I guess so! It's good to be wrong sometimes.

I mean, it was basically like half a year of uncertainty, wasn't it? I remember people at the end of End Times going on about how lizardmen were totally going to be gone forever.

Yeah, remember that story about the kid who dumped all his Lizardmen in his local GW and stormed off? If it was true, I wonder what he thinks now...
The pictures coming out look really interesting. I like the Lizardmen's new "star" theme. The art looks good, and I haven't been a fan of AoS's art for the most part so far.

My old Lizardman army had Star Metal weapons because I'm lazy and just painted everything silver. Quite happy about that now!
I'm sad that they aren't getting new sculpts. The Saurus and TG are awful. The same leg stance looks ridiculous.
Hoping to get an AoS game in with them soon though, and if I like it I may look at rebasing and painting them.
Guild ball is my current passion, but variety is the spice of life!

Alright, I sold all my 40k. I'm bored and done with it. Ready to get into Age of Sigmar asap. I'm so hype about this new setting for the Fantasy range, it makes so munch sense to play this way for me.
I'm first a painter and a collector of miniatures. I do like to play, but winning is not my goal. What I really like is looking at great miniatures on a board full of sceneries, that's what gives me the wow effect. The thin rules makes me feel I will be able to get in this game fast, without thinking about upgrades, combos, not using very nice miniatures because they don't have good rules. It's like freestyle gaming and it's actually innovative. I can see why it creates big ripples in the community.
Now, where to start!!?? I'm thinking Sylvaneth with Dwarfs!

Not exactly an optimist about the system (coughcoughragequitcough), butbto remain positive I will say this: for all my dislike for the sigmarines I will accept that the khorne models are amazing. I already have the starter boxs khorne sections being built up in my downtime and intend to grab most of the new models. I do play the game rarely with a friend, though it's likely going to be converted for daemonkin for 40k and paint them reddish-orange.
As a side note I am verrrrry interested to see what they do with dark elves and night goblins, as new models for either would be much appreciated

Any recommendation for sites, blogs and battle reports you've particularly enjoyed?

I don't know if this is tacky to self-plug here, but I've started an AoS podcast with a couple other guys here with the express mission statement to be positive about the hobby. We call it The Mortal Realms and we're up to the 3rd episode (just released last night).

Not at all. Thanks. Subscribed and listened to the first episode. Really well done. I like the format with the different phases. There were a couple audio issues but hopefully that was just an initial episode hiccup. Really looking forward to getting caught up.
Subscribed but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for the kind words. I'd like to think we've improved since the first episode- some better equipment and technique, though we do continue to learn. We're always open to feedback, so happy to hear anything you'd think need improvement.

I just bought AoS from a buddy for a good deal. What made it even sweeter was he had built all the models, one of my least favorite parts of mini wargaming.
I'm super impressed with the models. I also like the scenario approach (I'll be providing both forces for any games we play at the FLGS).
Scenarios with pre-set forces reminds me of previous GW games like LOTR SBG and even Epic 40k's historical refights with orders of battle provided.
Helps remove some of the better-list-builder usually wins aspect IMO.
I've been watching videos by some guys called Realms of Conflict. They do nice play throughs with the starter box with fully painted stuff and nice terrain.
They cover the rules as they are playing so if you need additional walk through on that, you're set.
Really nicely done.

I'll be sure to check them out. Thanks. The new minis are really great, I've been enjoying coming up with custom scenarios myself of late. It's been a lot of fun getting my wife and a few non-wargamer friends into it.
@Red_Zeke I had been finding it a bit hard to hear the colonial members of the cast but the last episode was perfect.

I just got the AoS starter box. I also have a Celestant-Prime model. I'm kind lost without points and codices, and I want to have a balanced pair of armies I can pull out if anyone wants to play. Does anyone have any advice on a unit I could add to the Khorne force that would be a good balance against the Celestant-Prime (and staying fluffy)?

I would say a Bloodthirster, if going for another centrepiece. You can loosely balance things along the lines of troop unit-troop unit, elite-elite, big monster-big monster, here-hero etc while thinking about the finer comparisons stats-wise.
Perhaps a unit of Mighty Skullcrushers would be equal. Different roles on the battlefield for sure. The Prime is like a nuke button late in the game, while the Bloodthirster or Skullcrushers would be getting their damage in fairly early.

Cool. Bloodthirster might be a good purchase for me, because I also play Word Bearers, and I could get some multi-use out of it. I have a couple Tzeenthc daemons I suppose I could use (LoC and DP), but that seems aesthetically jarring to use for a Khorne army. Also not sure how I'd get the rules for these dudes, I got them well before warscrolls were a thing.

All warscrolls for every unit are on the GW site. You can find the model on the store and to the right is a spot to click for the PDF.

There's also Skarbrand as an option for the Prime.

So it seems slaanesh has got an e short in age of sigmar. Going to give it a read I will update on my thoughts on it.
So can we put the argument to rest that GW shot slaanesh? With this advent release? Plus the slaanesh bundle? I told everyone that it was going to be a story line.

I don't think that was ever a legitimate complaint. It was pretty clearly laid out right from the start that there was an elf/Slaanesh storyline down the road.

Trust me there are still people who think that slaanesh is essentially dead/squatted in the setting I have talked to such people in real life as well. Used such arguments that you mentioned here and they still closed their ears.
edit: Soooo currently reading the e-short and just to let everyone know slaanesh is still quite eeeer "adult" so to speak. Whats great is that the Lord has three daemonette concubines he calls the daemonettes the "Travesitie Maidens" and his warband IS currently searching for slaanesh through sensations and physically looking for him/her. Will update later oh and its quite interesting that the lord is actually blind and perceives things through his horns mutations on his head.
edit 2: Man I just finished reading it and I don't know how to feel it sucks for the lord and in the end even though they were terrible people praying begging for slaanesh help and getting no answer while stormcasts were smashing them asunder. While the mortals are praying to a god that will literally throw down his warriors to avenge them. While with slaanesh all they have is silence. I do hope the Aelf Arc comes around soon slaanesh needs to be freed. I do think that freeing slaanesh will tip things back into chaos favor since currently in the fluff they are getting wrecked hard. Honestly the short story made me more attached to my slaanesh force ONE DAY slaanesh will be freed and sigmar, the stormcasts and mortals will get a reckoning. Its the opposite with the undead and chaos going by the audiobooks man I sure know how to pick my favorite armies.

Me and some buddies are going to start up a campaign sometime early next year. I'm just hoping they release the Duardin book before we start, love my stunties. AoS is the game that has me wanting to play casual narrative style games again.
It's like I've rediscovered GW for the first time as a kid again and I'm dreaming up map based campaigns lol.
