Seriously though, diorama is pretty damn sweet. Also, fwiw, I think you did pretty well with the OSL on the last page. I like the blue better of the two, but I like my OSL a little brighter than some.

The freeze ray had better color choices I think. Though the chest does look a little better in person, subtlety could put it over the top. I'll see if I can do better on the next one.

Got one Halo themed shirt done for my nephew. I'm considering it a middling success. Learned a bit more, so it's progress. 3 more shirts to do for sure and then we'll see. They really don't take too long once I get going and I'm picking up new things to try as I go. Hopefully I'll have some time to do some minis painting before xmas.

Meet Helga. She's technically a Dreadball MVP but that was before I weaponized her. Back then you may have called her Anne Marie Helder, now you don't wanna do that unless you feel like eating a plasma discharge. Helga doesn't have a specific system, but I think she typically works as a deadzone merc, maybe some kind of authorized bounty hunter in Infinity land. She's got high tech armor, a fancy plasma carbine, an enforceresque wrist blade, what could either be a stick grenade or an E/mauler from Infinity, and some kind of explosive device or mine on her back. Helga doesn't take gak, she's a professional and you get what you pay for when you cover her exorbitant fee. Not one for small talk or necessary details, Helga is a brutally efficient operator with a reputation for "staying bought" when hired, as far as anyone knows she's never defaulted on a contract for higher pay from a third party.

This is more or less what I was hoping for, a quick paint-up that more or less works. I'm not super pleased with the wrist blade, I may touch it up some time. I may paint my space marines in the same color of orange, not sure.

That Helga looks like a brute!!

She needs another touch of color somewhere to create a spot of visual interest. A medium or light-ish color blue on some of the armor plates maybe?

I may have to wait until I'm back on the payroll for the main job, but I'd like to put in a large hasslefree order for various reasons, weaponizing DBX is definitely one of them.

Helga looks great. Always did like that model. She'll probably see more use as a Merc than as a MVP.

Glad to hear you guys like her, I have found the sculpt to be quite charming once properly armed I may even weaponize her sister with some different gear I like her so much.

I think Wyn needs a guided missile launcher over the shoulder . The way his shots moved always made me think he had some sort of kinetic control after they left the stick.

Gun is from hasslefree, wrist blade used to be a combat knife off of the dark angels accessory sprue thing.

As a brief update:

Got 11 mars attacks minis primed yesterday but it was somewhat of an ordeal. I got 3-4 of them done with the airbrush and then my daughter decided to come into the room and start messing with stuff. Attention diverted from airbrush and it was put on the counter instead of in the cradle. Slipped off, landed on the rear of the needle (safety bit/guard was off for maintenance) curling the tip into a hook. This is the older cheaper gun, so I wasn't super furious, just mad. I bought a needle at hobby lobby but it wasn't right. Neither was the second. I determined that one of my spare sotar needles kind of fit, the tip is right but the diameter of the main needle body is just a hair too thick... so I got my drill out and a grinding thingie and milled the entire needle body down by that hair and now it pretty much works again more or less

So yeah, finally got all 11 minis primed but that was it for hobby successes I also got a sheet of foamcore to try out Mr. Souza's little barricade thing he posted recently.

And painting on the human soldiers has commenced, however I'm taking it slow since the fiddly bits like straps and whatnot get on my nerves

I need to make a slightly larger interior section with no walls on at least one side (which is technically the default way you are meant to use battle systems terrain, making outside walls eats up a lot of pieces!) open for better photos.

I got all of the straps and belts done, so now I just need to do the red parts and touch a few things up (like the straps and belts :() and drybrush the black parts. After that it's dippin time and they'll match their finished half-squad.

I now know what I am going to do with my Helga now, consider your idea "borrowed" Grim. It is nice to see a female mini with a bit of a gut and realistic sized bosoms.

As for the Battlesystems/MA pictures very atmospheric. This could lead to some great pictures online if Prodos get round to releasing the AVP stuff.
