Nice ships Bob, I am jealous. You have greebled them up a treat.
Have you done anything with the not at all Orville ships?

Thanks!

I haven’t done anything with the not-Orville ships. I wasn’t planning to make them any less Orville, and we haven’t done any painting in months—not since we painted up some tanks for Horizon Wars.

Hmmm....

Is there a Horizon Wars-style ultra-simple game for spaceships?

There is!

One page rules has a ship game actually- War Fleets. Here's their page with the one off games that leads to the google doc rules-

https://onepagerules.com/portfolio/one-off-games/

Actually they've got rules for just about everything at this point. If you wanted to have Forge Fathers fight Custodes or Stormcast fight Basileans, you could actually do it officialy.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I’ll have to try that with my usual playing group...an8 year old, a 9 year old, and a 5 year old who just likes rolling dice and dice-adjacent objects.

Those Scourge ships are things of beauty.

Definitely some sweet space ships.

Here is a scale shot for some of the ships I’ve painted. The Star Trek ships are Attack Wing models, the green and red is a Battlefleet Gothic cruiser, and there’s a Scourge cruiser next to it. Brown, red and gold is a DFC Resistance frigate. The rest are the ships from PSC’s Red Alert range.

You fleets are coming along nicely! It's cool to see the finished product after seeing it being worked on.

Your ships have got Barzam eyeing some of those Red Alert ships now. No more steampunk spaceships for him I guess...

Thanks!

Sounds like PSC sold out. I think I still have some ships I can give to Barzam.

Is one of the Red Alert ships painted wood?

Going to have to steal that...

After I figure out how to make it look good.

Which one do you mean, Kid Kyoto?

We used the Red Alert ships for a zoom painting party. I gave a few of my friends some paints and some spare Star Trek AW minis and Red Alert ships to paint. I mostly painted my RA ships with leftover paints from the Star Trek minis (perhaps mixed together). Mostly. Two of them were painted by my son in a variety of colors. He then gave me his blessing to tie the colors together with a wash and drybrush and detailing.

Number 4 on the left looks like it was made out of 2x4s, which would be an awesome idea for a space ship.
