The proportions aren't that important to me, but the blatant nudity may be a deal breaker. Just seems kind of tacky to me.
And I'm like the most secular guy on the planet. Just seems kind of strange for a grown man to be playing with little naked plastic girls.

Context kind of makes a difference. Naked female guard would be tacky. Naked witch elves or dark eldar seem fine within the context of their background though.
Witin that, I see nothing more strange about playing with little naked plastic girls than playing with little plastic soldiers in general.

Yeah, that's my take. People say they sell more (is it true?), but I just couldn't see painstakingly painting up those models in front of my wife! Just doesn't work for me... also rather difficult to paint convincingly, I'd think.
I guess it does for others, but hey, I'd just settle for the head being a bit smaller
Edit: ninja'ed, the above was obviously @ Griever

There's a difference between showing skin and outright nudity. A pretty sizable difference.
A woman walking around in public in a bikini is legal and fine, walking around with just a thong on is not.

I like them. I would buy some, if I have the money and find them in a shop.
The comparison with the GW sculpts shows the proportion concerns are a factor of the extreme closeup pictures.
With other similar scaled models around them, they fit in just fine.
They even look more proportionate to me when put in the lineup with the GW models.
What stops anyone from painting clothing on the "nude" girls?
At the scale the models are, a thin fabric adds no discernible thickness.
With the metal bits around the boobs, it would be easy to paint them as a non-skintone.
File off the nipples if it really bothers you, but at least look at the option the current sculpt allows.
You have to have skill to put detail back on, but if the detail is already there, you can more easily remove it to fit your vision.
And context matters, as someone else said.
If these were space elves, even the evil space elves, nudity doesn't fit.
But for the fantasy evil elves, it fits just fine.

I think the RH mini would look its best in 30 mm (base to eye)
- although it would probabbly be wise to call it "28MM" (considering the high heels) as that is a more common name for " GW-scale".
And the head and breasts actually somewhat *smallish* - compared to the GW line (viewing closeups of 28 mm could mess with your sense of proportions).
See? I told you guys the head is fine, look at GW's

I don't think anyone here is offended by the nudity, some of us would just rather not have nude models.
Sure, context matters, but various people won't care what the context is, they're going to think having nude models is strange, even if it fits that crazy elf women that get high off murder might run around nearly naked. My decision to not have such models is purely my own, not because nudity offends or scares me, I just prefer to keep things that way, same reason I generally avoid putting blood and guts on a model.
Edit: As for just painting the clothes on, some of us are very, very crappy painters.

Your eyes just couldn't adjust to it with hair there.
Remove the hair, her scale looks just like every mini out there.
Also her features are not too large either, not after you paint the eye liner on, the eye will actually look small.
Lastly, for gods sake, GW fans whining about scale, REALLY?
Thank you for posting this. The first thing I thought when I saw those minis was damn the heads are a tad too big. And a day later I'm kinda fine with them. The arms may be a little short, but they might be bent at the elbows making them look that way too. Kudos to your mad 'Shop skillz Luna. And that's you on the right isn't it.

I've gotten several nude minis for my armies. The simplest answser is just to paint a bikini on them if you're worried about keeping things 'safe for the kids.'
Not to sidetrack, but I understand nudity is handled much more casually in Europe. I assume the kids aren't freaking out because of it, correct?

There are three variants proposed currently: Seminude Fantasy, nonnude Fantasy, SciFi. I suggested in the Raging Heroes blog to offer both Fantasy variants separately instead of just one Fantasy and the SciFi variant. I think there are more potential customers for each Fantasy variant than for the SciFi variant.

Are there pics for the other variants? I can get RagingHeroes from work.
And I'm kind of flip flopping on the head size again. The human head is one third as wide as the width from shoulder to shoulder of that same person (learned in art class...heh). Going back to Luna's picture I see that on the girl on the right, but the mini on the left, no. It seems just a tad too big. It could be the angle at which the mini was photographed (like one shoulder more forward of the other) or it could be the giant head aspect of heroic scale.

I've no doubt lots of folks want them with tits out, I don't and others agree with me, others who'll field units of 30 or more of them. So ignoring our requests is a potential loss of customer... So the question becomes, if they had armour, would certain people not buy them on the basis that they don't have bare tits? What kind of people are those and are they also not buying space marines due to the lack of bared mammary glands?

I've never quite understood the logic behind the idea that possessing anything with boobs on it means that you've never been that close to them. I'm married... and I still think boobs are pretty awesome.
Fantasy has always included a fair mix of mighty thews and straining bosoms. If someone really has hangups over a 28mm model having it's boobs out, frankly I think that says far more about them than about me. And they're welcome to think what they want about my sex life.

Egh, I wish we could all get away from generalizing each other over what we think of this model!
Do you think it's well sculpted, insaniak? I know you posted this before:

Other than that, I like it. A little re-scaling and I would be all over these.
I guess I just find it lackluster with the current scaling, but I'm open to it if they'd tweak the proportions a bit more. I guess I'm just never a fan of fantasy female models that have heads bigger than most of their body (I'm including the headdress / tons of hair / etc in this... it's just been done, and I was hoping for something unique!).

Oh, I'm a great fan of boobs. I just don't see the need for naked boobs, cocks or quims on my toy soldiers. Whilst I doubt strongly you are one of them, insaniak, I do think it attracts the most juvenile, misogynistic and creepy elements of our hobby like flies to gak. The same mouthbreathers who frighten the female gamers out of shops and off the forums.
...and again, if the tits out version sells well, all glory and power to em, I'll just remind you and them that all I'm asking for is an armoured version. I want options.

Yeah, my opinion hasn't really changed there. I'd like to see a slightly smaller head, and the hair is a little ridiculous, but is at least in keeping with the GW version (which I also find a little silly). Head and chunky hips aside, the body is really nicely done for a render... Digital sculptors seem to by and large still be really struggling with getting a human form that looks 'natural' (as natural as exagerated heroic scale bodies can look) and this is a big step up from a lot of what I have seen.
Automatically Appended Next Post: MeanGreenStompa wrote:Oh, I'm a great fan of boobs. I just don't see the need for naked boobs, cocks or quims on my toy soldiers.
As I mentioned before, I thnk it really comes down to context. I would have no problem with, say, Celtic berserkers with their tackle out, assuming I had any interest in historical gaming. I wouldn't be as keen on, say, WWII British troopers sans pants, unless there was a darn good explanation for it,
For the genre that these ladies fit into, the boobs aren't at all out of place. Similarly, I felt that the Diaz Daemonettes were just about perfect sculpts for what they were intended to represent, and liked them far more than the current rubbish that GW are selling as Daemonettes... not because they had less clothes on specifically, but because they looked the part, and were gorgeous sculpts.
