I’ve been making an Ork army based on a list I posted a year ago, but I’ve decided to make a few changes, including adding two lots of 250pt unit(s) that can be added on for games and tournaments that require armies of 1750pts and 2000pts

HQ
85 – Big Mek:
with Kustom Force Field, Slugga, Choppa.

100 – Warboss: Power Klaw, Eavy Armour and Cybork Bits. (I know he’d be better on a bike, but I’ve converted him from the FW Ogryn Boss and I like it too much to replace him)

TROOPS
148 – Boyz Squad:
17 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw and Bosspole. (Mounted In Battlewagon with Big Mek & Warboss who is attached to the squad)

410 – 6 Nob Bikers: Painboy, 1 Waaagh Banner, 2 Power Klaws (1 with bosspole), 1 Big Choppa. 1 Combi-Skotcha.

106 - Boyz Squad: 10 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with, and Bosspole.
60 - Trukk: Eavy Shoota, Red Paint Job, Armor Plates, Stikkbomb Launcha and Reinforced Ram.

112 - Boyz Squad:
11 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw, Bosspole.
60 - Trukk: Eavy Shoota, Red Paint Job, Armor Plates, Stikkbomb Launcha and Reinforced Ram.

112 - Boyz Squad: 11 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw, Bosspole.
60 - Trukk: Eavy Shoota, Red Paint Job, Armor Plates, Stikkbomb Launcha and Reinforced Ram.

FAST ATTACK
105 – 3 Rokkit Buggies
(Not sure on if I should spilt these up or keep them together in one squadron?)

HEAVY SUPPORT
140 – Battlewagon:
Deathrolla, 2 Big Shootas, Red Paint Job, Grot Riggers, Armor Plates and Stikkbomb Chukka.

Total Pts: 1498
Total No: 61 ( 7)
Total Kill Pts: 12

Tactics

The Battlewagon is at the centre of my tactics leading the charge as it projects the Kustom force field around it’s hull protecting the 2 Buggies in front of it and the 3 trukks beside and behind it. Making sure all of them reach the enemy lines. While the Nob Bikers charge the enemies flank and most likely draw fire away from the main force most of which they can easily soak up. Once the squads are happily hacking away in combat the trukks will go tank hunting with their rams and rokkits and the battlewagon with flatten a few things while still having the Mek inside to protect its escort of Buggies.
Of course if the mission has multiple objectives the force will be split up sending the units against suitable targets.


And now the additional units for 1750 & 2000pt games…

FOR GAMES OF 1750pts

160 - An Extra 3 Nob Bikers:
1 Bosspole and 1 grot orderly.
90 - 20 Grots: 2 Runtherders with Grot Pods.

Adding the extra 3 nob bikers gives the squad more suriviablity by having it so that my opponent has to kill 3 nob bikers before a leadership test is needed, also with the army being very mobile I decided it would be a good idea to have a unit to sit on the objectives back in my deployment zone.

FOR GAMES OF 2000pts

180 – 12 Burna Boyz
70 – Looted Wagon:
Skotcha, Big Shoota, Armoured Plates and Red Paint Job.

250 – 5 Deffkoptas with Big Bombs


I rarely play games of 2000pts so I thought it be best if I went for a unit that would be interesting to play, so that I’d be tempted to use it more often. So it’s like to be one of these two, which it will be will depend on the feedback I get from you guys regarding which unit is more fun & effective to play?

A few thing. I'm wondering why at 1750 you add grots to a mechanized list. They really don't seem to have a place.

Also, why only 11 models in each trukk when the capacity is 12. You should always maximize your mobs. Same is for the BW mob - but I have a feeling you trimmed mobs to fit them points wise.

As for the 3 rokkit buggiesm I always recommend splitting up squadrons if you only have one unit of 3 and no other of its type. For one it allows you to essentially split fire and at the same time gives the enemy more targets. In the terms of deffkoptas, where people always want to field them in units of 3, it also comes down to the matter of morale checks.

I like burna boyz, but at 2k I would find a way to put the burnas in the BW and make the boyz ride a trukk.

Made a few changes which I believe has made the list better overall...

HQ

18 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw and Bosspole. (Mounted In Battlewagon with Big Mek)

363 – 5 Nob Bikers: Painboy with bosspole, 1 Waaagh Banner, 2 Power Klaws (1 with ammo runt), 1 Big Choppa. All have stikkbombs and cybork bits.

106 - Boyz Squad: 10 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw, Bosspole.
40 - Trukk: Eavy Shoota, Red Paint Job and Reinforced Ram.

112 - Boyz Squad: 11 Boyz with Choppas & Sluggas, 1 Nob with Power Klaw, Bosspole.
40 - Trukk: Eavy Shoota, Red Paint Job and Reinforced Ram.

Downgraded the trukks got some extra pts and spent them on some grots to hold the objectives in my deployment zone. Hows that?

Your trukk points are incorrect as a trukk costs 35 points, red paint job is 5 points making it 40 points.

grots are out of place in a mech list, thuogh in 1750 you can put the grots inside the trukk.

Greetings.

In all seriousness, I could spend several hours writing a book about all the things wrong with your list, how ineffectual your combinations are, the wasted points on certain other things and why but to be honest....I've already written most of it. I'd like to think that a dakka reader wouldn't mind benefiting from wisdom given elsewhere that applies to them. So please read.
