Wow, those are all beautiful!

Gits, that Ork fig is a real gem.

Really like his browns, tans, and the orangish-brown clothes in juxtaposition with his green skin. His clothing almost steals the show as you have to really pay attention to notice his glare and grimace. His nails and teeth look really good too.

The Wolves are fantastic. Digging the aging/weathering and the gold. Not a fan of the snow but that's just because it looks like clouds or cotton and is so bright that it bleeds color from the minis. My eyes have a hard time focusing due to the "snow blindness effect".

/curmudgeonly rant

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

I have had both my mum and little brother down visiting me for some time, but have indeed gotten some work done! Now to answer alll these posts! My gosh, thats a lot.

Joking, they look great Iff, even with the slightly sub par photos.
That snow is jaw dropping! How in gods name did you do that? A tut of some kind on that would be epic.

I will totes do up a quick tut when I am next using it, its basically a 1:1:1 mix of Vallejo pumice, GW snow effect, and pva glue. It was really hard to get on properly, but dried really nicely

Gitsplitta wrote:That's fantastic work Iffy, start to finish. So dynamic! Love the job you did on the fly boy. No worries!

Thrilled you like em Gits, I love his little life saver and his goggles. I made his goggles super shiny, so much so that they are ruined in the photo from a giant light-glare! haha.

inmygravenimage wrote:The photos really show up the richness of the Vj liquid gold. Great to get my Iffy fix again!

It is so super rich isin't it. I think I am addicted to the stuff to be honest. Such lovely golds so quickly!

Cutthroatcure wrote:I really love that dred, and the wolf skull looks fantastic!

Thanks dude, I am super happy with the skull too. It took quite a while and I painted it using stripes and stippling to try and make it look organic, so I am happy it turned out ok ><

Woo! Thank you I had to make his clothing as piloty as I could, but had to get in some yellow so he would fit in with his friends too. I am hoping he will not stand out in the bad moon army, while still being unique looking.

Curmudgeonly rants are allowed! Its totally down to personal taste, I do like the snow but it is super harsh in photo's, it's a little less blinding in real life. I think bare rock would have looked really cool on the bases.

Here are some Bad Moon bigboys!

According to the internet, these are old War lords. There were only 2 mini versions so I painted each guy a little different to try and trick the eye into thinking they arent all the same >< Just to tabletop standard, but I am happy with their super gritty retro look. The metal itself is that awesome old porous version old mini's used to have.

Just need feedback from Gits and I will varnish and add shine effects to them. Their lenses and eyes need shinin

Warlords isn't quite right, Ifalna - they're the 2nd edition version of Orks (Bad Moons, specifically) in Mega-Armour.

I agree, that's what I remember them being & what I will use them for myself. Paint up some fancy 40mm bases & we'll be all set. I've got 2 more and Nazdreg (Bad Moon IC from the period) to send along too! Going to be quite the nostalgia trip when it's all said and done.

Well... I mean we all know that Iffy is fantastic at maKing marines and eldar and such... models that take discipline and form. But the fact is she paints with great passion and humor as well. Makes her a perfect choice for painting orks.

The internet has mislead me once more :( They are fantastic models though, super chunky and with surprising amount of detailing around the wires I was impressed.

Dawwww /blush, thanks, though I am pretty sure I can find some way better ones through google!

I may have just had a booked commission fall through, so I need to shimmy things around and rearrange some other bookings to make sure I have work ready to go shortly. If I can't, I think I will be painting up some more Warjacks for Ebay

I mainly remember them as they came out not long after I started gaming - though Nazdreg, as I recall, came out a fair while later, linked to the Piscina IV stuff they did. I can find him in the 1998 Catalogue, but can't get the specific WD reference.

I wish GW would remodel mega-armour ... I like the older 'power armour' models like these and I don't necessarily mind the newer, boxier mega-armour ... I just wish they had more variety. I have tried kitbashing my own models to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have just finished reading this amazing blog from start to finish, (that was actually a fair bit of reading in one sitting, ) and, I have to say that I am very impressed at both the painting skills and the improvement in those great skills throughout the thread.

Hope to see much more in the future... You've actually inspired me to try and complete a Space Wolves army I started painting over 10 years ago .

Keep up the great work Ifalna.

Cheers, Dunkelzhan...

Ohh guys, thanks so much. It makes me incredibly chuffed to see people liking my work, thats pretty much the main reason I paint, to make people happy!

Dunkelzhan, I am totally impressed you managed to get through the whole blog. There is a lot of sillyness in between images and it is a lot to take in! I am glad you saw improvement as it progressed, that is totally what I am aiming for. As long as I can see myself getting better, I feel I am on the right track!

Requesting a bit of help.

Quite often I have people ask about these guys

and what helms/eagle heads they have and where to get them. I have had no luck by googling wing visors and winged helms bar finding out the large wings are from Dark Angels veterans, if anyone has any idea what the other helm parts and the eagles are from then I would be super grateful and can finally answer people that ask!

I know I could contact the owner, but it feels a bit out of place to email him months later out of the blue ><
