So, I had an old AOBR captain sitting around all bare-headed in my bits box for most of a decade it seems, when I finally found inspiration: the DA upgrade sprue. A sprue so nice, I'll buy it twice...eventually. Anyway, I also gave him a lot of DA bling from the Ravenwing and Veteran sprues, as well as two pairs of majestic wings from the DV set. I'm not sure if he's blinged enough. Any suggestions?

He'll be my chapter master until I finally get around to converting that Terminator Librarian-Chaplain with jetpack and dual Guardian Spears.

Do you have the 2E arms for them?

I'm selling them. Are the 2E arms the ones in the little sprues with the bolters? I have those arms and a tiny sprue of backpacks that came with them. Are they special? They look like modern Space Marine arms to me.

Now that there are plastic kits for Mk3 and 4, I'll be able to use those when I buy the resin version of the kit.

Oh, OK. They go together. The 2E arms and pads are very slightly smaller than current SM arms.

Also plainer with different poses. 2nd edition arms had no vents on the sides and an open palm, 3rd edition had the cupped palm. The guns are also different.

I've had these photos on the iPad for a while now and finallly decided to upload them. (Photobucket is largely to blame in that it sucks. Please be and angel and recommend a free image hosting site that won"t kill my enthusiasm.)

This update is all about the spaceships.

Added a laser designator and cowling for a plasma cannon to my Skynettish fighter drone.

Strain ships. Simple yet effective.

Some Robotech-inspired space/jet fighters.

The Space Battleship Yamato ship in original form and a far superior form.

My heavily converted Dropfleet Commander UCM battleship was a labor of love. Love and caffeine.

I'm assuming that Dropship ship is plastic right? The coloring makes me think resin. I see a mess of guns and and long jutting out parts and I'm trying to figure out how it all works.

How big is it? Looks neat. If they're plastic I may have to eventually look into getting some just for the heck of it.

What'd you make those Strain ships out of? Reminds me of Tyranid ships. I'm guessing they're leftover bits of something, but what?

Always fun seeing whatever concoctions you've come up with.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

The DF ship is indeed plastic. DFC has plastic cruisers and escorts for four factions, as well as a plastic space station set, and they are the best plastic space ship sets on the market in my opinion. I plan to buy more next time I go through a spaceship phase.

The battleship I made is twice as wide as a cruiser through the main hull, much longer, and very massive. It's roughly the volume of a BFg battle barge, maybe a smidge more since it isn't flat and hollow on the underside. I'll have to put a photo up of it next to the cruiser as it is meant to be built. I started a similar project with my Shaltari sprues and Scourge, but gaming ADD struck before I got very far with those.

The Strain ships are made from the Sedition Wars terrain. Each SW terrain box comes with two of each Strain Zerg building thingies, and three of them are bilaterally symmetrical , so I just glued those together, bottom to bottom.

Thanks!

I just finished making a Frostbrave wizard and apprentice using only parts from the Shieldmaidens sprues. When I get home I'll post a pic. I guess I'm into wizards now.

Curious to see your new wizard.

Will she be an Australian one as well, or will she be American side up?

I forgot to post pictures of this little guy. He's made from a few gunpla parts, another simple yet effective mini in my esteem. I was trying to make not-Invid in tiny little RRT scale to fight my RDF and Zentraedi, usually using Zaku heads and shoulder pads with blades and wings to get a crabby look, but this is the one I felt most satisfied with. It's like Flight of the Navigator meets Starfox.

Thanks, guys. I'm not sure how that image survived.

Some day, I'll move everything to a new host site and think really hard about updating the links. Really, really hard, so hard I just give up.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, host 'em on Dakka!

It's not like the process is all that different.

We need your crazy conversion heavy stuff posted again so we can pilfer all you neat ideas!

But they'll all end up 'Australian' due to my upload ignorance...

I'll see what I can do. I have been toying with the idea of posting my Helmet Parade Spectacularrr, that is all the minis whose bare heads have been snipped and replaced with sensible head gear. Not terribly exciting or creative conversions but deeply satisfying.

You don't have a basic image program that can rotate and crop pictures?

BTW, Dakka has auto-adjust, so you wouldn't need that.

I'm posting from an iPad. For some reason, the images will only show up properly oriented if I had the iPad in a specific orientation when I took the pictures. I've tried to figure out how to fix the issue, but I'm not really an Apple person and fairly lazy.

I'm working on my High Eldar now, and I wanted to post a picture for two reasons:

1. To see if it comes out right side up.

2. Because I'm about to add an Eldar beard of the patriarchy to this guy and there's a very high chance of ruining that beautiful face of his.

Here they are. My liquid green stuff is all dried out, so their eyeholes still have eyes and their melted faces aren't as smooth as I would like.
