Yeah, this project is intense and this thread deserves a lot more attention than it is getting. Scratch build from bottom up is something I don't see that as much these days. Your work is the epitome of the wargaming spirit and DIY. Great job all around.

Brilliant job HK.
I like the tree. The brickwork is great and the little banners and candles make it look as if it's still in use despite the run down and ruined look of the statue.

Brickwork on that shrine looks fantastic, right down to the little water staining and algae/moss. Detail like that just makes me all gooey inside (in a good way).

Great job all around with the build all the extra work really sells the project. I love hat you took the time to vary the color of the bricks, as well as painting one with moss growing and the weathering effects.

The only hung missing is bird poop that every statue magically attracts.

Thanks everyone .

And @ Theophony, I did actully consider the bird poop thing at one point, after looking at tons of reference photos, but decided against it...
There is such a thing as too much detail (almost )

This is an amazing piece of scenery. The level of realism is awesome... I can add no more praise other than to say, you rock...

that piece is simply stunning, what I love the most is that you didn´t paint every stone in the same colour but instead have actual individual stones...that´s realism for you...

What size / scale is the SM piece? I'm guessing that it's a larger scale?

Yes he's larger scale, about 4 Inches high without the base, almost 100mm.

Stupidly I forgot to take any scale comparison shots before I sent It off

I haven't posted anything here for ages, so I thought I'd randomly share one or two of the things I've been up to recently.

First of are the small terrain bricks I've been producing for the last 4 - 5 months,
the demand for them has been amazing, but also a bit problematic, as I only made one mold, and have been unable to keep up with the demand.

So I decided to go into full mass production mode, and knock out 4 new molds,
You'll see the master and the finished molds in the pics below, plus a few piece's I've built from them in the past.

Once I've restocked, I plan to start building some new terrain pieces with the bricks,
and maybe cast a few of them to sell.

With that in mind I'd like to hear what kind of pieces you would like to see,
and if you have any thoughts or ideas please let me know .

I've decided I should try and post more regular updates on this thread, covering all the projects i'm working on,
and keeping you all up to date on their progress (easier said than done)

I hope to be doing a lot more sculpting soon, as I've almost finished building a new work area (pics to follow shortly)
which will give me loads more space, and allow me to focus on some bigger sculpting projects.

I've noticed people have started collecting up scrap ready for Skalk BloodAxe's Junk Pile Contest (link below)

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/563097.page

So I thought I should probably get started to, and after a few minutes scrap hunting I had a nice pile of bit's and pieces ready to go,
all I need do now is build something from it (this is the fun bit)

i expect an artistic pile...some very interesting pieces shown here... could be worth of a whole scratchbuild vehicle even...

Well I have two Ideas, so I might just build both and then pick the best one .

I also need to do some painting tests regarding rust and weathering effects,
and painting's not my strong point so it might take a while.

Skalk gave some hints as to how rust might be paintingwise achieved...in his main thread...

It's taken 5 days and 4 sheets of MDF, but I've finally finished my shelf, Casting tray and new sculpting table.
When I get my energy back I might actually do some sculpting .

Its taken a while to read the whole thread but I have to say I am inspired by the art, the detail, and the vision, you have.

your pieces have such atmosphere.

Many thanks, I need to get myself some bricks and start a few creations of my own, when you create your bases what do you use.
