I really love makinf Necron pieces, the sharp, dark features with the natural ground cover are consistently satisfying to finish.

While I applaud you for the visual quality and the craftsmanship of all your stuff, terraformer

I do wonder, will you ever do something that truly does block LOS?

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body!

I thought buildings blocked line of sight?

Did they change the rules on LOS and if so which games? Oh my, we might have to line our building walls with lead.

Everything is TLOS now, so if you can see through it it doesnt block LOS.

However, that should have no bearing on what you produce! Dont change your beautiful designs just beacuse of a little rule

Have you guys done any Malifaux terrain? It seems like it would mesh really well with your dense/busy style of terrain.

There should be a warning against reading this whole thread in one sitting. I am left in a state of shock from the unrelenting quality of every single piece posted here. Really genius work. I will follow this thread to the ends of the earth.

I really, really want to do Malifaux terrain. We've had some big projects in the books that got scrapped for one reason or another. We've put together some amazing visions for cobbled streets and dense, complicated systems of victorian houses and walkways and waterways. Hopefully one day we'll have a commission that follows through! I might make something like this just for fun if I get impatient, to go with my box of Malifaux figures waiting to be painted, but time is at a such a premium.

So if it has a window or a gap that you can see through if you put your head at table-level, you can draw LOS through the whole thing? Forgive my ignorance, they don't let me out of the shop to actually play very much lately. So hungry....

If the model can see through a window, it can shoot out, and can be shot in turn. If only a few models in the squad can see (ie because the others are looking through walls) only those that have actual LOS can shoot. If the enemy can see one model of a squad it can shoot the whole squad, but they will get cover.

This sounds reasonable and doesn't sound so different than what I was used to years ago. I've always liked making pieces that you could get a unit on or behind for high ground with a little bit of cover. I was getting the impression that rules were now allowing two tanks on opposite sides of the table to shoot each other through a building just because it has a little hole or window somewhere in the wall, which would make half the models we make phantoms in game play terms. So I'm still wondering what Archont meant about none of our terrain blocking LOS, and if there are any glaring reoccurring issues with what we've been making, or if players out there have some very specific needs that makes a piece of terrain fun to actually use in a game. This just because I really want to make pieces that are playable as well as pretty, and I can't do it without feedback. (Don't worry, I won't compromise quality in my designs, we're good at blending form and function.)

Im not sure that comment had any real validity to it tbh (no offence Archont, just imo).

For instance, your Necron temple is a perfect example of blocking LOS.

Yes, we have more updates coming up, and in fact the next fully finished Project Log that I post here on Dakka and on our page will be the X-board project. (Really Lysenis!)

Do you stand on a windswept precipice and look out to the vastness of the sea and ask "What is this made of?" Do you soar above a bustling metropolis and gesture vaguely downwards at the living, breathing streets that pulse with life and say "What is this made of?" Do you hold a newborn baby in your arms, with all the splendor and mystery and potential that comes from existence itself and ask "WHAT IS THIS MADE OF?" DO YOU????

Well, okay actually it's mostly plasticard, foamcore, scraps and a few of our own resin-cast bits.

It's going to be an ongoing project, likely starting this fall/winter, with new pieces in the series likely continuing on into next year, depending on a few factors like our client's schedule and our own growing book of projects. In other words, it might be a while still.

I think after everyone sees the next wave of big projects you'll all forget about everything else for a little while.
