Similar story.
Had a Rhino full of Plague Marines try to drive through some ruins. Didn't bother taking a dozer blade because I wasn't really planning on going through difficult terrain, but I did it anyway. Failed my dangerous terrain check, so I got immobilized. In the shooting, I couldn't see anything so I rolled for repair. I managed to fix the Rhino, and my plague marines rejoiced. Next turn I started trying to move out of the ruins but failed the dangerous terrain check again. Made a successful repair and everyone had a good time.
Turn four, I tried to move out of the ruins again. Failed the test and wrecked the Nurgle damned Rhino. I came so close to flipping a table >:|

In 5th i was playing a kid with Mono-Nurgle Marines (really well painted too.) Well my Interrogator Chaplain leads a squad of TH/SS deathwing command squads into a nurgle lord in termie armor with LC and his terminator bodyguards. Smash all of them except the lord (the kid forgot that the lord is fearless0 so we rolled leadership and that lord failed 3 LD checks at 10 in a row and ran off the board.

My friend and I played a 6th ed game my nids against his new chaos with the new book I was winning by a bit and his lord who had just seen all his berserker's killed decided to challenge my mycetic spore I accepted as it was too cool not to I over-watched and wounded his lord once and then he proceeded to slaughter the spore, my friend was so happy as he got to use the boon table, as if by fate he spawned himself, to make things worse there was a very angry tervigon standing nearby who had the biomancy power for D3 extra attacks and initiative I got a 6 and his spawn power was the extra armour, the tervigon went first and slaughtered the spawn giving me slay the warlord.

4th Ed Daemon Prince in close combat with GK master Stern, 6 outta 6 hits with WS3, ID on 2+, 5 outta 6. 4++..... 5 outta 5 saves. DP suffers ID from Stern's force weapon shortly after. OR
Catachan Demo team survive 2 turns of bolters (1 of rapid firing) in open ground without a single casualty. Throw Demo charge, it scatters back. Kills them and their chimera.

A couple in one game.

It was a small game of my DA vs. DE, my warlord was Ezekiel, his was an archon with the 2+ invuln wargear piece.

His unit of wyches with archon charged my tac squad with ezekiel, ezekiel gets challenged by the archon and they both whiff, I like to think they were having a slap fight

a few turns later Ezekiel had finished off the archon and the one remaining wych had fled, my opponent turned 3 reavers, a ravager, and a razorwing jetfighter's fire on him, and he made all his saves, only to be brought down from mere warriors in the next turn.

elsewhere in that game,

I had a terminator unit which wrecked the aforementioned ravager and a reaver with some cyclone missile goodness, and one of my termies wrecked a reaver, with a TH! I like to think he grabbed a splinter rifle off a dead body and polevaulted, batting the reaver away in mid-glide.

at the end of the game, the same termy who wrecked the reaver was my only model left, while his was a razorwing jetfighter, the termy said "Why not?" and threw a krak grenade at the thing, it didn't hit but I like to think the razorwing ran away from the incredibly bad-as-feth terminator. by the way, he's now the sergeant.

Sometimes I play my IG like I've read about generals in BL novels. Leman Russ in my own deployment, aiming at a unit of berzerkers. Shot scatters back, 1 inch away from the 'zerkers, but bullseye on a big blob of guardsmen. All 9 models hit are killed, they fail their morale, commissar executes one sargent, they fail again and take off... (CC manages to Get them Back In The Fight next turn, though, so not as funny as it could have been.)

You asked for it.

My first game of 6th edition, my BA against orks of a friend. I played DoA spiced up with Mephiston deploying alone (yes, a mistake in the use of reserves).
Turn #1 he just jumps around, closing on the trucks and BW approaching me.
Turn #2, he jumps closer and continues to shoot his plasma pistol at a trukk: a hit, a penetrate, and KABOOM. Then he continues to assault the poor orks, wiping the nob in a challenge, overrunning the rest of the mob.
Next turn orks charge from a trukk, rolling poorly - and the only one who could reach Mephiston got overwatched.
Turn #3 Mephiston tallied anther 12 orks, continuing his slaughter, until getting krumped by 10 meganobz and Grotsnik...
Though that doesn't compare to when my Mephiston wiped out 975 points (out of 2,000) worth of tyranid monsters and gaunts in a single tournament match (including 1st turn kill off of a hive tyrant, lol 5th ed. Mephy = ).

Playing earlier against the same guy with my BA, I tabled him, myself only losing a single blood talon from my DC Dreadnought. I pitied him.
And he's still afraid to death of my Death Company (they wiped out over a hundred boyz in that game)!

The overwatch reminds me of his earlier luck in the 5th, again versus orks.
He is about to get charged by a mob of boyz (yikes in the 5th!), but only one can reach him, and it fails its dangerous terrain test crossing a wrecked truck!
Later in the game he is about to get assaulted by killa kans, but again he is saved, thanks to a kan failing its dangerous terrain test, blocking the way of other kans.

me and my brother where playing some wierd homebrew version of the biking special mission thing in IA8, where everyone has to be on bikes. He had a whole lot on ork warbikers and i had my raven wing bikers (come to think of it i shouldn't have, but anyway...) He goes up to a little mound of terrain in order to do a jump as per the special rules of that mission. The terrain piece was literally a pile of dirt. He proceeds to fail the jump and the biker gets killed . In the madness of moving terrain one of my bikers runs into a building/volcano (I have some homebrew rules for a volcano that i like to use, but this bit of terrain counted as a building for the purposes of collision even though it fired out balls of lava every turn ). any way my biker runs into it and somehow manages to bash his way through it and take his saves successfully.

It was very funny to think that his biker couldn't drive over a mound of dirt while my ravenwing biker could smash through a volcano

I went against a necron player's 7k apoc list with my ragtag team of 3k, and won.... HOLY CRAP APOC EXPLOSIONS KILL EVERYTHING, ALL THE MONOLITHS!!!!! Twas glorious... Almost every infantry team got a confirmed monolith kill that day. Long range my Tau railgun covered butt!!!

Just finished a game where both our Warlords were turned into spawn in turn two and a 5 man Berzerker squad took 3 casualties charging through razorwire!

Punisher cannon at the back of a flyer.... fun times.... fun fun times....

I have had the experience that on a match were 1 Ravenwing lived the entire game until the last round, survives 2 Dreadnought Multi-Meltas and 2 missles. then he got swarmed by Boyz. Didn't live.

Ahriman turning 2 Wraithguard into spawn, then charging the rest of the squad and insta-gibbing the Farseer who had each of the Runes.

Jeff the Carnifex jumping on a Razorback and throwing the turret so far it lands on a Dreadnought. Which explodes next turn, wounding Calgar and killing his Apothecary.

Two tuns later, Calgar fluffed his charge on Jeff and his Displacer Field jumped him out of combat. Into the middle of a massive brood of Genestealers. Nom.

Meanwhile, an Eversor Assassin dodges a Spore Mine explosion, falling off a four floor building in the process.

On the final turn, Smurf player has another Apothecary, placed out of sight and up til now forgotten, run to the top of said building, out of every Tyranid's charge range, to beat the Tyranid Attack 'kill EVERYTHING' mission.

No ranged bugs left, apart from a Lictor's Flesh Hooks. Which drag the hapless medic off, the fall killing him. Behemoth is victorious!

Yeah, 2ed had its moments...

Ran a cultist champion w/ a shotgun in a blob of 30 khorne cultists, he proceeds to roll to hit, and to wound, picking the librarian in the unit who rolls ... and promptly turns into a daemon prince.

Trying to get siege rules together in early 3ed. Defending a ring fort with IG against Tyranids. They reach the walls, one comes down, the Demolisher opens up on a solid carpet of Gaunts and Carnifexes and Tyrant... scatters 12" right on top of my Captain and his unit. Yeah, that was a win for the bugs.

Other day had a 300 point sorcerer jump down from some ruins, dies from the impact...... needless to say I struggled that game

I once saw someone take two Big Meks, each with the Shokk Attack Gun. He ran them in a list which was nothing but ork infantry, a huge wall of green mobbed up models. Anyway, first turn he rolls snake eyes TWICE, killing both Big Meks and taking out huge swaths of boyz each time. Hi-larious.

Recently, while playing a game against Chaos, I had the entire game sewed up. As a last 'screw you' my opponent charged his Chaos bike sergeant guy into the unit of Pathfinders that had been ruining his day. One dead Shas'ui and a phenomenally lucky roll later, I suddenly have a Daemon Prince behind my lines. I lost the game, but I wasn't even mad. Shoot, I'm still in shock that it even happened!

That's about it for me.

I haven't been playing 40k long so I don't have many stories yet, but I something kind of funny did happen to me last week when I was against this veteran Tau player who didn't really know much about the new Necron codex.

He was in the middle of a jocular rant about how Necrons are OP and how Matt Ward is the devil (I had been getting lucky with my Reanimation Protocols so far and he had just found out about Living Metal and Arc) when Imotekh managed to take away all the hull points of his tank with one round of lightning. I assume that tank was pretty important given how pissed he was.

6 Tau FW killed 5 assoult Termies.
Yeah, the Luck Goddess was with me.

There was a landraider in the middle of the map tearing my chimer'as and guardsmen to pieces so I I made my sentinel armed with a lascannon to try and shake, or stun the crew......it destroyed the landraider and some terminators in it

I can just imagine the faceof the Space marine commander "WTF the finest tank in the Imperium blown up by a lascannon on legs"
