Okay, so I bought White Dwarf this month, and had a good read in the netty whilst waiting for the Brown Trout to emerge.
And I looked at the photos of the Studio Open Day. One of them was of a Dungeoneering game, but one where the dungeon tiles looked fairly well polished. Certainly, they looked thicker than WQ and Advanced Heroquest....
Anyone know if this is an upcoming release at all? Or was it just a Studio Members flight of fancy?

Dude ... Englishman living in the US - thanks for the slang. Made my day and made me smile during a crappy day at work. The image however is somewhat horrifying!

This did pique my interest as well. Notice that the doors/barricades are moulded plastic too. I cant tell if the doors are just monolith doors or if they are new items though. There are models with circular and square bases, and it does look like a WHFB universe. The caption is merely 'Welcome to the dungeons of death - Nick Bayton leads intrepid adventurers on a thrilling quest' which doesnt give much room for curiosity, but the word 'quest' instantly screams 'warhammer quest' in my desperate mind. There is a great unclean one in the pile of minis off the board, and what looks like a bunch more daemons too. The artwork looks quite professional and is not a reprint of any warhammer quest tiles that I am familiar with.
All I can say is that it is interesting, and if anybody was there or read a review from someone who was there, then please share!

Some of the tiles are the same cut shape as Quest, can see the classic t-junction in there, but it does appear to be new artwork, not photocopies of the old.
Can we dare even hope?

I'm curious about these photos as well, being a fan of the old Warhammer Quest (still have my copy in almost pristine order!). A link? Or is it here on Dakka and I have somehow missed it?

Wasn't the story with WHQ that they somehow lost all the artwork files when they moved to their current HQ?
So maybe it's WHQ with new, replacement artwork.

From the picture, and it is fairly small, the board sections *appear* to be 2d, and yet, they also seem to have a base of some kind, certainly they look thicker than the old card ones.

That's a very good question. We can determine the answer if you just answer the following question.
How often do you find yourself running down the street with a Claymore in hand while shouting your clan name?
If it's more than once a week then you are probably invading.

Wait, so if he's only doing it once a week, he's not invading at all, merely eating too much British Beef? D:

Here is a very bad photo of the image. If anybody has a scanner then please scan it in so we can all see a better version. I think it is probably just a studio person's private project and it is probably nothing to get our hopes up over, but you never know, WHQ might be coming back as a mighty-empires/cityfight style expansion for warhammer (fingers crossed!)

Thanks for the picture, legoburner.
That does look interesting... From a distance I would almost think from the coloring of the tiles that this was a possible re-release of Space Hulk, but that's partially the small pic.
The tiles do look pretty thick, but then that could just be that the tiles are printed out, then spray mounted down onto black foamboard. If this is just a trial of some kind then that thickness could be explained that way. They would be quite a bit thicker than standard treated cardboard that GW HeroQuest-like games have.

I do remember jervis commenting, many many moons ago, that WHQ would be far too expensive to redo as it was. There was simply far too much in the box (anybody who ever tried packing all that stuff away again will agree). However, if they were to redo it, all the dungeon tiles would be redone in plastic. The general gist was that plastic tiles could be done in-house, and worked out considerably cheaper than the cardboard to produce.
Now, i have no idea what we're seeing in that photo, but i love quest, and i deeply hope that it returns someday
