Devlan Mud is awesome!
Seriously, it made painting Orks so much more enjoyable. And with enjoyable I mean "taking much less time so that I can focus more on conversions"
Pretty much. I bought the box of washes when they came out last year. So far, I've given away the blue and purple washes and I'm still on my original pots of Bhaal Red, Thrakka Green and Ogryn Flesh. Devlan Mud and Badab Black though, I've gone through two or three pots of each. Great washes for the stuff that I do.

Hmmm, I'll have to pick up some of this "Devlan Mud".
Seriously, I hear/read (on this thread and others) many good things about it. What's the deal? Seriously, is it the shade, tone, how it covers, what? No one has yet to provide an adequate reason other than, "Wow, you gotta try it, it covers great." Of course, I guess that should be reason enough.
Boy, he spends about 75% this video blowing sunshine!

Bit of everything really.
The tone goes well on any colour, the coverage is good, and the new wash range in terms of consistency are damned tasty. It's like a less cheaty form of dipping essentially.
For example, my Orc flesh is now done with two layers of wash. Devlan Mud to start with, which tones and binds the various shades of green together nicely, giving an even gradient all over. Then a layer of Thraka Green to draw back out the green. Oh, and the new washes dry completely matte, which is another bonus.
Combine them with the Foundation paints, a little overbrushing and basic highlighting, and you can paint to a decent standard pretty damned quickly.

So, with this in mind, throw a couple of shades of green on Ork flesh, then wash with Devlan Mud? (I'm still unsatisfied with my own Ork skin so I'm shopping)

My method is undercoat black, then a layer of Orkhide Shade. Then wet/drybrush a bit of Knarloc Green for the first highlight, followed by a light drybrushing of Goblin Green over the muscles.
This done and dry, layer (maybe two to taste) of Devlan, which as mentioned in my earlier post binds the three layers of green together, giving a pretty natural gradient, topped off with a layer (or two again) of Thraka Green to tone down the brown of Devlan and bring out the various shades of green more.
This produces a decent colour for basic Boyz skin, and varying the initial three layers of paint should allow the same method to do Black Orcs, Nobz and Warboss' should you wish so.
