That tread plate is a lot cheaper than the plasticard I saw in a model shop which was over 10 quid iirc (may have been a pack of two sheets)

You can see why I was reluctant to use it!
My google search sucks!

Must remember Antenociti next time!

That leaves me with D3 to name, since +1 is already called Scarper (he really is like a dog with a bone ).

Hahaha, I'm honoured! Thank you! The walkways are looking really awesome (something I'll need to get on myself), and I feel like chopping the ends might be a good plan. Unless you need the extra length of course! And you should feel free to ignore my badgering - I can't really talk as I'm getting bugger all done at the moment anyway

Scarper - Badger away...honestly it helps. Naming the guaranteed attendee mangy dog after you was meant as a badge of honour

Well I decided I couldn't wait for a game and so I cut the ends off and undercoated them...along with some other bits too.

Battlefield is generally a good shop, huge variety of goods, nice contact and normally they have reasonable prices, not in this case though. One sheet, 19€.

Antenociti is so bloody tempting, such great stuff, but I can't spend anymore on the hobby right now. Must resist....

Well I slept extremely badly last night and had a huge variety of dreams... Normally I don't remember my dreams but this one was different. So when I woke up I immediately wrote down the important part on my phone. Bare with me....since this is a dream it makes little sense:

I was at my painting table (it didn't actually resemble my painting table it was outside a shuttered garage door on an industrial estate). I was painting my Tech Priest, it was quite late at night. All of a sudden I heard a noise in the sky and turned round to investigate. Behind me was a little cottage and a stream but up in the sky were giant tubs of popcorn (the size of a car minimum) hurtling towards the ground. One of them almost hit the cottage and then started bouncing towards me and my painting table. I managed to jump out of the way and it bounced over my painting table just catching it and knocking it over.

Moments later I walk back towards my upended table and look inside the garage...it was all dark and I couldn't see anything. Suddenly I was pushed to the ground as a squad of special forces, who surrounded the area. They started going into the garage jumping over my table stepping on my models (this made me sad but I was more interesting in seeing the popcorn aliens). Anyway the aliens had gone but left their sweet ride (empty of popcorn). Special forces leave and I walk over to inspect the damage and the first model I pick up is a well posed scavvy.... I've not made yet!

I'm modelling him up as soon as possible so the magos is on hold paint wise for the moment. I have family visiting this afternoon so I'm probably not going to get much done. But I'm excited about Scavvies so expect a proper update soon.

That's awesome! Can't wait to see him. Had you thought of him before the dream or was he constructed entirely in the dream?

jackanory - I hadn't planned him in the slightest before the dream. He is a dream construct and I think that is why I'm so excited. I've got three scavvies in my mind that I plan on making but this one is totally new. I'm still sorting through parts at the moment.

neil101 - Indeed my subconscious is good. I think this guy may have been inspired by Migsula's Mutant "Ghost" since they both use the flagellant head. The thing is I really want some toffee popcorn now too.

Vitruvian XVII - If only you were the first to say that

Even your brain wants you to make more Scavvies! Seriously though, that's pretty awesome.

A while ago, a friend of mine talked me into using a pad of paper by my bed to record my dreams when I woke up. Most of them were the usual dream nonsense that makes sense at the time. There was one, though, where I was talking to a lecturer of mine, and he said something incredibly deep, wise and profound. Something really life changing. I woke up, really excited that I could remember it, and scribbled it down on the pad by my bed. Satisfied, I fell back asleep. In the morning, I looked at the pad again and read:

"Hawk from the moon, rats may climb the cable."

I uhhh... I haven't recorded any dreams since then.

jackanory - It was.

Scarper - I think you're right I want to make some more scavvies. Your dream is very deep and profound!

Well the update....its not going at all well. I've just had to scrap a set of ghoul legs.

I've started a mutant too that is going much better. But he was though out and not dreamed up.

Yeah, sorry about the Special Forces mate, I had to get some of your models to admire. I knew the Popcorn was better than flashbangs - so be thankful

I'd like to say "Peter seek help", if it wasn't that I experienced similar things before. I once solved the major problem of a paper I was writing in one of my dreams, and the actual solution was so not what I had thought of before. And I also dreamed up two models so far. Maybe that's why so many artists are into halucinogens So if you get that subconscious input without taking LSD, well go for it! Can't wait for your dreamsculpt...

neil101 - I reckon Scarper had been listening to some of Jim Morrison's poetry before going to bed (I'm getting the feeling of Deja-vu writing that!)

migsula - Cheers buddy! They seem to have left bruises and destruction in their wake...I though Alpha Legion were meant to be stealthy (well relatively stealthy for a hulking 7 foot tall power armoured weapon)? But thanks for the popcorn.

Baiyuan - When Abigail got up I told her about my dream. She just gave me a look that screamed "Seek help and stop talking to me about little dream models!" The thing she really doesn't like about this whole dream model thing is the mess I've made with random sprues in the living room. Eek!

Chibi Bodge-Battle - groan. Hmmm I'm planning a female scavvy... I wonder if a Sailor Moon outfit would look out of place on Necromunda?

Peter

I know what you mean, I'm just glad I have an extra room for painting and the whole attic for crafting, because my fiance hates it too, when I swamp the living room with sprues (which I did a lot when unsprueing those 15.000 parts for the gaming table).

What you get when a Renegade Autogun mates with a Bolter (Umbra Ferrox pattern)

Not for the dream model (who is turning out to be a total ). This is for the other guy I've been building the weekend, a mutant with eye stalks. As always I've got much less done that I wanted.

This gun looks a little technologically advanced for a scavvy but I'm working on the principle it was stolen Now when I eventually play with the gang I hope I can roll up a drum mag and a gun sight and have enough credits to pay for them. Oh it is also huge but I think it'll work, since I want this chap to be kinda hidden behind it.

Nice autogun! is the mutant with eyestalks based on the old rogue trader pic?

Not based on that picture at all. I'm not planning on replacing his eyes with eye stalks, I'm planning something a little different....

Well, well, the good old "It doesn't fit in? He stole it!" solution! Considering I did the same on Rayo, I have to say it makes perfect sense.

Also the gun looks quite cool. Only one thing and thats about the autogun as it comes from FW, I think it looks strange that there is nothing on top of the barrel. I'd add a folded down iron sight or something.

Baiyuan - Cheers. It is always the best solution.

In the context of the "mutation" I think the lack of detail on the gun will actually make sense.

Well I have actually finished a model in 2011!!!!! It involved much effort and I'm planning on going back to the opticians .

Anyway I built this guy.....bloody hell.... back in September

Please meet Beslim Stone with his Acme zombie prodder

I see him using himself as bait* as much as herding the zombies.

Hope you like him (I'm very happy with the leather holster) and he was a bugger to photo...even with the aperture mode on full. His face really doesn't look that purple in real life but it was the best picture I could get. The second pic down looks more like it.

Progress on the dream model has been slow but through some trial and, mainly, error I'll have three new scavvies by the end of the week (I'm also going to try and finish my Magos and Servitor too). I'm off work all week with very few plans . The week after I'm off too but I have some plans .

* he likes to think so anyway but he generally gets himself into trouble and ends up running away from the Zombies . For this reason he has been named after Wichita and Little Rock.

Peter

ps - Baiyuan....motivate

edit - damn I need to touch up the hazard wire.
