Ok in the guard codex on pg 55 it says "D3+3 blast radius."

However if you go into the rulebook on pg 30, it begins the discussion about blast markers and states; blast markers have 2 sizes a "( 3 " diameter) & a (5 " diameter)."

So since common math states radius is half of a diameter, would you just pivot the ruler with the blast range around the point of impact causing to blast to be double of the rolled radius.
If you go from on end of the blast to the other and in so creating a diameter.

The summery is just that, a summery. The full rules are found on page 55, which states that the number rolled is the "Blast Radius". However, this MIGHT be a case of GW being utter pillocks again. RaW however, it is D3+3" radius, so all models within D3+3" of the point it lands on are hit, effectively making it a Blast with a diameter of ((D3+3)*2)"

I see no controversy for this one. Gwar!, you may misunderstand this, I don't think it's related to a summary at all, just the rules for blast weapons in the rulebook and the rule for the Deathstrike in the Guard codex.

Blasts and Large Blasts have a diameter of 3" and 5", respectively. Those are just the rules for blasts, as used by regular blast weapons.

The Deathstrike missile has it's own rules, which state that it has a radius of D3+3". That's big, but for a missile that costs as much as a Manticore, can only fire once per game, and can't even be used reliably? That's what it should have. It's a huge missile. If it had a diameter of D3+3" it would frankly suck.

Again, as I said, GW are pillocks. As it is, yeah you are right, it can get up to a 6" Radius (12" diameter) but all I am saying is don't be surprised if GW do errata it to mean "Blast Diameter"

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying D3+3 should mean diameter. It shouldn't, and RaW it doesn't either, but we all know how GW are.

Ah, I suppose that's not out of the question.

However, if there's one thing GW gives out freely, it's huge blast weapons. (Just try playing Apocalypse with any infantry on the table. )

Hmmm the way I read it it ment Radius as the area it covered. But I do see what yall are saying. I think I might use it again like that haha that thing is fun when its shooting.

Just so long as it doesn't scatter 9" onto your own troops, you should be fine.
