Revised list!

Does this look competative on a local level? Nothing too cheesy, but Nidzilla, Mechdar, Mech IG, a few Orks (no Nob Bikers yet), and plenty of MEQ.

Good? Bad? Ugly?

Seems pretty solid. The Lord could use Mark though. I love keeping with fluff just as much as the next man, but 5 points for another initiative for the Lord would make him an unstoppable killer. If you could find the points, giving the Raptor champion lightning claws could be pretty amazing too. I personally would consider dropping a squad of Chosen to get a Lascannon Pred for 165 and then use the rest of the points to get the MoS on the Lord and Lightening Claws on the champ. With the remainder maybe upgrade those power weapons to fists so those squads won't be tarpitted by a Dread or Wraithlord.

Looks solid, I'm just trying to picture how I'd fight it... The only thing I can think of is its lack of any heavy, long range guns. If I can pop a couple Rhinos and get some Battlecannons in before the Terminators start landing, the list is going to be crippled. Infiltrating Chosen might be able to distract Lootas and Obliterators long enough for you to get up the field.

O H I am in the Webway...

I like the list, my main concern is that your raptor squad with the lord might be targeted a lot...

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you

Have you fought many battles with this setup? I'm curious because I'm thinking of getting a raptor squad next.

When I decide to start an army, I go for theory first, then "proxy testing", then purchasing if I settle on something. Until the first step is 100% complete, I won't move on, so Beerforthebeergod, no I haven't played with this list. I am trying to work out kinks to eliminate un-needed spending or dead-end strategies.

What do you guys think about tossing out the Raptors for Chosen and tossing out a single Termicide unit and maybe bumping the Lord to a Daemon Prince (not that fluffy, but possible?). Losing the Raptors would save me a lot of cash, but it would really weaken the theme, I think.

"Losing the Raptors would save me a lot of cash, but it would really weaken the theme, I think."

Same scenario for me...the avg price for a raptor squad is between $35-45 and to make it worthwhile I feel like you need two. I think they're worth it though as deep striking and jump capabilities can sometimes outweigh being able to infiltrate and carry heavier weapons w/ CCSM

A DP is a walking kill me sign. Without Mark of Nurgle to bump its T to 6, it is vulnerable to small arms fire almost as much as anti-tank. On top of that, you don't have enough heavy armor for proper target saturation to keep that Prince safe. He will die, a horrible, anti-tank death, even with Mark of Nurgle in this list. A Lord of more economical here, as he can hide in units and stay safe.

I'm going to say that you need the Termicide. It's a huge threat and Lanchester's Law of Squares means that you are going to want all 3. Chosen will be ahead, and unfortunatly that will probably mean long dead before help arrives. The best thing I can think of is Bikers. They add protection, speed, a larger threat potentional, allowing for shooting and close combat kills. They are more expensive however, and I am not sure how you'd want to fit it in. If, by scrapping points, you end up with extra, I'd consider getting a Slaaneshi Warptime Sorcerer. It's much more killy than a Lord, but, again, more expensive.

What on earth is the Law of Squares?! You know what, it sounds really awesome, so I will try that out. I am getting a ton of conflicting advice from this and other sites, though, so its been a rough road to get this list together.

I may just come up with a few alternatives and proxy them up. Of course, I have ~2500pts worth of IG to take care of first. Hurray for 6 Valkyries!

3e Dex said that the Night Lords also loved to use bikes so you could replace the Raptors with bikes and be good.

Also if you can shave off some points somewhere you can toss some Melta or CC Chosen in a Rhino and out flank. I was thinking about doing that with my army eventually when its all finished.
