So is anyone still playing this? Finally managed to build a new sword, which is nice. But then the game lagged out/locked up on me in the middle of a game. =\

Just doing pick up games or solo.

Would have enjoyed seeing one of you guys on, but we never seem to synch up. I guess I'm just not enjoying this game. And I wanted to.

When things are going well, the combat is action packed and intense, and the sword mechanics are great. The powers I've got so far are meh, and of limited use, but good when they work. I've been playing the Mag.

The lack of loot is definitely discouraging. Got to level 11 and only one piece of loot so far, the sword you can craft (Cronus?). That's it, plenty of credits but you need platinum(?) to buy anything else. I assume you have to purchase the platinum with real money.

This is the problem with many of these microtransaction games now. Extreme stinginess/greed. You can have all the guns you want...if you pay real money for them!

Also the players I've seen so far in my computer-matched games have been terrible for the most part. No communication, running around like berzerk, adderall-injected maniacs without pause. Have often failed missions due to players unable or unwilling to cooperate. Very frustrating.

But the straw that broke my camel's back today was a wicked crash. Completed a mission on Europa, then the screen went black and a heartbeat flatlining sound effect played. Computer wasn't locked up and I got to the task manager to see the game was running, but I couldn't kill it. Kept immediately putting me back to the black screen. No mouse functionality.

After about 5 minutes of this I was forced to do a hard reboot.

I think I'm done with this, sadly. Great potential, but needs some refinement, and for God's sake why are they so stingy on the loot? No one is gonna pay RL money for this!

Unfortunately that's how the game been like after last update, it's nerfed everything. And in order to get weapons you've got to buy the blueprints, which are credits not platinum, and loot drops quite a lot, but the loot is resources to use on crafting stuff from blueprints.

That's an interesting way to get people to craft stuff...
Though it is annoying and basically means you have to grind levels to get the credits to buy recipies and then the resources to make them...

Still waiting to see anything cool about this game that makes me want to actually log in for beta-testing, other than good combat mechanics and mediocre-tech hallways. Level 14 and still haven't gotten ONE new gun, still using the newbie stuff. I have just not been able to discover how to get a better gun in this game. I bought a blueprint, for a gun that I thought looked cool, but then I discovered that grinding the items required to produce that gun would require me to be level 25-30 and do quite a bit of mission progression to the Earth line of missions. WHY didn't they tell me that before I bought the blueprint? Why don't they make it easier in-game to figure out how to get a better gun, aside from spending $$$? It's...it's like they want you to spend 5 bucks for 1 gun! Hah!

Yeah joking aside, very discouraged at the extreme grind to get even 1 new gun or weapon. This game is a merciless grind in that regard. They need to be less stingy with the god damn guns!

So, big problem with this game is it does not tell you what blueprints, which are all affordable after a decent bit of grinding, will require items that you can't acquire until higher levels. This is a pretty big flaw. This actually was the straw that broke my camel's back, because it's either a guessing game with extreme credit expenditure, or you go to the wiki and research what you can build at what level, with a strict item-weapon grinding pathway.

That's a really bad idea, IMO, they should just fracking tell you what weapon you can build at what level range, and take the guesswork away.

Of course, they want you to spend 5 bucks for 1 gun, so they're not going to make it easy. And this is still BETA! People are spending RL cash on weapons in a beta-stage game.

Edit: just to clarify, the game lets you buy blueprints for anything, even high level stuff, but to build those items in their crafting system, the blueprints require items. Fair enough. It fails to tell you what items you need until you buy the blueprint, or how/where to get them, and offers no mechanic to buy them in some kind of player-based market auction system. You must grind these components to build your blueprint. Each blueprint requires items from various level-based sectors of the game, and there is no information offered in-game on where these items drop. You are simply made to grind and grind and grind until you discover what sectors drop the items the blueprint you want to make is found. Or you look at the Wiki. Or you pay to win. Fail!

Next update they are adding clan trading, and the dojo system, added in the same update as trading, will really be good adding a good sense of community, me and the high level guys in the clan could build a very good area, it's kind of the end-game of this at the moment

Probably work

I really wanted to like this game. Unfortunately, one of the guys we played with made the mistake of noticing the grind. At that point, the edges of my suspension of disbelief were peeled back so far that I couldn't really get back into it without realizing I was playing the same generic MMO all over again:

Grind to get the good loot, so that we can use the better loot to grind to get the good loot.

you do know if you go to pg.4 of the weapons part in shop you can buy weapons blueprints, then the resources aren't that hard.
anyway, update 8 is coming in less than 2 weeks so lets start putting together some resources for a dojo!
ive got frost prime, for the noobs prime warframes are extremely powerful, upgraded versions of regular warframes

Was having fun for a while, but started to really hit a wall with the grind for equipment. Bought a new gun with the credits I earned, realized I didn't like it at all (why is there no test function?), and now I felt like I've really wasted my time. The grind to get anything in this is obscene, and if you're not completely satisfied with what you get as you get it, it's far too long dicking around with nothing to get something that might be enjoyable (or might just result in more dicking around, because let's face it, you can't know whether you'll like what you buy until you've sunk the credits/plat in).

No thanks, I think I'm done.

I'm sorry you feel this way, once you get over the initial problems I can assure you it's a good game. May I ask exactly what stuff your using warframe, primary, secondary and melee? I could help you quite easily with this info.

I got bored and tried it again, and this time I felt like I picked it up properly. Instead of spending most of my time crouching behind cover, I went about it all space-ninja-like, and found myself enjoying it quite a bit.

One of the problems with weaponry in this game is that it starts off at Rank0. Compared to a Rank 30 (or 60) weapon, a weapon lacking any mods is a bore to level up.

Stick with it. Most weapons are pretty good.

I'm a fan of Gorgon, Hek, Akbolto, Fragor, and Glaive myself.

After looking at the amount of time I already spent in the game yesterday, I put a little money forward and tried out the Frost and Volt frames. Frost is pretty cool, and I like how he just doesn't give a feth about anything, but the poor mobility really hurts him.

Volt, on the other hand, is a monster. He only has one skill that I find myself using really often, but holy crap, I use it a lot. Speed is amazing. Going with the standard Snipertron/Bronco loadout is incredibly fun. It's pretty funny watching teammates slowly plink away at some grinneer with an assault rifle, only to casually walk up and turn his face into a fine red mist with a quick tap from the Bronco. The merits of the Snipertron go without saying.

Although I wish the Snipertron wasn't so pointless against infested.

Wow your taking like an advanced player, I like it! I run the Loki warframe and am on the verge of getting ash. With ash I'll use boltor, akbolto and dual ether. With Loki I'm currently using Paris, akfurus and Zoren. Your running quite a good build! I've got frost prime in my foundry due to the event last weekend.

I'd love to put money towards this game but I'm in really bad financial problems, hell I barely have enough money for food. Shame I'd love to support, probably, my favourite game.

I think one of my problems, and one of the bigger problems with the game, is the really slow start it gets you off to.

I started with the Loki frame, and although it's kind of cool, it doesn't do well with the beginning loadouts. In order to embrace a close-quarters mobile playstyle, I tried out the Strun, but it ultimately ended up being disappointing, and only put me in a deeper rut.
Honestly, I think a much better way to start the game would be to give players a wider selection of frames (you can only select one anyway, might as well make that selection a little wider), and give you a few tutorial missions with each frame before you actually pick one.

You can select 3 frames Loki isn't a good starter but when you become an advanced player the skills you learn with him pay off. He's a jester, use him to fool your enemy.

You can only select one of three frames. I think a wider selection would be better. Each one essentially represents a different playstyle, and it would be nice to see more preferences catered to from the get-go.

Agreed, what's your in-game name, if I've already sent you a request then I've also sent you a clan invite. Please accept these so we can start on the dojo when update 8 comes.
