Thanks, guys! Kyoto, I look forward to seeing your Resistance but even more to seeing what you make with all the spare Resistance bits and all those Star Wars models.

I’m not sure what to work on next: more Resistance ships or some Scourge battlecruisers?

Do the Scourge. I'm curious what can be done with the bits.

I'm seriously digging those ships. Just finished the first Culture book and reading about those ships is getting me more and more interested in the space stuff- that rarely happens with me!

Keep it up!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Alright. I’ve got two Scourge ships in the preliminary stages of conversion, with most of the planning done but subject to adjustment depending on how things actually fit together. I also have another space station cruiser mostly done for my Lost Colony of Cobalt (that’s what I’m thinking of calling that faction).

The Culture series is great. I’m glad you’re finding a love of spaceships. Join us.

Have you read the Hyperion Cantos? The DFC space station kit seems perfect for building that series’ nomadic fleet of torch ships.

I've got Hyperion sitting on my shelf. Trying to finish up Condor Heroes and then that's next on my list, along with those samurai yokai hunter books you let me borrow.

If I can pull myself away from my Kingdom Death stuff I may crack open those Shaltari kits I've got.

The Shaltari ships are really cool. They have such a great high-tech vibe while also looking like something out of Babylon 5.

Has there been a lot of new Kingdom Death stuff? I thought it would be years before we got wave 3.

Work on the Scourge ships is coming along slowly. We’ve been sick, and my son has been home for school for four or five days already. Anyway, these are a couple of my Lost Colony ships, a cruiser and a monitor. At first I had some wingtip assemblies on the cruiser to bulk it out more, but I didn’t like how it made the ship look like a clunky K’Tinga, and there were too many guns. So, I tore them off, but included them in a few pictures to get the idea across. They’ll show up on something else.

Space Marines! The first is one of the Space Marines Heroes collection given to me by Barzam. I blinged him out as promised. I even drilled out his bolted barrels, having found my pin vice ai lost in 2012. The second is my chaplain converted using some bits Whalemusic sent me for Secret Santorc including bits from the much-lauded Ravenwing Accessory Sprue. His base was the real reason I haven’t posted pictures of him earlier. I just finally got around to it.

Those are my kind of marines!

Enough requisite flash on their outfits that they could get a job at Friday's.

Actually I think Bob’s done an admiral job of removing the flash and making sure each marine has the requisite 10 pieces of flair. Everyone knows the Codex Astartes requires each marine to wear 10 pieces of flair. Now I’m gonna need you to get out of Bob’s thread and work on those TPS reports for me Highlord, mmkay? That would be great. Good talk.

Oh yes, Space Marines need flair. At some point I’ll have to bling out some primaris marines just to see what they would look like as proper 40k minis.

Anyway, here are some Tyranids I made. I guess the Hive Mind was trying a few things.

Next is an Inquisitor and a chaplain of the Loyalist Sons project I was working on back when I read the Dornian Heresy and could get excited about things.

Then, not only did I make some terrain, but I painted it.

Oh yeah, I had a couple more Star Trek kitbashes, too. (Not pictured: Star Wars ships whose round thrusters were replaced by rectangular impulse drives. Also, added more little details to the 3D print I got from Intgaer after the photo was taken...and I’m never going to stop until it is a gribbly ball of plastic.)

Here are a couple more Star Trek kitbash abominations.

One of these ships fits in with the Baio fleet, constructed at the McQuarrie yards off the Planet of Titans.

The other is my loving homage to the Centaur class frankenship. I tried to stay authentic by using an out of scale Miranda rollbar as the engineering hull and pylons. I also added a bunch of random gribbly bits to muddy the outline, as has been done since time immemorial. The Wizkids Excelsior doesn’t have anything close to an accurate shuttlebay, so I had to get creative for the bizarre yet mandatory nose-bay.

The Y-wing hull works surprisingly well, although the pedant in me is struggling to not point out that Roddenberry's rules dictate that the nacelles should not have hull blocking LOS between them... Given that Star Trek designers have been cheerfully ignoring those rules for decades, it probably gets a pass.

The Centaur is really cool.

I’m not sure there was ever a time when all the ships in the show obeyed those rules. Word on the street is that Roddenberry made the rule of pairs because he didn’t get the sweet Technical Manual money and wanted to decanonize it. The line of sight rules are attributed to him, but I’ve heard they are actually a result of Probert being anal. Long story short, I don’t feel obligated to follow them all that closely, although I am happiest when my conversion do.
