Yup. Ultramarine honor guards. I must say, the turquoise on them is really nice. The tone is right on, and it's smooooooth

Some really nice commissions in here, almost a crime to give them away! I think thats why I could never do comission painting myself, I wouldn't be able to part company with them!

These honour guard are a really striking colour combo. Very very interesting visually, and the blues are very smooth.

Just caught up, as usual there's been some lovely work in here. Some space puppies and some classic orkses I think, but it all went a bit hazy in relation to the really important stuff.

Actually, there was very little research needed. Fizzgig plush in the search engine gave several hits inc. Amazon, Play.com, ThinkGeek etc. Biggest issue for me is that most seem to come from the States and want a hefty shipping fee to boot. Play don't seem to actually have any, but it looks like it won't be too hard to grab one, and the chamberlain figure too.

Ebay! You can usually find shipping that won't be too horrible either.

My friend used to work for Forbidden planet so could get stuff cheap, and arrived at my house with the Fizzgig, a Jareth figure, and a giant book on the iconography and astrology behind the dark crystal for my birthday. Forbidden planet in Dublin used to get in really amazing merch, but the prices were.. insane.

The Eagle backpack came off of the SM commander sprue, if I recall.

Monkey, it is a freaking fabulous book. Remind me to find the name of it and PM you, I currently have it out on loan to a friend who is using it for a tattoo design so don't have the exact name of it here.

Painted up a gorgeous Menoth warjack today which will be on Ebay tomorrow, no shots though because it is 2.30 am and I'm gonna bed!

Yep! Legion are tonnes of fun to paint, too. I went for the studio scheme because I'd never been able to paint white properly, and it was a good experience.

The studio scheme for them is gorgeous but looks like it would take a lot of trial and error to achieve! I would be a bit scared of trying it out, haha!

I have tried playing it once and it seems just as complex as 40k/fantasy, except you play it with only a handful of models which IMO is awesome. About time mini based games required only a small amount of money to play ><


I finished up the Crusader and I think he looks quite nice considering he is just a little above tabletop level, the white took forever. I really need to stop having such a soft spot for white when I am painting something to sell, but oh well, what is done is done!



I kept him clean and slightly cartoony as I wanted him to be quite close to the "official" look for these mini's while altering the scheme enough to show it was not copied part by part. He has a very cute face.

You could have fun with a dozen models and not have to break the bank too too badly.

I really wish that GW had continued to support Necromunda melded somehting similar into the rest of the 40 universe to keep things fun and give people on a lower budget a chance to break in to the hobby.

@lfalna: Those orks look sooooo good. Can you give a short instruction on the plasma glow?

He is a cool robot man! I love his face.

I am pretty sure when I started playing 40k, I had 2 5 man units and a single command mini, and even that seemed totally unacceptable financially to me. I have to laugh now at the size of some armies, it is absolutely ridiculous. Ridonkulous.

Sure thing! It's actually nice and easy for this kind of tabletop standard. Just choose a colour that will take white well, like turquoise, or enchanted blue, or snot green (reds are tricky as they go pink).

You want to layer the base colour down and then start adding highlight layers with small amounts of skull white added in little by little, so each layer is lighter than the last. For the guns it was just a case of painting an oval on each glow section, and then a slightly smaller oval on top each time I made a new layer, so it ended with a teeny oval of white. Adding washes in between the layers will help blend it all together, and if you go with any of the colours I mentioned, you can just use pure thraka or Blue wash out of the pot

I have some wonderful commission mini's on the way in the mail, but I don't know what to do right now!
I'm still picking at space wolves and spending time making them look super awesome, but I like to get things done for Ebay when I am not working on multiple mini's.

If I start something now, the new mini's could arrive tomorrow and I will end up abandoning wat I'm doing now, oh woe is me and my silly habits! Maybe I should just paint something teeny, like a really old metal marine? That could be cool.

I am also thinking of spending this months profits on a good digicam so I can do livestreams and record tutorials and such, if I did so would peeps be interested? Livestreaming painting mini's would be crazy slow but I could at least pump some good music through it.

who I am now realising I should just put on Ebay cause he is sitting in a case doing nothing.. I will definitely at some point get around to the others, but I was painting them to a standard that took a long, long time and I have to be in the mood to sit and start a big project, ya know?

I just went and had a look in my boxes and boxes of preowned models and came across this in a Nid army set -



I have no idea where these came from, but they are very lovely little snap together marines. I'm going to paint that commander guy now I think, give him a nice little base. Go ultramarine yeah? I've not painted them before and they are the bread and butter of the game.

He was a lot of fun what with having not painted an Ultramarine before and only letting myself airbrush his armor, refused to go back and highlight and forced myself to work with how it looked after airbrushing to learn from it. Doubt there will be much interest in so common a mini but I will throw him up on Ebay anyway, every bit helps.

I think I did the U symbol too thin, I knew it would turn out a bit odd first time I tried it ><
