Sorry, finished the three already. I enjoy doing Defense missions to level up junky gear, so if I come across another bunch of keys, I'll come here first.

Hmm, wouldn't mind having pure poison loadout, saryn and some clan research poison weapon.

The Torid is really, really bad. It may be getting an update soon, but I have a Torid with Serration lvl8 on it and the poison itself only does 20 damage per tick that does NOT ignore shields.

The main 'upgraded' damage is the lobbed attack itself. The Torid has 5 shots per "magazine" and fires really slow with a slow projectile speed. You're better off using a shotgun.

Haven't tried the Acrid yet, but I'm afraid to use a Forma on it. It's the Poison Pistol, and if it's as bad as the Torid, then I'll wait until DE fixes it.

In other news, Warframe has been announced as a launch title for the PS4. How this will impact design of the PC version of the game, we'll have to wait and see. But I can only hope that this does not get in the way of content production, and that it doesn't end up 'consolizing' the PC version.

Adding on to fafnirs post, the PS4 trailer is quite frankly thR greatest trailer for a game I've seen (maybe not including a meat bicycle for two) IMO it captures how warframe can be with good communication and variety (fafnir, why you hate skill variety ) of skills and using them at the right time.

I don't hate skill variety. In fact, I'm possibly the biggest proponent there is for skill variety.

I just want those skills to be worth using. Good game design doesn't just give you a bunch of options, good game design requires those options to be worth using.

Good point, I still use skills regardless of how good they are. Each skill CAN and WILL be useful

Yes, but if you have to jump through hoops to use them effectively, and it's still not worth all the work required to simply using one of the other skills, you're really not doing much more than masturbation, really.

One example where I'll have to say that's clearly not true is Nyx.

I don't think I need to explain just how painfully useless Psychic Bolts is (seriously, it's amazing how much DE managed to screw that one up), but look at Absorb.

On paper, it's a pretty bad ultimate, but it can still have its uses. However, when we compare it to the rest of Nyx's skillset, namely Chaos, we start to see where the real problems start showing up.

First up, comparing the costs to the the effects, Chaos is cheaper and generally outperforms Absorb. And by "generally," I mean all the damn time. There simply is not a single instance where Chaos is outperformed by Absorb. Chaos is not blocked by cover, does not require enemy aggro, and I don't think the cost needs further mention.

But here's where Absorb really gets killed: Not only is it completely inferior to Chaos, but its usage completely conflicts with it.
By using Chaos, you remove enemy aggro from yourself. Absorb requires enemy aggro to even function. And since Chaos is always the better skill to use, Absorb is rendered entirely and completely worthless.

Had Absorb had an effect that could be used in concert with Chaos, then it might actually be worth using. But the fact that it demands to be used instead of Chaos but cannot provide any sound justification as to why, it is absolutely pointless to even have it on your skill bar, especially when you can benefit from 5-7 more mod points instead.

Nyx is a through and through royal feth up. I was referring to frosts 2nd skill and loki's decoy.

Decoy's awesome. I mean, it's not nearly as good as Invisibility, but it gets the job done for your teammates. Just hope it doesn't get killed too quickly.

Frost's wave isn't useless, not nearly as bad a situation as Nyx, but at the end of the day, the only reason anyone ever takes him is Snowglobe.

And Mag... good god, Mag. Talk about a useless frame. Only thing she has going for is her ultimate, and even that's not very good.

Mag's ultimate is arguably one of the best.

It has tremendous range, and with the helmet, is the biggest damage-ultimate in the game. Unlike Banshee and Ember, you're invulnerable during the animation. Unlike Ember and Volt, it stuns enemies during the animation. Unlike Volt, there is not much of a startup time between the skill activation and the skill being useful. Damage is tremendous too.
The only ultimates that come close in comparison are Banshee for the multiple-pulse damage and Saryn for the huge damage + stun.

Bullet Attractor is a great boss-puncher, but not much beyond that. Combos hilariously with Exclibur's Radial Blast to almost one-shot most bosses.

Regardless, Shield Polarize is awful and Pull is just a fun yet silly gimmick.

Every frame has a less-than-useful skill.

I just wish they'd stop making more frames and start making more skills for existing frames. The next frame will be "antimatter"-themed. I guess it'll have yet another huge AoE damage ult.

Mag's helmet doesn't increase damage, only range. The damage itself isn't actually that great compared to other ultimates, and is reduced by armour, which absolutely kills it against late-game enemies.

Bullet Attractor is only good if your teammates cannot aim. Otherwise, it actually acts as a hindrance, since you cannot land headshots with it. I honestly hate it whenever I'm with a Mag that casts bullet attractor for that reason.

Funny thing- I managed to get exactly 300 Rubedo, just what was needed. I'm down to 0 again. Same with Gallium.

Mostly I'm just looking forward to smashing in the non-faces of all those Ancient Disruptors. I hates them, precious.

I think for the twin-stick-y-ness of it- the aim and the movement are independent, and the dual joystick setup of modern controllers really works better for that. Also, you could easily map the 'switch weapon' to a shoulder button, 'switch power' to the other shoulder, fire to left trigger and power to right trigger, with jump and melee as thumb buttons. The sprint and crouch buttons, of course, would be joystick clicks. And the inventory of consumables usually accessed via 'q' could become a d-pad menu.

Two new weapons added to the game, a polearm and a boomerang. Polearm looks like just another melee weapon (ie, only good for its charge attack), and the boomerang looks like just a reskinned glaive.

I have the blueprints for both, and the resource costs for the boomerang are ridiculously high (8 morphics!). On the plus side, at least the costs aren't as stupidly high as the Glaive (as in, only slightly less stupid).

I'll craft the polearm, just to see what it's like (although I doubt it will break any expectations), since I only need to get one more morphic, but after that, I doubt I'll be playing for much of the weekend. Not much to do while I'm waiting for Frost to finish crafting.

Oh, Frost is amazing.

Use Freeze on Shockwave Moa, and on things like Disruptor and Poison Ancients that you don't want to get too close- but don't discount its damage, either. I upgraded mine, and I can blast apart Shockwave Moas in a single shot now.

Ice Wave- takes a lot of positioning, which is hard with such a slow frame, but can absolutely wreck a ton of enemies, for a lot less energy than Avalanche.

Snow Globe is, of course, amazing with it's binary "Can't shoot in" feature, but you really need a good long-range weapon to take advantage of its protection, else it's mostly just a nice AoE slow.

And boy howdy is Frost nice and tanky. It's essentialy Rhino with slightly different skills- instead of a charge, you have a wave- instead of radial damage and knock, you have single target freeze- instead of personal protection from everything, you have aoe protection from projectiles, and then there's the ulti, which is essentially the same on every frame.

I had frost before I reset. He was okay. Mostly getting him for completion's sake. Although he's decently fun to play as, I guess. He'd be a lot cooler if he didn't have problems with enemy armour ratings at higher levels though.

Ah. Well, that's what the Fragor is for, I suppose.
