Is there any merit to this?
I was just intrigued by the fluff and different deployment/playstyle and was hoping someone with experience with the various ally combinations you Loyalists can come up with has any idea how to do this well. (Run-on sentence anyone?) An idea that came to mind was using parent IG for a strong firebase and fill the allotted slots with GKs (GK Termies, 2 PAGK and a Deepstriking PAGK). This doesn't get enough Deepstriking goodness in though, and so I was wondering how you can build a sturdy enough firebase to let the larger portion of your army Deepstrike.
Ideas, toss them down now. What are the biggest problems this force faces, and how do we compensate for them? Ignore the fact that I'm not going to end up building this army, it is always good for you to flex your tactical prowess in ways you didn't expect. Who knows, we might just make a new cheese. Go now my minions! Discuss!

The biggest problem with mass deep striking is that the current version of the deep striking rules are pretty bad, and with GK's costing so much per unit, deep striking them is a very bad option. GK's just cannot afford to lose any units to a mishap.

Not sure about regular games but how about this for planetstrike?
As the attacker (6 elite and fast choices) you could get 6x GKT squads and 6x PAGK squads that can all deepstrike and assault on turn 1.
P.S. if anyone uses this against me when planetstrike comes out its the last time I put ideas on the interwebz..

I suppose I get too used to having Chaos Icons and Fearless. I forget how much everyone has to risk for Deepstrikes and Morale checks. You know what would be a perfect fit? Drop pod marines parenting GKs. You know what you can't do? Exactly that. I do see that massed deepstrike being popular for Planet Strike. So, what can we do to minimize the risk of deepstriking? MSU Deepstrike saturation?

Use stuff to prevent scatter. When given the choice between teleport homer and locator beacon take the beacon as it costs 5 points less. I'm not too familiar with the Grey Knights though.

Yeah, Grey Knights can't be with Space Marines. You can have the Inquisitorial side of the Daemon Hunters with Space Marines, but then we are avoiding Deepstriking goodness. So there goes that great idea...

You CAN have a parent Space Marine list and still include 1 Grey Knight Hero + Retinue, 1 Grey Knight Terminator Squad, 2 Grey Knight troop choices, and 1 Grey Knight fast attack choice.
Its in the DH codex.

Ooooh, so you CAN have a drop pod list! Wonderful! I re-read that section, and yes, you can only take non-GK units if Daemon Hunters are parenting SM. SM can parent GKs with the normal ally allotment though. Weird eh? EDIT: I'll toss out a list later tomarrow.
