Nope, we were WC Morks Angels and got stomped.
Our team included Neil Cauley AND Marc Parker...both of the big Nob Biker winners from last years GT's.
Not only did we NOT school everybody, but the only team we tabled was an amateurish family team.
The next day, the day of the invitational, Parker brought his GT winning list to the invitational....his record....
'Lash list Vs. Nob Bikers= Loss
Necrons Vs. Nob Bikers= Nob Bikers Tabled
Space Marines Vs. Nob Bikers= Marines Tabled
People are ready for them now, and they likely wont win again...they will however, maybe, keep the playing feild level. They're still nasty, but if you're prepared for them wiping them out can be easy.
(on the trip back to the airport we were joking at how much Grey Knight armies are actually BETTER than Nob Bikers...since my Grey Knights had a 3-game winning streak on Sunday in the Championship! "Nob Bikers=Old and Busted, Grey Knights=New Hotness!"

Struggling to look for something to complain about? Seems to me that you might want to tone it down a notch.
I simply described what happened, and was in no way disrespectful.
next time I'll say "a family team that really sucked at the game" That's much more polite, huh?

I was judging the Team Tournament. If the 'Family Team' was the team I think you're referring it, I don't think he could have put it any better. Were they they team from Colorado, with their state flag on the banner?
There were two guys who may have had some experience, and then mom and a 13-year old, who were both definitely at their first tournament. I talked to them a bit while I was doing the paint judging, and they were really nice people, and were having a good time (I hope.)
But, in all honesty, I'm sure they were completely unprepared to face nob bikers, let alone nob bikers run by Neil, Marc and you guys. I don't think saying that a team is amateurish is an inappropriate way to describe this sort of matchup.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Nob Bikers (if anything) when IG players start using Psychic Choirs.

I think Deadshane meant that the family team was not an experienced tournament team.

The key is smileys.
For example, this is mean: We played this family of delta-minus semi morons, who were just as ugly as they were painfully stupid.

Nob Bikers losing first turn against Dark Eldar is pretty devastating, too. But on the other table getting first turn against them crushed them.

If nob bikers lose first turn to DE they should put their entire army in reserve and turbo boost when they come in from reserve.
I think the army is still competitive but no longer an auto win versus wise players. Mech lists and lash can really give it some problems.

From what Marc told me, I beleive he got stymied by the Deciever in CC. Not enough wounds made it thru to stop the deceiver and he routed the orks after close combat.
The key on Nob Bikers is not to shoot them or inflict damage that is other than instant death. That way, once you make a charge with a powerfist or str8 and above each wound should count as two...making it easier to win a combat and route the orks.
The same happened to me during the teams tournement. My teammate and I both pressed hard against a lash list. My Nob biker unit was double lashed into a position that I was within charge range of a Dreadnought, but my models were lashed such that ONLY Nobs W/O powerklaws could move into within 2" of the combat. My opponent also refrained from shooting TONS of shots into my unit as he knew that he didnt want to soften up my unit with wounds, why? When the dreadnought charged, he killed off 3 bikers. With no previous wounds during shooting applied to the models within charge range, this resulted into a Close Combat lost by the orks by 6. I needed a 3 on the dice to stay. I ran, the dreadnought caught my bikers. Tons of points go swirling down the toilet after a masterful "handling" of the Nob Bikers.

Agreed here. I think 'Lash and some Daemon lists are now the true dangers at tournament.
I for one am glad to see the Nob Biker list fall as its so abusive of the rules. Even though I wasnt trying to sabotage my team, I was laughing all the way thru the "spankings" we received!

I think a lot of that was lucky pairing I made a lot of mistakes but it just sped it up not caused it. There was nothing I could really do, and it was only because of the vanilla raider, if it was crusader or redeemer (to a lesser extent though) variants I wouldve had a chance.
Even Kris with his bikers would whoop those GK
But its all good because I realized at tourneys of that caliber my army is just too slow. Its fine with the people at home, and on the usual terrain (where almost every day is a cityfight) but not on those big open boards. So you live and learn.

I think that nob bikers can beat dual lash... turbo boost both units up in the Chaos grill... they can only possibly stop one unit from charging the next player turn. You can also easily drop one DP a turn strafing it with your dakka cannons.

Well, judging by your story about the dread wrecking your bikers, would it be viable for a GK army to use CC dreads now? Or are they still better off just having them sit back and fire the big guns(in which case, an LR would probably be a better choice)?
