I nominate the Deff Dredd. It's $50 and provides a pathetic BS2 with a maximum range of 24". It's got decent potential in CC. At least it does fill an entire heavy support slot.

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

Oh, this one is easy. Gotta be Ogryn. $20 a peice, or $60 for a minimum unit, $200 for a max. No ranged shooting, no power weapons, low initiative, vulnerable to
S8 attacks, and while they have a decent leadership they get no bonuses or re-rolls. One of the few units in the game that isn't good even at what it's best at (fighting lightly armored units without S8 attacks).

At least the Deff Dread enjoys AV12 and can be bought as a troops choice if you have a Big Mek. It's also only 85pts with double Big shootas. I'd rather have one of those than 3 Ogryn with a bonehead.

Forever alone

Chaos Dreads. a $95 unit that is totally unpredictable and dies too fast.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I have no idea how much they cost, but they're so useless that it's irrelevant.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Pariahs are $12 each. Probably not the worst unit for the money, but they're definitely bad and not cheap.

I dunno about terminators. They're expensive, but at least they are somewhat useful on the tabletop.

I kinda lean towards Ogryn, too, as they are hopelessly useless. They'd be overpriced at $5 per model.

Grotz, obviously. Expensive for their points, and you need a lot of them. Roll on the plastic ones!

The Reaver Titan obviously. Over $1K, and 90% of the games I've seen with one were giant team games consisting of a couple adults (of various sometimes even young ages), and a bunch of screaming kids. Quick way to ruin the gaming experience for everyone at the next table too.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

Thats hardly the fault of the model or the rules now, is it?

Thats the plebs using it.

Well, Partly. Partly sure, its kids being kids. But the rules and points costs for Apocalypse tend to cause games with people I otherwise enjoy playing against to devolve into almost-controlled chaos.

Hate to sound confrontational, but that kind of is part of the point of Apocalypse, just silly fire fights for all to enjoy.

Keep getting tempted by a Reaver. I can afford it, but....can I build it

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

In terms of dollar cost to effectiveness.. anything from the Squats range should qualify...

Stikkbombs + normal boyz = Stikkbommas. They might not have an official "entry" but they are definitely still in the 'dex.

They are considerably better in Fantasy than 40k and it is a combined kit so I'd have to go with Forgeworld's Tau Manta.

VC's Blood Knights aren't anywhere close. You've got the same $75 for 5 guys in most blister pack mounted units... i.e. Bretonian Mounted Yeomen.

My money's on Ripper Bolgrot or Morg'N'Thorg. $22 for a blister for one model that you can very very very rarely use as it's almost impossible to be able to afford a star player on your team.

Gah! Stupid Fantasy!

I didn't even think of that. How about Aun'Va?

I sure as hell hope he's not in fantasy. They already have one type of super-important, senile creature who sits on a floating chair. There would be crowding issues.

I'm seconding Wraithguard: expensive both in points and $$, but effective.

I'll also vote for Pariahs. At $12 per model and a minimum of 4 models to field a broken unit they're simply not worth it. I think anyone who plays (or plays against) Necrons would agree.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
