I'm willing to put 100 interweb dollars that the Chaos Codex release will come with a plastic dreadnought kit (wave 1), or at least, a kit release in Wave 2.

Perhaps with the new csm codex hellbrutes will replace the psychotic chaos dreads. It may be a nice change.

I actually really wouldn't mind if Hellbrutes thematically replaced Dreadnoughts while functionally fitting the same niche, other than I have two Chaos dreadnoughts sitting in my old fores that I would like to keep playing.

Sounds like I should convert my regular non-GK marines to Chaos, then use this set to round them out would love to have another army of Chaos + Daemons.

Hellbrute sounds like a Dreadknight, maybe smaller, tougher w/o a jumppack?

I wonder with the “Dynamic Poses” they will be made of the same plastic as the Space Hulk mini’s, I could live with that.

The snap fit on the space hulk minis wasn't the greatest (sometimes the only snap you got was when the peg would break!) but the poses were definitely dynamic. The starter set minis have been steadily getting better since second editions monopose (with 3rd edition being a bit atypical in that it used the new for that time standard tactical kit). AOBR definitely impressed me when it came out and hopefully this upcoming box will do the same.

If the starter box does include one model in finecast I guess I will be forced to buy it and then destroy the model. I think I will burn it in a small sacrificial bowl. Perhaps this will gain favor for the rest of the worthy models!!!

Bravo, sir. I admire your style. Make sure your sacrificial container is a skull of some sort for maximum favor.

The Hellbrute is a renamed Chaos Dread from earlier rumors.

The only new thing I'm seeing is the chaplain rumor, everything else (down to the equipment of the squads) has been previously noted.

I really wanted to see a chaos dreadnought however, perhaps this 'Hellbrute' will be just as cool! Really excited to see Chaos Cultists and Ravenwing along with the variety of choices for DA Hq. I cannot wait to see the final product!

I'm imagining the Hellbrute would be something like half way between the size of an obliterator and a demon prince with a similar function in the list to Space Wolf Lone Wolves. Possibly as an elites slot?

Well, chaplain models have historically been the best models in 40k. So barring some strange instance of this rumored chaplain sculpt being terrible, I am going to have to buy this set. My willpower will not resist the temptation of a limited edition chaplain, not to mention a possible brand new Libby sculpt as well.

The Chaos force sounds like it might be rather awesome... Can't wait to reinforce my existing CSM army... Like many I'm very interested in what the Helbrute thing will look/play like, and I'm positively drooling at the thought of cultists!

This isn't making me happy though...

The box will contain a Dark Angels Company Master (Balthasar)… resplendent with his erect Power Sword!

I just finished painting up an old metal DA Company Master yesterday (pix in my gallery). I bought it years ago, and thought it might rake in a few shekels on fleabay now that DA are getting some love, but if there's one in the box, will anyone want the old model? Damn you GW, you're fettling my entrepreneurial efforts!

That's true too, actually! I just hope that title is wrong because it's the most generic and lame title they could come up with. The other starters have been named after battles and I'm hoping for the same here. Dark Vengeance just sounds so... bleh. Like "Deadly Death" or something too horrible for 40k, which is already a ludicrously silly place with plenty of dumb naming conventions.

This comes as a surprise after the last few named starter sets?

Aren't these going up for pre release in like two weeks for sale at the end of the month? 100 interweb dollarz says we'll have pics in the next seven days.

It'll be nice to see their new crack at cultists and the hellbrute, but I'm really really anxious to see the DA heroes.

just in case no one had brought it up yet: Pg 176 of the 6th BRB:
"Dark Vengeance. The Dark Angels 5th Company battles elements of the Crimson Slaughter for control of the Hellfire Stone. The Nephilim sector trembles as the hated foes clash."

Hellfire Stone? Crimson Slaughter? Sounds like a pulp fantasy novel. Can't they be more creative?

Hi, Cuddysquig! Welcome to the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Obviously, you are new here since you seem so surprised. Feel free to ask if you have any questions and we'd be more than happy to help you out. Enjoy your stay in the Grimdark(tm) 41st millennium.

Or, you know, what I initially said.

This confirms nothing except they took old info and called it new without giving proper credit to anyone who broke it.

I fail to see what your statement even really says, seems circular by default.

I think previous CSM rumours strongly suggest that:
1.) there is a limited run of 5000 boxes that include the limited edition Interrogator Chaplain.
2.) the hellbrute is the new name/concept of the Chaos Dreadnought, just like Pariahs became Lychguard.
