the heavy weaponsteam is absolutly wicked! where the heck is that rocket rack from? that is so cool an idea!

the grenade gunner is a mit smudgy with the yellow...dunno what happend there...

and the knight... hmmm... he looks pretty cool too...for my taste he needs a head...something that could go for a head... as for the parts... absolutly no idea...onyl the two heavy bolters form the HWteam sprue^^

as for a name... i think rusty wouldn´t do him justice...but what about striker...hmm... i think i have to let that sit a bit... later on maybe i come up with a better name...^^

the rocket rack is from the empire rocket battery

i think i have to get me that bit... would look pretty sweet on my guys as well^^

you get some rocket racks, lose missile's and a bunch of what not's.
there is even an gattling gun in the box. pretty nice set

okay things are a little bit slow on my steampunk guy's. but i got a little bit distracted by LOTR. ik want to use isengard models as crusaders, preachers and al sorts of what nots. here are some pic's with what i want them to count as

the ones with hand weapon shield are clearly crusaders


the same goes for these guy's as for the normal uruk hai.


and the bastard to lead them all renegade inquisitor Bearian the Grim. note i will only use grima (the black cloaked one) and i will give him a nice story and servitors to represent his wargear. this way i can easely change equipment.

I like the idea behind this and hope it works for you, as for the rivets have you any GS and a small rubber sculptor tool ? If you have what I do is mix the GS take a really small blob stick it roughly where you want it. ( small blob is like slightly larger than the rivet size you want ) Yes that small !

Then take the sculpting tool and make sure it is pushed on to the surface securely (I cannot emphasise how important this is ) At this point it will look like a small blob of GS but spread almost flat on your model.

Now wet the end of the tool and slowly push at the edges of the GS to the middle to form a small square shape, now if you like this look you can leave it or you can continue to round it of more Riveted shape, at the end you can gently flattened the top or just leave it as it is.

interesting idea... tho i have heard that LOTR minis are slightly smaller...more truscale than heroic scale...but if that is ok with your fellow gamers... i like the idea to use urukhs for other uses... they have lots of nice features to them...


and LDD...one of these days you should do a GS step by step...dang we should have gangpressed you to do that as a initiating piece...

I'm checking in! I'm liking the UH conversion Idea but as vik said they are a tad smaller than 40k. Even smaller than the really small slim fragale guys, which can break on the leg. (Like tau or necrons I think). Anyway I'm liking the stuff man! Hey how about you check out my blog too? (Link is in signutre).

haha yeah size isn't the problem. if i want to i can make a high base so they stand a little bit taller. i sorted out my LOTR models
I got from a friend and i can make 3 squads of 10 or 6 of 5. it dependence on what kind of transport i want. rhino, chimera or razorback.
I lean towards the razorbacks because there isn't a lot of shooting in the list.
the only shooting will be coreaz and his servitor squad. they are there to kill my inquisitor. so that would be a very fun modeling challange

so when will you start with the first model? i am really looking forward to your expierience here...as LOTR minis can be get way cheap on evilbay^^

well for now there isn't much to look at. there metal models, base coated black and then painted metal again..... why i did that i really don't know tomorrow or technically today i will take some pic's of the first 3 models. there the basic models with nothing modified (for now).

i have some ideas for the shields which i will first draw on a piece of paper before i build it. which is new to me as i normally slab some parts together and then see what i made.....

welll starting something totally new... thats a good idea to make a plan and sketch something together...

grimma wormtongue as an inquisitor...wow...that´s something new for sure^^ ...intersting idea to use badab black to build up the black... for that i am eager to see the results...

the rusty knight...what main color will all his metalworks be in? and for that matter... why did you choose to do the details first?

@Vik i will try and take a pic from my FW commisar who has his cloak made the same way. and why i did the details first? spur of the moment idea and i wanted to try out freehand ribbons. i like it as it's my first try

Rusty is writen with a normal pen. yeah i never get any good letters with a brush so i cheat with a pen

LOL... dont feel guilty there... me too^^ and heck i even fail with the pen...makes you draw your sword and look if the pen is still mightier^^

Are they finecast? Look good! Btw I'd convet em If I was you becuse LOTR figs from the pack may not go down well with some players!
