procedure.

So no, your flashlights are not effective.

your forgetting that Lasguns have a variable powersetting and can punch though a marines armour on the highest setting, though it does drain the battery, in addition a bolter does not have a 50 round clip, as well as this guard are not as bad a people think not much could stand up to 50 shots from anything

In the case of the Soul Hunter reference, didnt the main character like release an ultra-sonic scream to daze the guardsmen (who had riot-gun/shotgun equivalents) then while they were dazed, him and his buddies begin to slaughter the bridge?

This is my Leman Russ. There are many out there like it, but this one is mine. Without it, I am useless. Without me, it is useless.

Obliterators: They've got a gun for that.

You're probably right. I would've quoted the book but didn't have it on me at the moment. yes he did send out an ultrasonic scream that deafened and stunned them.
in the eldar striking scorpion book (forgot the name) ten marines board a craft world with thousands of guard and like a company of marines. the ten marines killed twenty striking scorpions some banshees and some guardians with just their bolters IIRC. Im 100% sure there were twenty scorpions killed though. In a later post I will quote the the book if I can find it.

If you want Super powerful marines go with the MOVIE MARINES

If marines could only kill 6-15 guardsmen, they would be absolutely useless and would have been retconned by 2nd ed.

Seriously, that is absolutely mind-numbingly dumb, 6-15?

A SoB is worth at least 6-15.
