Guess I'm ebay trawling for Cypher. Don't want to waste money on Rowboat and a random Grey Knight as a Chaos player.

Wish Chaos would get one of them fancy boxes though. Seriously.

Abaddon, Lucius, Typhus, Fabius Bile - all could do with reworks plus the recent background stuff has us begging for Abaddon's chosen actually getting models and rules too :(

Now only a CSM player.

It also looks like Cypher is being followed by a contingent of Fallen too.

But god that Guilliman model... that is pretty bad. Those legs and that fist are comical. As always Forge World's is much better.

I would think they're part of the base, and not the actual Primarch model.

Primarch model looks great - Dorn or the Khan would have been preferred but RG is fine by me.

I wonder what he will make of Saint Celestine.......

Nope, they aren't, my bad. THey are indeed at the base, behind the model proper.

Hot take. Cypher looks fantastic. Grand master is nothing special but a nice sculpt. The primary looks a bit rubbish. Maybe a less clean paint job will help.

Oh my, that's one damn ugly model. Hey, at least he's, most definitely, going to have super badass rules, so people will have a legit excuse to buy the FW one.

Cypher looks great. But this...this goes into my list of GWs ugliest models to be released. Bleh.

They really need to add a tabard between his legs. It just looks akward, like tiny head and there's no way his body would fit inside that thing and still work. It would have to be a dread suit of sorts.

You're free to interpret it however you like of course - but your explanations are just your own.

As it relates to this release though, Slaanesh and Ynnead are the only Eldar Gods that coalesced from the Eldar in the canon, and I think it's a good thing they took design elements from Slaanesh over into Ynnead

I love Jes' sketches in the white dwarf (as I always love his Eldar sketches anyway)

Agreed on all fronts

I like the slaaneshi elements too. Makes it slightly suspicious, and fits given that they both appear to feed/consume eldar souls in some way...

Also, love Jes' sketches too brilliant stuff

I know this will probably become primarch-central from now on, but here's a question I would like some hints to: why do the eldar think the Ynnari are already dead?

Is it because the original Ynnari are actually the resurrected dead of Biel-Tan? Does joining the Ynnari mean that your soul is no longer yours, consumed as part of the gestalt entity that is Ynnead and gifted/loaned back to you so that you might live again?

Interesting paths they could go down with that one

Think so, yes, it's more of an amplifier than anything.

I certainly can't think of a fluff or crunch instance where a non-psyker has used one.

Ugh Guilliman looks so bad.. not as bad as I feared tho (which is good?). They could have simply made him look like the FW version but nope.. gotta give him a huge flaming sword and massive shoulderpads.

I guess my desire for more serious models means I can only buy 30k models still.

Size comparison of this one vs FW? Are the FW Primarchs much bigger than regular marines?

fw primarchs with out the bases are about 1/4 taller like a head or so. This guy looks like he is twice the size if not more. He grew like twice as much. I think he is twice as taller as a normal marine.

It's a crappy quick cell phone pic (zoomed in to boot as my cell phone doesn't have a dedicated macro feature) but here is on I did a few years ago when I converted Horus into Logan Grimnar.

From L to R: Standard Cadian, FW human inquisitor, "truscale" marine made from a terminator model, forgeworld terminator (technically "human" but heavily augmented in size to almost marine proportions in the fluff), and a "truescale" terminator conversion. I wanted the terminator to resemble the relative size shown on the old 3rd edition BA codex. The primarch model is a bit lower because I wanted to show the heights starting at the same level roughly from the bottom of the feet and he was on a scenic raised base (much like this new plastic one). This new Stormcast Guilliman looks like he towers over them all.

Not my model, but here's a comparison pick I found on Google:

The problem with the plastic one it that it's way chunkier... the pads are larger, the body looks to be wider and more triangular, the pauldrons are larger, the greaves are larger and more curvey while the thighs look to be the same width but spaced really far apart and attached to the hip naturally... like a contemport rather than a person.
Also the weapons are comically large, especially the fist.
