Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program.

I have a kind of template set up, a little typing and copy/pasting and you can change your list dead easy. It sometimes takes a bit of back-and-forth through the books, but that's not an issue for me.

The best part about this is that points can all be done automatically, and you're less likely to miss points than you would be if doing all the calculations manually...

I've never really bothered with list builder programs...

Battlescribe with the Codex besides to make sure the point cost total is correct for each unit.

Highly recommend army Builder. It saves you a lot of time, and you can compare various armies/units per point really fast. It is also good for multiple game systems.

I would use Army builder but I don't feel right paying for my laziness lol so I have been using "+1 Table Top Helper" isn't the greatest but its free and need to do a bit more work pounding out an army list. But for a first draft army list before I start an army is always pencil and paper

I personally love armybuilder, and understand why updates have to come slow (they slow things down so they get less interference from GW, plus the support is fan made so your not buying those updates...hence why i havent reupped my liscense in 4 years.)

AB allows me to stare at a list as I build to fine tune it how I like or add other units and see how well they work together in my head easier then Pnp or using a spreadsheet.

HQ-Builder or Battlescribe

Been using computers since I was a kid, and school instilled a serious dislike for writing. So Lone Wolf.

I build it in my head then transcribe it to paper.

Just on Notes on my iPad. Before I started getting ebooks I used pen and paper but now it's easier just to have everything in the one spot.

Pen and paper. When making a new army list, I'll likely look at previous ones to see how much different units are worth and toss them in if they fit the points amount.

I use an app called battle scribe, mostly because it includes the point costs, war gear options, and profiles, for every army

I use Battle Scribe on my smartphone to keep track of my armies while im on the go.

You dug deep to resurrect this one....

Army Builder if at home, and Battlescribe (we'll see how the new version handles) when at the table.
