Your army looks brillant. Makes me regret getting rid of my Krieg , though I would have not been able to do them anywhere near your outstanding work.

Out of curiosity, what kind of list do you run with these guys?

I just have two things to say. Number 1 is i hate you and your amazing painting and modeling skills. Number 2 is that you have some of the best painted miniatures i have ever seen. painting up that many models to that level is something i wish i could do for my guard.

@ combat engineer: I definitely want a Gorgon! But I think it will not be part of my next order.

@ IHEARTLARGEBLASTTEMPLATES: I use FW's Siege Regiment Army List. This makes it easier to use the Centaur, Hades, all the artillery, Death Rider, ... I can do without Valks, Chimeras and Sentinels since I think that these don't fit into the WW1 look anyway. And the SRAL gives them +1 WS, Leadership tests without any negative modifications in CC, ...

Now here's some update. I decided to paint these 10 guys together, which can get really annoying. Took me 3 hours to paint all the leather parts with a 10/0 brush ... I nearly went insane.

They all got bayonets, which I will play as if they had laspistols and a close combat weapon. Shorter range of firing but +1 attack in close combat. I'll combine 2 or 3 quads with bayonets for this (2 squads ready) and they'll get a commissar and the Quartermaster (FnP).

Looking great as usual! I painted my grenadier squad in one batch but I used my airbrush to do the basecoat of the leather - the hole squad took me around 6-7 hours without basing.
So you might consider investing some money on a descent airbrush equipment? I'd highly recommend that! This would also make the painting of a gorgon way easier.

Painting all the uniforms and helmets green is easy, I just cover them in Catachan Green with a no. 3 brush. I can't use an airbrush or spray gun for the leather / details now, can I?

edit: Maybe it would work better if I paint everything brown first ... good point.

I played a 2500 point match against the death korp and was beaten into the ground quite badly. It was around 130 guardsman verses 40 space marines and even though we ended up tying in kill points he still had over half his army left in play all i really had left was a landraider that wouldnt die.

Awsome! Have you seen Sucker Punch? It's just there is a part in the movie when they ( the kick a$$ girls) where in the middle of a war (It was like WWII but with mechs and zombie nazi). Long story short your army looks like it just came out of the battle!

But when I saw the trailer, I said "I have to see this!" and then I though "bi- / tri-planes, airships, heavy bi-plane bombers, ..." oh the ideas ...

This is a stunning army. There's no other words to describe it (well, there are but I just can't think of anything. Too much awesome shock, I guess).

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Stunning work man. Seriously great looking army here. I may have to go change my underwear...

Next on the conveyor belt?

There's another squad in the making (25% done) and the Quartermaster is ready to be primed. When these are done I'm at 1500 points and I can start some more games.
I'll try to get to 2000 points till May, but idk if I can do this.

To get these 500 point I'm planning to either buy more engineers, grenadiers, artillery and Death Riders, which I'd prefer, or "just" three Leman Russ (Mars Alpha pattern + Ryza turrets).

But honestly, I should save some money right now as I'm inbetween jobs + moving out ...

Aww fiddlesticks, you have to ruin the sleepless nights of wondering, the hours of work time lost due to pondering, and the eventual breakdown associated with having no chance in guessing correctly what said object is.

So I originally only clicked this as it was linked for the mud tutorial, ended up reading every page, dude amazing friggin work, really. Hopefully I can make my mud work half as well, as for the models themselves, just awesome. You have amazing brush control man, keep it up!

Im sorry Ghosty. Surely you can find another way to have a breakdown?

It's about 1400 in the pic. Right now I have 1440 pts painted. With the Quartermaster done it'll be 1500. I'll try to get to 2000 soon. ( 1/5 of the goal ... )

Here is a small update on the last squad I painted:



- 53 minis painted this year
- 114 painted Death Korps (over all)
- 60 standard Infantry Korpsmen

Right now I'm painting the Quartermaster & Retinue. Really looking forward to posting pics once they're finished! I think you'll love the next update.
It will be a big one!
