There is still no detail and people are praising these things. Raging Heroes makes great stuff, but a blurry image doesn't deserve a 10/10 yet.

For all we know, they could have man-faces and chunky hair.

Something sculpted to that caliber of pose, proportion cannot possibly lack the competence of what you are doubting :3

Recently I've had an urge to do a WoC army, using AoW Apocalypse Warriors, Beastmen as Marauders, and the Raging Heroes Manticore as my Khorne lord on mount. My FLGS has some in stock, so I checked out the price. I expected to be shocked.

I was, but only by the fact that the Raging Heroes Manticore is cheaper than the GW Manticore. Suddenly, this army got a lot more appealing.

Raging heroes wrote:First of our 10 Blood Vestals

The positive feedback we've received after our first two Blood Vestals teasers has exceeded our expectations, and we're doing all we can to make sure that these new releases meet your needs as best as possible.

We will continue to upload new images throughout the week. You will find below a comprehensive response to questions that have been asked on our blog and on many forums about these minis. Please note that pre-orders will start this week.

First, here is a brand-new image of one of our 10 different Blood Vestals. (see below)

"What's the scale?"

This has been the most common question. Initially we were thinking of going with 30mm because it seemed to be a good size to please everyone but apparently, most of you want 32mm. Therefore, the scale will be 32mm.

"Can we have a science-fiction version?"

Our biggest surprise was the enthusiasm from sci-fi gamers. We had thought that the blood Vestals would be of interest to Fantasy fans… Boy, were we wrong! And so, we seriously thinking about a SF version for these ladies. But we shall need your help. We'll post a quick survey to gather your thoughts and suggestions and what your needs are, and post in on this blog later on this week.

"What material? What options?"

Obviously, many of you want plastics because of its modularity. Unfortunately, this is beyond our scope at the moment, as the start-up cost for a steel mould for plastics runs around 10 000 Euros… But we are actively seeking alternative solutions for the future....

And so, our Blood Vestals will be in white metal, which remains for now the most efficient as well as cost-effective solution for them.

Some have also wondered about the possibility of multi-poses. While this is often interesting for certain types of figurines, particularly for armoured characters, pre-defined posing is a good option to help ensure fluid and elegant movement for characters with minimum clothing. However, we know that you want maximum flexibility and that's why we came up with 10 different poses to help you create much variety in your army.

The Fantasy version will not have optional weapons in order to maintain pricing as low as possible.

For the SF version however, we are thinking about offering interchangeable arms for each mini. We expect this to up the final price by about 1 Euro per model, so 5 Euro per box. It is therefore important to learn for you whether you prefer to pay less or have more options.

"How much? Can I pre-order?"

We are frantically working to finish everything before we open pre-orders and announce pricing.
We expect to do so later on this week.

My comment: I prefer 30mm scale to fit the other Witch Elves.
I would also prefer a bit more clothes, at least a bra.

The sculpt took into account raising areas where the make up would be easier painted.

ahhh the grimdark of war where war can be delayed as shaving is needed because those crotch covering thongs are so dang low.

I see gravity has the reverse effect and actually lifts boobs higher as they get older.

I like the art work, but the sculpt is lacking is some form of realism. That hip, thigh, waist and shoulder ratio looks way out of wack. I think it is a poor sculpt.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Also not a big fan of this first "real" image... just doesn't stand out from similar, past models imo (or at least, in any good way).

I hate to be panning these RH releases lately, but I want to see them take a risk... the manticore was one and was a fantastic hit as far as I can tell.

I'm not a huge fan of the face (and TBH - am not in the market for any sort of Witch-elf regardlless) but other than that I think it's ok.Still interested in seeing the remaining variants at least. If I were building a DE army I would at least consider these over the GW version. (Especially if they are reasonably priced).

If I were RH though, I wouldn't bother releasing a sci-fi set, just make sure the weapons/arms detach at reasonable points so that they are easily convertable for people interested in that. (From what I've read - quite a few of those people were already very interested in buying the fantasy version anyhow).

I've posted my own feedback, though it hasn't shown up yet. Short version: make the hips narrower and the waist less narrow, to make the body shape more natural and so the head doesn't look so large in comparison to her torso. Lower the hairline a bit, as at least the first step to make the face look better.

Feedback is only posted after approvement, takes a while.

They are still open to feedback though they plan a preorder release soon.
First reaction:
Raging Heroes wrote:the latest comments here make me think that we were right on our first take… Better be closer to 28-30mm to maintain cohesion with other Fantasy minis.
I guess that maybe it’s the Sci-Fi gamers that are into 32mm scale and got us confused? What do you think?

Lots of comments wanting a less nude version, maybe they react as well. Seems to be a computer model, so changes are easier to make.

I don't care about them being nude or not, but really, this armoured underboob-hook thing is about the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on a miniature.

And her head is bigger than her entire abdomen. That's not an issue of being "heroic scale" vs. "realistic". That's just screwed up.

It's obviously a very cold battlefield....

Same feedback as others---ditch the nudity, shrink the head a bit and you have a nice mini.

Huge Head?
Wonky proportions?
Impossible "clothing"?
Unrealistic boobs?

This mini looks like it just came out of a really bad hentai manga.

I'm not such a prude that the nudity bothers me or anything. But the truth is by making the models topless, it dose limit my uses for them. In all honesty I'd say give them crotchless/topless Roman gladiator armour at this point. Would look alot cooler/make more scene then what they are wearing currently.
*Shrugs*

I hope to see these improve all the same. Either way naked or not, if they look good enough I will probably pick some up for D&D.

Deadly Dark Eldar Warrior

The null zone

Initial thoughts:

Shoulder straps way too chunky
Leg armour overlays not sharp enough (they look cloth like)
Sword thicknesses should be 2/3 of what they are now
Head should be about 10-20% less wide (this could be altered by pulling the face around to the back to meet closer- if viewing the face as two planes)

Elves are meant to be elegant- the above details unfortuantly make the sculpt look like a Gary Morley tribute.. their faces were never right..... Bizarrley, I think the nakedness and the feminine body are actually spot on for heroic style females.... the boob underwire is a very nice detail and would push to breasts up. The hair and crown could do with a touch of refinement also.

I guess overall, if this got the sharpness and sublime elegance that RH female commissar has, then they would have the winning solution.

I look forward to seeing the final results!

They're based off "fanatical, depraved Elves" who are also devotees of a god of murder and battle. The Witch Elves that GW has done--while scantily clad--have also retained armor in their various iterations. Look at the concept art that MGS posted. That's still outwardly "sensual", yet not "boobs!".

It's sensible that they're changing it back to being 28-30mm, but what's with SciFi gamers wanting 32mm? Most major SciFi games are 28mm and fantasy games are 32mm or 28mm.
