Ok, I've been playing tau for a while and have decided chaos will be my next project.
This is the list im thinkin bout let me know what you think.

I visit my local games workshop 1-3 times a week, and have spoken 2 a couple of people, and this is the approximate 1750 list ill be working on. Any sort of help would be appreciated.

HQ:

5 terminators, champion, 4 chainfists, 1 reaper autocannon, mark of tzeentch, champion with twin lightning claws

Drop the plasma pistols on the Berzerkers... it's unlikely you'll get to use them more than once, and you have the chance of killing yourself with it. Toss a Champion with a Power Fist in both units of Berzerkers.

What's your main goal for the Terminators? You should have them a bit more specialized to maximize the effect of your wargear.

Also make sure to give all your units a Personal Icon, if you are taking those Lesser Daemons.

iId say unless you have alreeady moddeled them all this way to drop all but one of the chainfists and switch em in for combi meltas, maybe the same for the lightning claw terminator, drop all the personal icons and plasma pistols, where you should spend that money is on a chosen squad with some heavey bolters and give them an icon so you can summon the daemons all those personal icons are not worth the points. I'd stick Ahriman with the thousand sons and your main problem is mobility so if you could squeeze out the funds to get a unit of marines to use a chosen and maybe a rhino then i'd do it and at that point drop the lesser daemons because at that point you'll need to stay under the point limit and their the weakest link so i'd scrap them. Good luck anyway .

This guy is very expensive. Personally, too expensive for a competative game. He won't be getting into CC for a while (if ever), wasting his potential, he's foced to fire all his weapons at the same target as his squad, and he can't fire the same spell multiple times. Ths result is a psychic beast...who can only apply a tiny sliver of his might. Your anti-infantry (Doombolt) is wasting your anti-tank (Bolt of Change). Your anti-tank (Bolt of Change) is wasting your Ap3 goodness. I'd drop Ahriman for a Daemon Prince or a regular sorcerer to run with the 'zerkers.

Far too many chainfists and the autocannon is too expensive, especially when riding a Land Raider.

I'd take a Rhino for these men. Protects from small arms and gets them where they need to go faster.

If you aren't taking a Rhino, drop Wind of Chaos. You'll never be in a position to flame someone.

I'd drop the Havoc for Daemonic Possession. The Havoc helps anti-infantry...but this is one of your only ranged anti-tank sources. Meanwhile, the Possession allows you to lauch at fools who try to stop your mighty tank.

I hate the model. The rules are great, I just dislike the model. I would be interested in scrapping the Daemons and trying to fit in a second.

i agree with most of the things that have been said, but i simply cant afford the rhino for the men before the tournament, otherwise id be using a chaos lord in term armor and daemon weapon unmarked, and a rhino with each of the khorne berserkers. but for now, what im going to do is deep strike my terminators more than half the time, and have arhiman move forward in the land raider T1 to get him close and run the berserkers so theyre all closing in fast. with any luck, the opponent will be overwhelmed in one turn with everything assaulting on turn 2-3 as most armies (except tau and IG) have units that will be looking to assault me also. once i get into assault, hopefully theres nothing bigger than me, and if there is the land raider obliterator and termies will have some real fun.

That's an awful list.
Ahriman sucks, Lesser Daemons suck, too, and Cult Marines need transports.
One Obliterator is an easy kill point for the enemy.

I wouldn't take Ahriman in this list. He isn't an optimized to help anyone with anything in this list.

Lesser daemons help save Thousand Sons from getting swarmed in CC, but since most of your army is Khorne Berserkers, you won't have that problem. I'd drop Winds of Chaos from the TS, drop the Lesser Daemons, and drop 2 Chainfists, replace the Reaper with a Flamer and both Champions from the Terminators. This will free up the points for 2 more Obliterators and Possession on the Landraider (inplace of the Havoc Launcher).

You really do need Rhinos though, but if you can't, you can't.
