Eurgh. Fixed the date in my post.

The shipping time and date are in the email.

I went with the free shipping so I wasn't expecting it for release day. I'm not too fussed with whether it gets here tomorrow or sometime next week but I can understand that someone who added on another £4 to get it shipped express would be pissed to be told that it had shipped only to find out that it in fact hadn't and would most likely not arrive on day of release.

When websites like Amazon can get something to you on release day with free shipping when they are not the company actually making the product it is a bit ridiculous that GW cannot even guarantee to get a product to you on release day if you pay for next day delivery.

But GW purposefully don't guarantee that you get it on day of release unless it's shipped to a GW store. They're not even trying to get it to you on day of release if it's being sent home . Next day delivery means you get it the day after it's gone in the post.
The dispatched email just means it's gone through the system and is ready to be mailed.

Got mine too but as its a chinese box set the rules and pretty much any wording is useless... I justed wanted to make sure i got a limited edition ( the guy tried to get an english version for me but alas ).

Anyway i have been assembling the Chosen... Really detailed models. Very nice. Also the termies are nice and detailed... Which is kinda a pain cuz i wanted to make them moar chaos! Fave model.... Not sure yet but i think this is a win for GW. They get a lot of stick on here so i just want to say. Nice one GW

My email from GW says that my product was shipped on the 28th of September, 2012 at 8:42.

Where is the fine print which says that my product was not actually shipped at that time? Even if there were it is still incredibly misleading, if not flat out lying, to tell the customer that their bought and paid for goods have been shipped when they have not.

If they are lying to you about shipping your order then they may be guilty of a breach of contract, in which case it is well within your rights to report them to Trading Standards for investigation.
There's your problem right there, it's not September 28 yet. You're actually getting yours laters this month. Learn to read j/k.

Nah but seriously did the email/text/whatever you received state in the body of the letter the time and date that it was supposedly shipped or are you reading the datestemp of the email itself?

And as far as your breach of contract statement, I doubt it would hold up because when you ordered from GW I doubt in their terms/agreements they included anywhere that they'd be shipping out on August 28. If they did, then and only then would it be a breach on those grounds.

They probably scanned everything they completely packaged that was ready for ship and automated messages went out on all those scans on emails similar to yours. Post guys picks them up a day later. Bing Bang Boom you don't get your stuff Friday/Saturday. If the email you're referring to didn't have the UPS Tracking number then I'd say that was the case. If it did, you should have been able to track it and see the shennanagans first hand. UPS is cool like that.

Emphasis added. It's pretty explicit, and it's the same email they've sent me every time I order something from them; in every other case, I've called the following morning and been given the UPS tracking number their automailer failed to send me, and have immediately been able to plug it into the UPS website.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

So I have properly unboxed mine now and am attempting to get it all desprued ready for undercoating (thanks to the Mrs and kids being out of the house! ).

Don't know if this has been said but the LE Librarian isn't snap fit, more akin to the plastic WHFB characters.

I would be very surprised if it was realeased as a single mini in a blister, but this seems to use the same tech that makes those kits viable financially.

The Libby's staff has some fiddley bits and whoever decided to put a tiny vent into the spike at the top should be shot. Much care should be taken here. Nice kit though.

I got my 3 LE sets this morning at 9, was waiting outside the FLGS when it opened

The models are absolutely stunning, certainly on par with Space Hulk.

The Terminators look much better in person than on the pics. The air vents are perfectly straight as they should be, so I don't know what was up with that pic earlier. The poses are good and, perhaps most importantly for those of us with multiple sets, a few of them are fairly compatible with the standard Termie kit - more so than the much simpler AoBR Termies, oddly enough. I'd say the sculptors intentionally went out of their way to give us a chance to vary our models a little.

The Helbrute could be a few % larger I think, as is it's a little bit taller than a Dreadnought but looks like it has a little less mass, probably because it's missing a Dreadnought's bulky shoulders.

The Chosen are, of course, amazing, and have absolutely the most intricately cut parts I've ever seen. There's one bit, for example, that is a Chosen's pistol hand, a strip of shoulder pad banding and the top half of the model's helmet. I imagine loads of people with clip this into two by mistake.

Okay, enough rambling, I have 2 and a half sets' worth of sprue to clip...

After 15minutes cleaning up and dry fitting the hellbrute I noticed that I seemed to missing a peice to the front so finally consulted the instructions/booklets.

Peice easily found I realised that all the talk had been of models and less to the paperwork. The mini rulebook was one of the reasons I purchased this and it's up to the same standards of the previous edition (note to self - learn the rules!).

I have two quick reference sheets, nice and clear and in B&W; a colour card sheet for the libb....er I mean chaplain; the best set of instructions I have seen from GW in years and finally the DV booklet.

I have to say this last bit is really nice, the quality is good too. It is Card bound and includes good quality colour pictures/printing, though the paper feels a little flimsy.

This is also the How To part of the pack, I have to confess that I think I will find this useful as even after 25 years of 40k I have not found reading the Hardback rulebook easy going and a newbs guide should get me up to speed...hopefully.

£50 well spent I'd say.

However my tracking number isn't working.

It's a nice looking boxed set. But a shame that they didn't put all that detail and time in, but left the models more generic. Those Marines are more or less useless unless you're looking to field Dark Angels with their silly bathrobes.

Actually, given the success of sales for AoBR, I'm amazed that they didn't release a more generic boxed set.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?
