back in 5th when there were fearless wounds I charged an archon and 5 incubi(separate units) into Logan and 4 terminators(same unit). Logan had taken a wound before so he had 2 left
My archon got into combat with Logan while the incubi got the termites.

My archon wiffed completely and then the incubi struck simo with logan. Logan's strikes were saved by the shadowfield and 5 incubi only managed to kill 2 termiators. The 2 terminators then managed to do 3 wounds to the incubi, shreding them nicely. Archon passed his break test incubi do not. Incubi run.
I thought I was doomed and so did my opponent. The next turn he did not engage with anything else going instead after other targets(like running down the incubi).

When combat came around the archon put down 3 wounds on logan killing him. The terminators then strike at the archon but again is saved by his shadowfield. Termiators fail their break test, get caught and take 2 fearless wounds because they lost by 2. Termite armor to the rescue? Nope double ones! Archon is then alive and unengaged at the start of my turn with a bunch of pain tokens

My amazing Dreadnought of doom he carries a twin-linked lascannon but he has claimed 6 flyer kills in 6th to the point that our local blood angels player places his storm raven trying to keep out of his line of sight.

I got a couple of things, (all in 5th).

First, back in the old days of crons, i had one destroyer left in a three way game (ignoring phase out). One guy is holding an uncontested ubjective, while contesting the other guys objective. The last objective is out of reach from anyone. The other two, not seeing me as a threat, ignored me, the guy with the objective absolutely confident in his victory. One last turn, turbo-boost onto edge of objective and a great troll face later, bam, 3 way draw. The looks on their faces were great.

Secondly when i got my new crons, i had an apocalypse game of 'try everything' at 4000 gainst eldar and dark eldar (same guys). Many things happened in that game, warriors repelling whyches and harlequins combined charge, 3 scarabs defeating incubi in combat, but some things stand out. For example, by chronometron cryptek, with imotekh, attacks the shadowfield archon that had charged wiht a beefy unit of wyches. A lucky hit, wound, and unlucky one later, and all of a sudden, ws1 bs1 I1 etc 4+ save model. Hilarious, and will probably never happen again :*(.
Lastly, one of my greatest moments (same game). My C'tan charges a wraithlord, the only thing threating combat wise in the area, (dire avengers sitting on an objective and a raider with warriors around). Unfortunately, mr C'tan was wounded, and was bought down by the wraithlord, but not after he had been reduced to 1 wound. My C'tan blows up in his face, killing him. But it gets worse. He also kills a couple of dire avengers, but more importantly, manages to actually blow up the nearby raider. This kills some more dire avengers and some warriors. Both squads break and run...off the board. Not only that, but the other side lose the objective they really needed. Really, really funny.

And from that day, the C'tan was known as Boris

My SM scout sniper squad has killed more vehicles than infantry, claiming several land speeders, rhinos, piranhas, and in my last game, a razorwing jetfighter.

Watching my GK pallys getting getting sweet revenge against my mates Ork nobs after they had slaughtered my purifiers

5th edition.

my friend shoots at my trukk with and gets 3 hits. gets 3 pens. rolls 3 ones on the damage chart. my truck still explodes because they were AP-1 shots. he was about to rage quit when i told him the thing still went boom. (specifically weapon destroyed, weapon destroyed again, no weapons moves to immobile, third weapon destroyed moves to immobile, moves to wreck) and then my ramshackle roll is Kaboom.

Saw a Chaos Sorcerer 3rd ed turn Marneus Calgar into a rock (spawn but you didn't get the model back then)...so much for being an all-powerful bad-a!

5th edition. 3-way duel on a hill between Azkellon the Sangunior, Lucius the Eternal, and Bob the Generic Oldcron Lord. Sanguinor and Lucius go at the same time, Lucius takes 2 wounds off the lord, Sanguinor blasts Lucius to hell. Lord swings and wiffs, sanguinor isleft untouched. Sanguinor expects to headbutt the lord to death, but fails so miserably that I feel the need to apologize for his derp, 5 1's. Lord attacks with his Warscythe and kills the sanguinor. Model hasn't been used since

3 things

Early 5th edition, running 3 killkannons. I fire all three an terminators about to be charged by 30 boys. Scatters. All 3 templates land on the boys. After about a million 1s rolled, all that's left is a confused shoota boy.

Middle 5th edition. Have 4 Gretchen after bolter fire eats 25 and the slaver. Charge chapter master and 5 man honor guard squad. Stopped them from Destroying my nobz.

6th edition, be playing SPES MEHREENS. Rhinos and a land raider. Opponent has 3 BW and a ton of trukks. Rhinos get rammed. 3 trukks hit front and sides of LR. BW goes full speed down a road and hits the back of the land raider. All 5 vehicles explode.

6'th edition.

A squad of Hormagaunts are charging at squad of Fire Warriors with Eldrad. After the Assault Phase none Fire Warrior was killed and all Hormagaunts were destroyed.

10 man Vet Guard Squad with plasma jump outa a Vendetta, Start opening up on a Swarm lord with all his puppies. Roled 4 wounds on the plasma and killed 2 puppies. then open up with the Laz guns just hinking nothing would happen roled 12 hits and 10 6's to wound. killed the swarm lord and his last puppie with flash lights. he quit after that

SM vs CSM. Someone got a shot in on the Land Raider (using a Flashbang to simulate). Land Raider exploded. So the guy reached in the pulled out the pin to the flashbang..

Playing an apocolypse game, Tyranid vs Imperial guard. My swarm of gargoyles and flyrant are slaughtered by a baneblade, leaves one gargoyle alive. My friend had about ten or eleven tanks in range, four quad guns, five snipers and two basilisks.
They all whiffed and missed completely. He tried everything to hit this one surviving gargoyle and could not for the life of him hit the damn thing. Most of his shooting he wastes on one 6 pt creature and it survives. It doesn't do anything the rest of the game but still, for all his firepower, he just could not seem to hit the bastard.

A number of years ago, when the Tyranids were still relatively new, I was playing Space Marine and my friend was playing Tyranids. He charges my unit of five Terminators with his Genestealers. I kill one Genestealer... none of my Terminators survive. Let's just say that was enough to convince me not to use Terminators for awhile...

Teaching some local friends to play... have a number of humorous stories from 5th ed:
1) My friend fields a SR for the first time. Loads it up with Tac Marines. He's so excited to use it that he charges it straight at my Ork mob One lucky Kannon shot later his SR is a smoking crater in the ground and my mob assaults his Marines and slaughters them. He's out 400 points in just one turn - the expression on his face was priceless

2) Similar situation... friend buys a Librarian, is excited about using it for the first time. We end up teaching another friend how to play. She plays a SM army, and moves up a TL Lascannon-equipped Dreadnought to shoot his LR. He's using a GK LR full of Termies, with a Librarian tailing it (rookie mistake). He charges the LR up the throat of my Ork mob, thinking that she'll try to shoot the LR as the Dreadnought is the only thing she has that can penetrate it. He moves the Librarian close enough behind the LR that he thinks no one will be able to shoot it. He laughs about getting to use the Librarian to devastating effect against my Orks next turn. Her turn, the Dreadnought shifts it's position so it can see the Librarian and fires the TL Lascannon at the Librarian. She misses and he laughs, promising her all kinds of vengeance for trying to shoot his HQ. I remind her that TL weapons allow a re-roll, so she rolls again, hits and passes the s/t roll. Boasting about the invulnerable save, he rolls and promptly comes up with a . One Librarian now insta-gibbed! We still laugh about the crestfallen look on his face when he said "I didn't even get to use him..."

3) "The Great Genestealer Shoot-Out of 2012." Four of us are playing: me with Orks (again), a friend with SMs, another friend with Tyranids, and the last with the GKs. The Tyranid player sends his HT and Warriors towards me, while his GS lurk their way towards the SMs. I manage to bog down the HT with Ork mobs while my Deffkoptas eventually ace his Warriors. My friend's fiancee pages him and says she's on his way over. He tells us, "ok, one more turn and then I need to go." He charges his Genestealers in one long line towards the SM's position, intending to overwhelm them the following turn. During the GK player's turn, he simply smiles and says "why wait that long?" Opens fire with GK Termies equipped with Storm Bolters and two Psycannons, taking out the entire line of 10+ Genestealers and Brood Lord with one volley.

6th ed:
The GK player regularly fields a Paladin unit that has given us fits. We've all done our best to take out the Pallys, but usually end up only denting their armor. We've essentially just learned to play "keep away from the Pallys" and just go for the objectives.

So one day, we decide to test out a combination of 6th ed and Armageddon rules in order to allow a friend to try out a new Stormblade he built. We end up setting up the table so all players are 36 inches away from each other. I'm on one side, fielding a SM army and he fields an IG army. On his other side is the GK-loving player. The GK player decides to field a Draigowing. Sensing what was coming, I spread my army out through my deployment zone. The GK player laughs at me and says "what for?", clustering his Draigowing together

The IG player goes first, and turns his Stormblade turret towards the Draigowing, firing a blastgun volley. He places the blast marker directly on Draigo and nails the scatter roll. Half the Pallys were insta-gibbed. Round two, the Stormblade finishes the job of wiping out the Pallys. We all look at each other shocked, and then the IG player and I burst out laughing while the GK player gives off a very loud

On my space wolf tech marine i keg punched an ork and he exploded and crashed into all the orks on the way down the bastion.

I destroyed a chaos tank with one fleeing nob. when they tank shocked him.

I killed fate-weaver in the 2nd turn man was i happy its slightly more funny considering how much my brother told me i was screwed fighting him with tau.

Triple stacking wrecked Leman Russes > Then shooting at the entire map because I had an EXCELLENT vantage point

3 moments spring to my mind.

My Daemons Vs. IG.

Game is going pretty well for me my army was all over him than a pivotal moment came. A single fleeing guardsman turned around and took a pot shot at Fateweaver. Hit, wound, failed first save, failed second save and finally failed my LD test. Hadn't taken a single wound yet but ran off the board when he got hurt by a single guardsman. I couldn't help but laugh as the rest of my army started to crumble.

Ork Vs. Eldar

I'm getting absolutely stomped, towards the end of the game all I had left was a SAG and a few lootas with not even a single destroyed unit in my opponents army and he is closing in on me. I make on last stand and take shots at his Avatar, lootas whiff their shots but the SAG rolled , than got a bullseye on the scatter. I may have gotten tabled that day but in my mind the victory was still mine.

Sisters Vs. Tau

I went up against what I believe is called the Farsight Bomb. They did exactly what you would expect them to, jumped in and utterly devestated my own deathstar of Jacobus and the Battle conclave. Luckily my sole surviving Crusader managed to survive long enough to allow Saint Celestine to get back up and charge right in. She managed to win combat for me by dealing a single wound. The Tau then failed their LD test and their initiative test. Celestine ran down and killed what was probably a third to half of their army.

This was from around the time the 3.5 ed chaos codex (I think) dropped. Our resident chaos player, with his brand new daemon prince, let us convince him that daemon princes couldn't take daemonic gifts (like immunity to ID). Anyway, the T5 prince jumps out of the warp and immediately takes a railgun slug to the face.
Another good one had our daemonhunter player vaporising the last models on the board (his own models) with his orbital bombardment after a marathon game.

A few weekends ago my roommate and I played a 1500 point game. My Orks vs his Daemons.

One of my Kans blasts his grotzooka at a group of daemons.... only to have the zooka backfire and blast backwards into the rear armour of another Kan.

Vehicle Explodes.

Having a furioso dread with blood talons being charged by a large mob of orks with warlord with power klaw and nob with power klaw, fluffed all my attacks, was hoping to chew through a few boys. His warlord attacks, hits and pens with 2 attacks, he says he hopes for 6's, rolls two 6's on the vehicle damage table, I then say roll d6 for explosion range,he says he forgets about that, rolls a 5. I roll impressively for wounding and at the end the 30 boy squad is down 12 boys, that was fun

I was learning how to play, and my FLGS had a Demo Game for me using the Black Reach set. I played Orks, the staff member played Spess Mahreens (by my call, I wanted to try Orks). To make a long story short...overwatch (this was in 6th but we used the 5th starter set as they hadn't made the DV set up yet)...

I charged his Tac Squad with the captain in it, and a flamer. Full squad of Ork Boyz. Bolter overwatch. I believe 10 rolls to hit...10 6's...followed by 10 6's.....okay so Boyz gone, I charge the same squad with my Nobz and Warboss. The Space Marines in assault bring every single model down to 1 wound and even kill 2 nobs. I miss. Every hit. They fail leadership, and flee just to be cut down by the same squad in the later turn...

#1 5 Warriors holding up a a full powered Archon for 3 turns before killing him
#2 Vargard Obyron walks across the board, eventually gets shot down by 2 turns worth of Tau fire, gets back up, destroys a Devilfish, 3 Crisis Battlesuits, then, as he stands in the open, my opponent realises he had spent all his shooting on Vargard and allowed my whole army to advance unscathed..... hehehee

A lone Conscript killed 4 chaos marines, then assaulted a squad of chaos terminators and killed 2! Never underestimate Catachan conscripts.

Thunderwolf tripped over a fence, fell on his face and died.

My Space Wolves vs. my buddy's Blood Angels. He had a tac squad behind an Aegis Defense Line. I had a lone Thunderwolf Cavalry with one wound left. He tried to charge the squad, rolled a 1 for difficult terrain, then failed his 3++ armour save.

Another one from a tournament actually. I had my Deathwing he had horde guard.

I land my terminators right in front of his manticore no scatter he turns to shoot me but uses his demolisher cannon. Scatter onto his manticore killing it. with that gone the rest of my boys smash through his flank.

Back in fifth ed i charged a bloodthirster into a commissar lord with a fist, i fluff he does three wounds and i fail two armour saves for fearless still won the game though!

All back in 5th:

Lictor charged 6 of my FWs at the top of a ruin, killed 1, took a wound return, killed another, and got beaten down. I imagine one of the FWs jamming his Pulse Rifle in its feeder tendrils, jumping and kicking it off the edge martial arts-style.

6 Harlies charge 10 FWs, the Harlies kill 1 on the charge, the remaining FWs enrage and beat all 6 of the clowns down in return.

Crisis Suit watched his buddy Multi-melta'd by the old Throne of Judgement, charged it, and held it up in combat for the rest of the game, even manging to cause a wound by punching Karazamov in the face.

A large blob of Guardsmen deep-strikes behind my lines, and rapid fires a crisis suit down, my hammerhead turns its railgun and nukes almost all of them with a submunition shot.

My Daemon Prince turns a kitted-up Tau Commander into a Chaos Spawn, which charges the Hammerhead behind it and blows it up, and leaves him with just 2 FW squads left at the top of turn 2.

My Daemon Prince turns an old DE Archon with Shadowfield into a spawn, after the DE player remarked on how he was next to unkillable due to the Shadowfield.

My Wave Serpent rams a Dreadnought and immobilises it, but blows up in return. I imagine the Wave Serpent removing the lower half of its body and having the sarcophagus fall onto the cockpit.

2 Terminators + Abby charge a Razorback containing a Chapter Master and his honour guard. It explodes, and kills both terminators.

Aforementioned CM + HG charge Khârn + Berzerkers and Abby (we had no idea how multiple charges worked, this was an early game of WH for me). The honour guard gets slaughtered, and the CM goes down to a wound. Khârn and his Berzerkers (seperate from Abby) elect to Sweep, catch the CM, and he promptly fails his Fearless save as I assume he simply has a heart attack.


There are probably a few more, but I can't remember them at the moment.

Or there was the time I was messing with a 5e Inquisition fandex to see what would happen, a Necron Warrior squad wrecked a Land Raider, a Monolith particle-whipped the squad that had to escape from it killing an entire Deathwatch command squad, captain, and an Inquisitor except for one random Deathwatch dude with a power weapon, who then proceeded to survive a squad of Destroyers shooting at him, charged them, and killed them all.

One of the funniest things I remember was back in 5th Edition. My friend was playing his Chaos Marines and decided to try using his Chaos Dreadnought....Well, on turn one his Dread flipped out, and destroyed his Land Raider filled with Khorne Berzerkers.

...Lets just say he never used a Chaos Dread again
