As someone who's been around for awhile, I've got at least as many figures, armies, squads in metal as I do in plastic. While I like the look of the products, and I'm probably down for at least one board (depending on international shipping) I'm a bit concerned about those trays supporting the weight of 28mm metal squads/regiments/armies.

I'm less concerned with the overhang feature, as we play on 6x4 tables at my club anyway. Where these win out for me is they are an affordable and transportable way for me to have a surface that matches my damn basing for a change, and, while we have a number of mats at the club, on busy nights you can be playing on the white Formica that the tables are all topped with.

I can see the club springing for a few of these (especially as we have a lot of Infinity and Warmachine players, so will be able to do three tables with two boards.) But I'd like one to match my daemons, and I expect the club will want more generic surfaces.

Sure, but as I said, postage permitting, I'm already down with these. (homie!) So the overhanging trays are my only concern about being useful or not.

Don't need the over hang myself but neat addition to the G&G boards.

Yeah, I like the sound of that turnaround time! Particularly since their previous KS delivered on time (although was for a very different product).

Is 6x4 the only option available, or will larger and smaller sizes be available?

I rarely need a 6x4 table anymore these days, and a 2x2 display option, 3x3 (not possible cause your boards are 2x2 right?), and 4x4 would be as the kids call it, peachy keen.

Each theme will have 6 designs which can be used together to give many combinations in customizing your Games & Gears battle board. 2 of which will be unlocked via stretch goals per theme. To give great diversity and as many combinations per theme each backer will get 6 Games & Gears Battle Boards. Which can make up 2by2, 4by4 or 6by4. Our price point makes it affordable in comparison for our future backers to have more choice. So if you only play on a 4by4 you have 6 customizable design and more options in creating your world/battlefield, this also stops 4by4 players from being penalized as they too get all 6 design themes. If we get more and more backers we hope to unlock more designs per theme that has been stated.

If our kickstarter becomes funded and is very successful with the support of the gaming community. We can then make 3by3 boards for release in 2014 without KS in the future. We hope this KS starts the road and path for us to service the gaming community even more down the months and years to come. That is a good goal. Step by step we can accomplish much.

So no "cheaper" options for smaller sized boards? :( Eh, thems the rubs. The 3x3 one would be nice, but since I don't have to wait for a kickstarter, I just need this one to succeed

Alf, I think it's the tooling costs. There might be some demand for smaller sized boards but probably not enough to make a parallel market.

Additionally, from what I understand the GnG boards are 2x2 on purpose because of the underside support structure and the way the interlocking pieces connect the boards together. Apparently this is what helps give them the strength to support a 12" overhand, as the 2x2 boards are all interlocked and supporting each other due to the strong interlocking piece. That interlocking piece may be tooled or engineered in such a way for the 2x2 boards and not for 1x1, etc.

Still, I am to pledge a ton because I'd like it to succeed and I'd love for there to be new releases for next year, etc.

Sorry, I believe I may have been misread when I said 2x2 and 4x4 I figured it'd be a single GnG tile, or 4 GnG tiles, and not a 1x1 tile

2x2 is a fine measurement for the individual tiles, I was just asking if there would be options for those of us that don't want or don't have the cash for a 6x4 board. like 100 bucks for a 6x4 board, perhaps a 20 dollar pledge level for those that just want a single tile. There are people that would do that just so that they could either 1) see the product itself without investing a chunk of money, or 2) just pick up a single tile for display board purposes. Or sell a 4x4 for like 70 to 75 bucks.

To keep the KS simple and with an easy reward interface. Ninja Division, Hawk Wargames & Games & Gears after feedback from the public at events have decided that all backers should be able to get all 6 designs per theme. It's a two way support mechanic as well for us. Gamers get more design choice and more product for good value and we get more volume which is equally important.

Hoping with the success of this Kickstarter, we will venture to do 3by3 for 2014 were you can purchase it directly. So we very much hope for the success of this kickstarter to be a positive engine/catalyst for great things to come!

Just a 6x4 option is just fine, imo, if it's at the $100 price point

Hey I'm a cheap so and so, I was just investigating my options . 100 bucks is fine, but that becomes half my disposable income for a month I've got no problems if they only want to sell it in 6x4 increments, I was just seeing if there would be lesser sizes available for sale.

Malifaux is 3x3, and Brushfire works decently on a 3x3.

Hopefully it wouldn't be a single 3x3 tile, as that would just be awkward to deal with.

When you say "6 designs per theme" (2 unlocked via stretch goals) does that mean 6 different tile molds per theme? Will you be launching with more than one theme?

I can only think of 5 obviously Anime-esque miniatures games atm: Anima Tactics, Relic Knights, Super Dungeon Explore, Endless: Fantasy Tactics, and Krossmaster Arena.

I can't locate any pics of an Anima Tactics demo, but I don't imagine it'd be anything that different from say a Malifaux table.

Of those five, 2 are already tied to Ninja Division (Relic Knights & Anima Tactics), and 2 are board games that I don't think are going to be G&G target (SDE and Krossmaster), and 1 they haven't talked to the owners about licensing yet (It'd also have some intersting logistical challenges for the depth/modularity of the G&G tables).

I was thinking of Krosmaster Arena, as well... I wonder if their boards will lend themselves to a natural look like that, or if it would be more like Relic Knights'.
