IIRC but HulkII, Hellraiser II did worse. Iron man and Dark Knight did well but I think the comic buzz has past it. Anecdotally but both She Who Must Be Obeyed and I are comic to movie buts, but both were burned out this year. I don't think we'll be seeing any more comic movies for quite awhile. both of us were actively launching at the two comic movie previews coming out.

No way are that many being made. Sorry. Just no way.

And not a single mention of a new Judge Dredd movie either. That makes me a sad Panda. The original was crap, but not because or due to the Source Material, more the way it was largely ignored.

My friends and I once spent an entire evening casting a hypothetical Transmetropolitan movie. I think that would be a great property to port over to the big screen.

Hard Boiled was drawn by Jeff Darrow, and based on a novel by Philip K. Dick so I wouldn't say it's Frank Miller's since he only wrote the adaptation. Why is the writer of Robocop 2 and 3 suddenly the toast of Hollywood? Miller hasn't written a decent comic in years. Has anyone else read his All-star Batman book? It's a travesty.

It's like watching a train wreck, and not an awesome train wreck in a film where you know no-one gets hurt, but like a train wreck where your family were on that train and you think, but you're not sure, that that's your little sisters arm over there.

Well his last Indy film was spot on, there's no way he could screw that up.

Not to mention how realistic and amazing his E.T. re-edit was.

Looking forward to Iron Fist, Power Man, and Green Arrow.

I won't truly be happy until we know for sure if World's Finest is happening in some form.

And yet... two comic properties that I would love to see made into good movies are absent from the list. Kabuki, and Mage:The Hero Discovered/Defined.

I also would love to see a movie Based on Sandman and/or The Endless done but I really dont think that would ever really work on film.

I had to re-read the last page of the latest issue three times before I was certain that Commissioner Gorden hadn't just confessed his undying love for Batman.
"There is one person I'd like to talk to. To tell all my problems to. One person. A man. But I scarcely know him and he's miles from here. And I'm not supposed to know his real name."
On topic, looking forward to Iron Man II and the Avengers. And are they still going through with that Justice League movie? I thought that one had fallen apart. I had hoped and prayed no one would put it back together.

There’s a big difference between a property being shopped around and a film being made. There’s also a difference between a lot of the comic book movies we’ve seen, high profile properties given $200 million budgets and major releases, and the likely treatment of much of that list.

I suspect most of it will wander off into development hell, much of the rest will get small or no cinema release. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’ll give the artists involved a lot more freedom than the mega-budget spectacles like Spiderman receive.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Really? I didnt feel so strong about the 4th Indy movie. Its ok, but c´mon, the darn spaceship wasnt even "made by the nazis" That was a huge disappointment.
Ghost in the shell is great, if hes really looking into it and can make it work, more power to him.

I'm thinking George was being...sarcastic in the Indy comment.

Captain America has the potential to be one of the best, but will likely be a corny stinker.

Mage should be on the list. I dunno what happened to it. I talked with Matt Wagner at a show (he was at a table with no one around ) back when Spider-Man hit the theaters. At the time he said things were accelerating for the movie based on Spidey's opening numbers. But I guess that died completely.

Speaking of that... I wish Wagner would get off his and do The Hero Denied. We are 2 years away from tieing the record between the first and secind series. I stopped collecting comics about 6 or 7 years ago but there are 3 things that will get me in a store without pause. Anything Sandman that is by Gaiman, Mage, and anything Batman by miller. For some reason... and I don't really know why but ASB&R just hit the right buttons for me. It is a little (ok maybe alot) over the top on the noir aspects but it is also plain that this is a progression from Batman: Year One through to The Dark Knight Returns. For me this actually works with what has been presented before and what is to come. It is just we are getting the story all out of order.

I play...

I would hate GiTS to be remade by anyone. The originals are absolute dynamite and don't need remaking.

This is the problem with contemporary Hollywood. Don't tell me a story I already know, trying to justify it by having a big name star and special effects and a big marketing budget. Tell me a new story.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Please tell me they aren't actually gonna do a movie of Elfquest. Those books are the reason I tried smoking pot, and even on drugs I couln't quite grasp such a slowed concept. If made, it should only be shown at drive-ins, for ventilation purposes.
