That being said if GW UK is in bed with a particular means of delivery (eBay in the US has contracts with the USPS for example) then it could be that part of finished invoice per a particular customer includes an automated sending of a tracking number whether or not the package has already been shipped. I know it's that way for some places here in the US. But when you tracked the package at the delivery service did it say it has been picked up from GW ? What state of ship was it in and did it suddenly get rolled back a day or two later. Scan progress at the delivery service's website doesn't have anything to do with GW.

GW use UPS over here for their courier shipping, only their free home delivery option uses Royal Mail I believe. And the issue is that they haven't sent a tracking number(they never do, I've had to call them to get it for every order I've ever made), just a shipping confirmation, and are now trying to weasel about and say that actually, the shipping confirmation is just a "we packed your stuff into a box and will post it when we can be arsed" confirmation, and they won't be sending anything out until some stage today, meaning nothing will be arriving until next week at the earliest.

I wont get mine till monday probably, royal mail 1st class but it seems they are going to ship mine on release day and well sunday is a no go so my only hope is that royal mail realise my package is the starter set and put everyone in their reach on the job of delivering my package on the day. Bend the regulations, breach some rights of employment, you know, it would be right thing to do.

Yeah the automated shipping emails that vendors send to me using UPS/USPS do that too here in the states. In some cases I'll even receive a tracking number and when I scan it, it will say "Invoice created" but not any further, which was what I thought you had going on over there.

So that means UPS will collect the parcel today, and leave it sitting in the local depot down there all weekend, it'll go to the main depot on monday, my local depot on tuesday, and if I'm lucky it'll arrive next wednesday.

What's the point of preordering direct from GW and paying for express shipping if I don't get the bloody thing until five days, three working, after the release date? Hell, I can preorder a PC game from Amazon and pay no shipping at all, and they still get it to me on the day of release.

Bah.

Write to a consumer watchdog (such as Watchdog). GW sent you a shipping confirmation which listed the date your product had been shipped as 2 days ago (if it's the same date as mine was apparently "shipped"). If they still haven't shipped the product then they should not have sent you a shipping confirmation as that is misleading the customer.

What good would that do. So if you do a search you find out GW lies regarding when it ships product. Technically though they don't. The fine print basically gives them an extra two weeks on any of the shipping information they release. So if you are not willing to wait for up to two weeks from release date your out of luck.

My email from GW says that my product was shipped on the 29th of August, 2012 at 8:42.

Where is the fine print which says that my product was not actually shipped at that time? Even if there were it is still incredibly misleading, if not flat out lying, to tell the customer that their bought and paid for goods have been shipped when they have not.

If they are lying to you about shipping your order then they may be guilty of a breach of contract, in which case it is well within your rights to report them to Trading Standards for investigation.

Got mine already! Great stuff, the chaplain is on a single sprue like the Warhammer characters, and the mould lines are barely noticeable. The box is the same size as AOBR, I think, but once opened it felt a bit too big for the contents.

A little peeved that one of the Ravenwing bikes' shield was broken, one of the wings was sitting on the bottom of the box.

Yeah, it's repairable. I don't know if I should tell GW or not; I don't like receiving expensive and fragile package with broken bits, especially since the box has no damage. They should improve the packaging in that aspect, since I already had an issue with a Dark Eldar megaforce.

Now, people, focus! Should I take pics of the sprues intact (bar the wing and a just discovered so-bent-that-nearly-broke hellbrute cannon) for the greater good? I don't know if someone already did, in which case I'll just get the clippers...

Just got my box, noticed something that is infuriating. there are no slot placement rules or point costs. so all of this is completely useless in normal games atm.

The Da stuff can be used as there is nothing new aside from the special ed char, who also has no point value or slot.

Was all excited to get the hellbrute and the cultists, and they do nothing for current chaos, unless i'm missing something.

They wouldn't want to give you any reason to not buy the new codex when it comes out would they?

By the time you have got everything all painted up and ready, the new codex will hopefully be just around the corner.

"Dark Vengeance will be on sale in hobby centres tomorrow, including some limited edition copies."

This to me suggests that I will be able to buy the standard version tomorrow. Is this right or am I imagining it? What price am I looking at in GBP? Same as AOBR?

The only way you can get an advance order on day of release is to have it sent to a GW store. If you have it sent home then you don't get it until the week after. It's been this way for nearly a year now...

That does not change the fact that to send a customer confirmation of shipping when you haven't shipped their product is misleading. If they are deliberately misleading the customer about their service then they may be breaking the law.

There's your problem right there, it's not September 28 yet. You're actually getting yours laters this month. Learn to read j/k.

Nah but seriously did the email/text/whatever you received state in the body of the letter the time and date that it was supposedly shipped or are you reading the datestemp of the email itself?

And as far as your breach of contract statement, I doubt it would hold up because when you ordered from GW I doubt in their terms/agreements they included anywhere that they'd be shipping out on August 28. If they did, then and only then would it be a breach on those grounds.

They probably scanned everything they completely packaged that was ready for ship and automated messages went out on all those scans on emails similar to yours. Post guys picks them up a day later. Bing Bang Boom you don't get your stuff Friday/Saturday. If the email you're referring to didn't have the UPS Tracking number then I'd say that was the case. If it did, you should have been able to track it and see the shennanagans first hand. UPS is cool like that.

Eurgh. Fixed the date in my post.

The shipping time and date are in the email.

I went with the free shipping so I wasn't expecting it for release day. I'm not too fussed with whether it gets here tomorrow or sometime next week but I can understand that someone who added on another £4 to get it shipped express would be pissed to be told that it had shipped only to find out that it in fact hadn't and would most likely not arrive on day of release.

When websites like Amazon can get something to you on release day with free shipping when they are not the company actually making the product it is a bit ridiculous that GW cannot even guarantee to get a product to you on release day if you pay for next day delivery.

I will be interested to see when you actually get this. PM on that will ya.

In the states, Amazon, and distributors, and even our FLGS's all have their copies of DV. I mentioned a couple posts ago that my FLGS has 18 copies of DV in 3 cardboard boxes sitting in the middle of the store. I circled one like a shark last night.

I feel for ya man. I was expecting something last Monday and got it two days late...I was all antsy. It was a Hot Toys Nick Fury from the Avengers movie. I was cursing UPS because they were taking their sweet time going from Seattle to Los Angeles. And come to find out it left the store a day late too. I could track it, but not much else.

I'd wager thatyou'll get yours on Monday, as it's not a holiday in the UK (It's Labor Day Monday in the US) because UK's not a really big distance to cross when you're thinking postage.

The models are gorgeous. The terminators are, I think, maybe even higher quality than my Space Hulk terminators. More finely-detailed, with less problem of undercutting.

The chosen and culsists are amazing. The level of fine detail is stunning. Be careful not to bend and damage the lightning claws! There are a number of dangly bits and gew-gaws, like the little details hanging from the SH termies and in the Death Company boxed set. I think this set is even more finely-detailed than the Death Company, which were my previous gold standard.

The rules for the models in the box are purely designed for use in the starter/learning scenarios. They are not supplemental to the real codices. No point values, no force org slots, and very stripped down rules with almost no special rules for units. There is presently no way to use the cultist models in 40k, except maybe the CCW-armed guys as counts-as Lesser Daemons. Everything else in the box can be used as existing codex units.
