Well, I was making a point more about how his gameplay becomes completely overcentralized towards a single skill towards late-game.

He'd be a little more interesting if there were more enemies that relied on shields, since then his ice abilities could at least be used as an early shield-popping nuke (ice does double damage to shields).

It does seem odd, doesn't it, that of the three factions, two rely almost entirely on armour and damage reduction- one of which has very few 'mod' ways of negating it. Just about the Corpus are the only ones who regularly utilize shields, and half the time for them it's from Shield Ospreys, which recharge the stupid things like crazy.

That'd be a neat precept for Sentinals- Osprey Hunter.

Hell, if there was a sentinel that did nothing but shoot down ospreys, rollers, and scorpions, I would snap it up in a second.

In other news, apparently, the rewards for defense missions have been overhauled, and they seem to be ridiculously generous. Considering the rate that void keys and multi-shot mods are supposedly dropping at, you may want to get some scrapping in over the weekend, since I can't see something like that lasting long after that.

I might jump on tonight, if I can finish the artwork I plan on doing in time. If anyone else is on, I'd be happy to do some defense or void runs.

I can't really say for sure. Depends on how much work I get done, and how much more I want to do after that. For now, I'll say maybe in 5-6 hours?

As an aside, I've got more keys. With the new update, they're dropping like crazy. Whenever you're all up/down for a run, I'll host. Got two Tier II this time; they're soloable, but I'd rather not.

As an aside, Frost becomes almost essential at higher-tier defense missions involving Corpus. You can lose that mission in mere seconds if you're not paying attention, and a Snow Globe becomes a godsend.

Just went through 3 level 2 extermination runs, and my first time in the void. I'm amazed that there were people that payed $5 per run for that. Good god, boring as hell.

It's only the rewards that are of any value. Also great to here about the drop rate!

They updated the drop lists for defense missions:


Xini Defense counts as a Tier 3 Defense even at waves 1-5, so I have a 30% chance of getting a Tier II key every checkpoint with a 3% chance at a Tier III. Still trying to get that damn Thunderbolt.

It kinda wrecks light infested. Even a level 1, with no mods on it, can one-shot lvl 15s or so (though Ancients kinda screw you over.) Pretty cool, really. Might pop a vid of some gameplay up.

Still prefer the Fragor, though, I think.

I won't use mine until my Frost finishes cooking in the foundry. I've heard the charge attack is pretty good as far as power, speed, and range is concerned, and that's all that actually matters, so I look forward to it being pretty good.

The Orthos or the Fragor? Because the Fragor's ground slam is where it's at. Basically turns you into a Shockwave Moa.

I'm speaking of the Orthos. Gram's got a solid jump attack as well. But with the pitiful damage boost offered by the Pressure Point mod, anything that isn't a charge attack quickly becomes useless. Even the stun factor of jump attacks isn't particularly inspiring.

I'm pretty sporadic, since there's very little content to actually play. If I had a specific time that I was online at, I'd definitely tell it, but I don't really have one. Although I'm usually up until pretty late.

Nice, just testing out the othros capabilities again and on thomisto it 2 shots mostly everything, 1 shot if critical or charged. Against ancients it does 2 shots if criticals and charged.

I'll bee modding the fire-rate, damage, crit chance and the crit damage, then adding elemental depending on mission.

Edit: as a comparison to the dual ether (the previous melee big dakkaz) it kills stuff a lot faster, if you think that's expected here's some differences between my othros and dual ether

-D ethers have 3x damage to light infested, kills a group of 6-10 chargers in avg 10 seconds.

-othros mainly die to range does the hole group in 2-4 hits about 1.5-5 seconds

The really funny thing is that my D ethers are fully nodded and lvl 26 while my othros is lvl. 5 and only had +7% damage

And the Orthos is crazy amazing against infested. Crazy amazing.

It's easily the best melee weapon now. Does 200 damage on charge, just like the Gram, Scindo, and Fragor, but it charges slightly faster than even the Gram, and has more range than all of them.

Shame it clips with everything in the history of ever when it's on your back.

Personally I don't hold with charge attacks- which means the Reach mod is still on the table for me.

There is. Not much going on with it at the moment aside from occasional teamups- everythings crazy expensive, so we don't have even a single new room up. But feel free to donate a few resources if you want, or just hang out.
