yeah...

I'm new to DAkka and i never saw the previous version of the Army profiles, but I think this a great feature, and I look forward to seeing it populated with loads of armys...
doing my part I uploaded my two sorta complete 40k armys (a army is never ever finnished!)

My nurgle army "'LandFillers' Rescue Party!" and my Eldar Host.

Both were savaged pretty bad by their recent codex, but this just got me off my feet to paint up a few new squads (maybe GW aint so stupid!)

Anyway showing off your armies and looking at other peoples forces is one of the best bitz of this hobby IMO...
So what do you think of my boyz?

Very nice job on mixing Old and New Rhino/ Predator parts on your tanks.

The dreadnoughts look great! Very Nurgley.

The tanks *could* use a few more pustules and tentacles...but that's just IMO.

Good work! This inspires me to take some photos of my own armies...hopefully I will actually get around to doing so soon...

In Eldar armies I preferto see the various aspects in their own colors. I makes Eldar a little more unique and visually exciting.

Nurgle:
I was thinking about updateing the old rhinos to new ones but its quite alot of money, just for transports (which i already have)
so making the new MK2 tanks fit with the old mk1s seems a good way to hold the army together a bit...

When i add in some terminators i'll be doing a over haul of the army, adding matching coruption to the tanks dreads and terminators...
I've ordered 10 the FW nurgle terminators and 10 marines upgrade kits,
so I'll be breaking out the greenstuff and dreamel big time to make the arms and legs fit in with the new FW bodies.

Eldar:
I think while alot of people think that the aspects should have their own colours...
But i dunno i think it makes the army look weak... not very together.
Colour coding your troops sorta shows the enemy how well he's dismanteling your army... "oh good no red troops left... move on to the black ones..."

A big mass of blue sorta shows solidarity... "arrrg theres still lots of blue on the table!"

yeah...

I find the colorful oldschoolness very appealing. Great work with both armies and the terrain!

Speaking of which, another round of photos for those great CoD buildings you have would be quite nice.

I'm looking for some inspiration.

It's this building in particular that I'm interested in:

Specifically a shot from directly above to show the floor layout, and shots from the side the arrow below is pointing to:

<------------

... as all the photos appear to show the other three sides, not just that side. I did a quick layout on a pad of paper what would go into that building, and it's looking like atleast 6 big doors, 8 'broken' bits, 18 regular panels + all the floors and railings and whatnot, and I have enough to do it, but I'd love a few more photos.

It's just one of the best CoD buildings I've seen, and to have one like it would be great.

Yeah...
both this building and the green mech one are better for gaming on because their layouts are easy to put troops on and offer some tactical play.
the other church is difficult to place squads on because of the small floor plans.... my next building will all have 1x2 and 2x2 square floors as a minimum

1x1 is really annoying in games.

I guess building design makes a big difference in how a game plays out... the small church is ok for a squad of rangers or reapers to deploy on since they are a little more difficult to assult when space is tight... in COD you always depoly at the ground level, no one can start off ontop of building, and that building wastes movement since you normally need a six or waste two turns to get a big squad to the to

I think when i make building more i'll tidy up all painting like the bits where glue shows...

original thead where i first posted pictures of building http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/206397.page

top down Plan

damaged building end.. the floor is makeshft from rubble, half way up a level... i think i'd probably make this bit a 1x2 balcony area on the first floor if i redid this building.

I used 14 regular panels 8 double doors and 8 ruined pieces

yeah...

I like the color in the Nurgle army, you always see lots of shades of green, and some brown. Adding some red is something different, but working.

Excellent photos Panic. I should be able to do that now. I've got just enough pieces left over.
