Yessss so pink! I was totally proud of the eyes and then I took the zoomed in shot and noticed the little bump in his right one, there was some nerdrage Gits :( He is so small I literally could not see that bump till I took the shot, but I wish it wasn't there now D:

Don't burn your things, I don't personally think spending 5 hours on a tiny squig is that good going, I'm a bit annoyed with myself that he's all I really got done yesterday :S

I was so happy with them and then saw the little bump :( Oh man. I think doing eyes with detail REALLY makes a fig pop, the rest of the fig can be quite mediocre but if you put in effort with the eyes, it can still look win

Spec and playstyle really, I can take 1 hit and survive it, but if I am taking a hit then I am doing something wrong to be honest.

Take templar everywhere and gear him with tanky stats, start with nether tentacle spam which will crit 5 times or so for 80k+, Drop shadow beast rain of vengeance and continue to spam NT, then start kiting. Entangling shot, get some range, smoke screen so they start moving back to the templar, spam NT, smokescreen, spam, smokescreen, spam, preparation, smokescreen, spam, repeat infinitely.

I have a lot of experience with Monster Hunter so I am used to extreme twitch gaming styles, this suits perfectly. I have to be aware of all aoe effects and damage range of the creatures while juggling cooldowns, but it works.

Sounds like fun I will have to try a Demon Hunter after I finish gearing my WD and get my Baba to 60
My wd plays completely different. I'm currently abusing a passive ability that triggers 300% mana regen when 4 skills are on cooldown. I pop 2 long cooldows then cycle 2 short cooldown utility spells. 1 regens health and increases int and the other snares. while 4 cooldowns are active I spam massively costed uber dmg spells until everything is dead. works quite well actually
Usually it goes : Fetish Army, Big Bad Voodoo, Soul Harvest (? can't remember if this is right, server ports blocked at work nuuuuuuuuuu), Grappling Hands(?), spam a combination of poison cloud and haunt. I have a few other spells I would like to try as well but the mana regen is pimp!


I do enjoy my pink spotty bottoms.......wait a second.... I think I'm confusing this with a particular english desert...
Really I just don't like big green meanie squigs pushing cute little squigs around! They make me want to get out my squig herding pole!

I've been a little distracted by the arrival of my little 2 month old pair of piggy sisters, so will be back painting shortly

Spending time getting them used to being around people and teaching them that hands being close to them does not actually equal death.

They will get more comfortable the more time you spend with them.

Aye they definitely will, already have them eating out of my hand and letting me stroke them as long as I move very slowly, fast movements are still making them skittish though they are definitely better already than they were yesterday, getting them nice and young was the best plan.

I did my usual update across my sites and was totally convince I had updated Dakka.. but I didn't.

So there has been a fair amount of progress, and also a lot of wasted time and angst.



HaHa my eyesssssssssssss.

Mangler the second is assembled and primed, chatting with owner about colours.

Pete No.2 Is primed and mid painting for the Manglers base He is a red mushroom squig. Madness.

Wurrzag is assembled and primed and will be started on after my weekend.

I have a Legion of Everblight pack arriving any day which are going to be fabulous.

I have a Trygon and Zoanthrope on the way to the same scheme as the old Carnifex.

Some amazing super secret Mini's arrived that I shall keep hush about but am excited for.

And finally, I wasted near a whole day trying to work out how to fix a mini I now loathe.
The second replacement Goblin from GW had far less bubbling and terrible mold issues, but I feel he is genuinely under quality for the squig. I spent, no joke, 7 hours on this model.

Between trying to file down the grittyness (he is tiny, it is so difficult) to filling areas, to spending so fething long working on the skin in a desperate attempt to make it look ok, and this is the result -




Now only the skin is "done" in fairness, but I personally think that is a disgrace. I am no golden demon winner, but I know I can paint decently and I don't think I can save this. He looks like he is made out of bits of sand. Horrible :S

Here he is on the Mangler and I think even if I spend another 7 hours, he is going to negatively affect the model -



So what I said to the owner is that we should use his little friend instead, who is infinitely smoother-



and who I think will look way better -



I am genuinly upset about this, I don't like wasting that much time on something that is not really my fault. Ugh :(

I picked up a couple of old blisters of squigs and hoppers at half price books (random find of the day) so I think I might be following you into the maw of squig-induced insanity

As to the gobbo model.... Thats how he came to you!? Man im sorry :(
He looks like alot of my second-hand models where the previous owners went crazy with paint and glue...

I do second the opinion of the alternative rider though. Hes much smoother and i think he'll look better overall. no sense in messing up Hulk Squig with a gak cast.

Hah! Splendid army of colorful squigs makes me feel cheerful this morning. It's a nice break from the fan rage over the pending arrival of WH40K 6th edition.

Burn that goblin he is a disgrace! What a shame, he looks like a backward child's drawing of a goblin. A shame really because the pose is nicely dynamic - maybe you can sculpt a tiny paper bag and stick it over his head? It just goes to show that us miniature painters rely on having good sculpts to show our talent.

Anyway enough goblin bashing, sometimes you just can't win.

That group shot is brilliant (and demonstrates that you do in fact paint goblins very well). I am going to zoom all over it.

That is the 3rd one :( The first had all the mold material on it, the replacement was just as bad, and this is the hand picked replacement that was " the best we can currently offer"

I don't even know if there is much point continuing to complain. I'm fething tired of it.

I don't have to worry about new edition rage anymore, thankfully! Here is a bonus shot of the armies final previously unveiled squig.
Keep in mind I have exceptionally small hands, and that is a 10 cent coin.

Haha, it's not a great shot, very hard to get them all in focus. The final shot is going to be single super detailed shots of each (ala petes shots) edited into one giant image. It will be great.

Oh and for the Diablo players -



Solo'd up to Azmodan on inferno, all on my own. It's been really hard but very enjoyable. Over 9 million farmed and spent on gear. Sometimes I just look at mobs and they lie down and let me pass. Raziel is a cool guy.
