Painting terrain for Necromunda, and planning how I’m going to tackle the floor sections. Spraying them isn’t the problem, as I’ll just wait for a reasonable weather day and break out the rattle can.

But the drying? That’s gonna take a bit of planning.

I’ve some old bedsheets, so think put that in the front garden, floor plates on top. Then hit it with the sprays.

Two sizable bits done knocked out in around a hour.

Sprayed black, drybrush of Model Color Mahogany for dinge and dirt, top lighter and somewhat more strategic top drybrush of Army Painter Shining Silver. Produces a pretty worn looking metallic which I’m really happy with.

Then some stippled colours. Purple is Screamer Pink, which turned out really well. Orange is Trollslayer Orange, which will do, but I’m not entirely convinced by. However, the orange I think I’ll partially cover with teeny tiny posters.

Mostly* finished my DG Kill Team this evening - well ahead of schedule.

*There's some touch up spots that I need to take care of.

Next up is painting their guns & basing.

This is today’s work. I could do the colour splodges, but I want to get new paints tomorrow, so holding off for now.

I'm basecoating everything.

Everything, yes. I'm not going to have any grey plastic lying around. It might not have more than a base coat, but it will have paint, I swear this.

MOAR terrain. The Magic Box O’Stuff in my front room measures around 2’x3’. And I’m using its dimensions and top surface as a rough guide to how much I’ve got done.

Also really really need to plan how to get the spraying done on the Zone Mortalis tiles.

I have been striving for the same.

Putting moss and highlights on these buildings, then posting about it (cause does it really happen if you don't show pictures to strangers on the internet?)

Todays hobby projects:
1) base coat 2x Ver-Myn Tunnellers (the affordable Termite proxy by Mantic)
2) base coat Assault Intercessor #6 - he got missed the other day
3) attach the drills to the VM Tunnellers.
4) do a little bit of paint work on my DG Kill Teams guns

5) and the big project for the day.... Stripping the paint & glue off a horrendously assembled/painted LI Reaver titan for a friend.
Then re-assembling it (as best as possible, there's some serious damage & even a few missing parts), pinning it, then giving it a new base coat of DA Green & dry brushing it's weapons.
This started with my friend asking me if I could pin it for him. Me: "sure". And then I got a good hands on look at it last night. It's one thing to see this poor thing across the table during a game. I knew it was in rough shape. But it's sooo much worse when in hand. :(

I made a bit of progress in my own, basecoating a bunch of marauders.

More scatter terrain for Necromunda.

Putting some hopefully final touches on a single Bretonnian knight and doing some more progress on my Iyanden Wraithknight!

Painting up more Munitorum Containers, and building a crane piece for Necromunda, and getting that undercoated.

Its finally cool enough that I can basecoat again. So working on some Goblins and some Oathmark Dwarfs.

Finishing up the 1st of 3 units I need painted to mark my Skaven down as "Complete."

Continuing the work on repairing/pinning/magnetize my friends LI Reaver Titan.

It started out as a simple pin-the-legs/waste job.
Then I discovered that to do that would involve a lot more work....

So I'm 1/2way through stripping just Godawful amounts of crap spray paint ("dry" merely holding the model causes it to get tacky & smudge off on your fingers) & some sort of rubber cement (i estimate a whole tube+ was used) off each & every piece.
WHY would anyone spend the $$ on an LI Reaver - & not invest in the proper glue/paint??? Grrr.

Tomorrow I get to start reassembling the thing.

Ah recovery work. I had to attempt recovery of a Warhammer World Warlord Titan head that some cretin had used automotive filler on.

It was irrecoverable.

It's been ages since I last updated here. I've done a few things: Almost finished my Samus Aran statue (I'm happyish with her I still can't get the transition from light to dark on her face quite right) I also bought, assembled and almost finished painting the Kroot Kill Team box 7 of them, to use as K'Erin enemies for an upcoming Five Parsecs from Home Encounter and I've completed the 16th Encounter since I updated. The kids might like to play as them in the next miniature game day in Grimdark Future: Firefight. I just have to base them.

I also finished the Mantic Gunship and the kids loved it when we used it as terrain in a couple of games.

Finishing up my Plague Marine Kill Team tonight.
All I need to do is:
● finish up the blight launcher,
● paint the rims on 3 bases,
● sand & paint the tops of all 6 bases.

Abd that'll be the 1st 100% finished force I've produced since 2020.

Painting gendarmes in 15mm.
Like knights, but with even more colour and extravagance.

And now I'm doing touch up work on the DG KT squad. Mostly on metal parts & details.

It was slightly humid this morning when I hit them with some clear coat. As it dried it produced a whitish tinge. :(
It's not too bad on the armor itself, but it's definitely noticeable on the areas that were intended to be black/gunmetal/weathered bronze.
So.... Going to touch up 1 DG each evening.

Played/demoed battletech alpha strike today at the fgs. Finishing the painting part for the three remaining gnome bb team players.

Doing a special challenge of buying, building and painting a unit of Xiphons in a single day.

Off to a solid start, as the buy and build is out of the way.

I’ve also figured out how I’m gonna undercoat my Necromunda tiles. And that’s putting them on a tarp. A tarp a storm deposited, new in packaging, into my front garden last year.

Been quite busy today. I began painting the new crew member for my Five Parsecs from Home crew, a "Skulker" which is that setting's version of a ratman. I don't have sci-fi ratmen. but I do have some Massive Darkness Ratling minis I bought at a board game convention years ago. It's fantasy, but I'm trying to make it sci-fi with bright colours. I chose a ratman dual swords, cutting one hand off and replaced it with a gun from a Stargrave kit.

I also began painting some scatter terrain, I think I need more diversity as I'm getting a bit bored of the scatter terrain I've got already.

And that includes this beast.











I love it! It really encapsulates Warhammer 40k for me, especially old school 40k. It has a face in it! And its not even by GW but Kromlech. I choose to think its a Chaos obelisk that's for sacrifices. The sacrifice is carried into the teeth of the face to be consumed for the dark gods.

I tried to paint it "old school" too with bronze and black.

Changed some arms and bases on my zombies.
